The two on Prabaramee, been to one but will try the "orange" one tomorrow, usually the last call as they're much pricier than the others.

I know I can buy these online but is there a bricks and mortar store in Patong or elsewhere on Phuket where I can just amble in and buy one of whichever size necessary?

The type of valve I mean is the type that fits inside an actual tap on a basin or sink. The tap is a good quality one, not the sort you simply replce the entire thing just for dripping valve.

A couple of years ago I chose an Nmax over an Xmax. Yes, less power for sure but the smaller size makes it far more useable on tight roads, in traffic and is easy for parking anywhere.

I am planning on getting a 300-400cc machine later but that will be for longer distances and fun, most likely a new style cruiser. The 300+ scoots are just too physically big as an all rounder.

Today I, yet again, deleted the app and reinstalled ( was already on latest version ), seems like repetition is the charm as it's finally working again.

Yup, I've tried all the "standard procedure" stuff, still no go on my Android 8.

Started, for me, yesterday. Like a good little expat I've been using this rather than signing books with a manky pen.

It wanted to re-register my phone number and then failed.

Today it simply reports "No internet connection" when everything else is working fine.

How do these simple apps fall over with unerring regularity? Best not to mention the others by name!

Interesting, the Mrs' two were initially invited (as opposed to an  appointment ) in today but then turned away " no Burmese today ". Patong BTW.

My wife has a couple of Burmese workers, both with current passports, pink cards & work permissions.

I believe she missed an opportunity in early June to get them vax'd, didn't get the memo or whatever.

Without the vax's she can't fulfil her 70% for biz and has been told very conflicting details.

Of the Thai beers(sic) Singha is my choice but yes, Beer Lao Dark is the best SEA beer I've tasted by a huge margin. I must try the IPA version.

If there's a shortage in Patts, we're awash with them in Phuket, all shapes and sizes.

Come down in a van or 4x4 capable of carrying one or even have one transported back, it's cheap enough.

Update to previous post.

I was having a look see on the backup page for Mrs p. and found If you press the "contact Surat thani" button in blue and Thai only, you can then input the data, save it and get an xls file to download and print.

Layout is a bit funky but everything is there.

As of today the main system cannot save anything so equally, cannot print off a completed TM30 for a guest.

Plus, the back up system now only shows previously input guests and has no facility to enter new arrivals.

As the good lady says, "why can't they keep such a simple system up and running reliably".

The hoteliers I know are using it, mainly to cover their own rumps as they are expected to register on the back up system and fill in the relevant details. I was snoofing on my good lady's version but couldn't see a way to make a print off for a guest.

The last time the system was down for a lengthy period hotels were sending in Excel sheets by email.

Union Pay is totally useless, even inside Thailand as so few places will accept it, especially on line.

Demand a Master Card in pain of closing your account, don't take no for an answer, go up the chain of command until successful.

There is a back up system that the hotel should be using. 

Unfortunately there is no printout possible unless they did a screenshot.

If they have been duly diligent your form will then tally with digital records, if IMM. check.

Many eons since I've been in Udon but I did enjoy my visit. Went with a friend and a couple of girlies from there.

Hotel was decent, food was good everywhere we went and there was a very large indoor, live music venue that was good fun. It too was surrounded by good eateries.

Is it still there? No idea.

We also did a day trip over to Laos, Vientiane, that was my first time there.

Forget the name but a worthwhile visiting temple there as well as the red lotus lake and I can vaguely remember another lake ( or same place?) that had temple style walkways stretching over it.

As I say, a long time ago...

No problem having the vaccine, no problem paying for it BUT on the condition that all Thais currently in foreign countries also pay for theirs.
