I've seen houses in BKK that have fallen apart over time, in the humidity and heat it doesn't take long, with the same price on the sign. Call and make an offer and the answer is the same, no discount.

Selling for a bit less doesn't mean losing money, it means losing face.

BTW If you go to buy a house in Japan you get high discounts and no one loses face, the problem is not face loss as another commentator rightly wrote, the problem is the banks that do not want put to lose on their books, idem for the hotel now.

    I call this kindergarden-economics.

If it were so clear, that within 1 - 2 years the price of the properties would at least double, do you really think that anyone would sell? Do you think that any bank would make a foreclosure and lose big amounts of money, when they just can wait 1 - 2 years an get their full amount of mortgage back?

The people who try to sell their hotels try to get the best price they can. Mostly there will be no match between the owner and a possible buyer.

And for the buyers who find the match, there are big risks connected with such a purchase, which obviously have to be considered by valuing the hotel. One of the biggest risks is that demand for hotel capacities will not come back, even not after 2 years, while the supply stays more or less the same. So the net proceeds from the ongoing business could well shrink considerably in the future compared with the good years in the past.

I agree, the banks cannot afford to lose the value on the credits granted so the Chinese can now buy hotels no to buy at a low price that the article mistakenly says but to invest their money out of China and to clean it up step, also not problems for Chinese pay the hotel prices in Thailand too high on the international hotel market, for Chinese investor on Thailand is also political welcome for China government.

Was thinking the same.. if only I was liquid (or rather MORE liquid) right now, I'd totally buy into one of those hotels. COVID will end eventually, even if there is another wave. And then it'll be back to business as usual.

Always wanted to own/own a piece of a hotel, especially a beach side resort on a lovely island like Koh Samui (though personally I prefer Koh Samet, but beggars can't be choosers).

What say ye, people of Thaivisa? T.V. Barbarian Sexpat Farang S<um LLC (or similar stereotypical name, to please the boys in green&blue, running the show?), buying 49% of a hotel or two as an investment group ???? ?? I seem to vaguely recall someone mentioning a couple weeks ago, that they just received their Thai citizenship, so we could even go all in?

Can I get a few "ayes"?

And you believe that tourists return as before ? Every think go for change now

Sadly, for any qualified and experienced expat to be able to make a reasonable contribution to Thai society, Thais would have to admit something that they never will...

It's a real shame.  Obviously it doesn't apply to everyone, but there must be many expats here that have superior education and work experience to average Thais and are a completely wasted resource.

An evening or weekend class once a week.  Wouldn't be hard to set up.  Probably a lot of people would volunteer to do it for free.

No is not a shame if you speaking with retired, I personally am retired and I see no reason to end my life in an office with the air conditioner at 20 ° C instead of looking at the beautiful view of girls strayed on the beach and enjoying my life as a retired, the life is too short.

The picture about is to represent the MP3 lineup.

..and this is a 125. To match the Tricity old 125.

There is no MP3 155 to exactly match the Yamaha.

Yes we'd all like a bike that is not available here. A sacrifice that has to be made when moving to Asia.

From what I read on the Japanese Yamaha website they said that the 300 cc model would be for Europe while for Asia it would be the 250 cc model and they probably present as they did for the other models in Thailand before the 155cc and subsequently the 250 cc, now also the Thai start loving the big bikes so the market should open also for the 250 cc we hope.

Yes, But you get two tires on the road at the front on wet slippery Bangkok streets.

MP3 is quite popular in Europe.

Now there is a 4-wheeled version which as it has 4 wheels can be ridden with a car licence.

This is a 300 cc for Europe, for Asia a 250 cc is foreseen but it seems that Yamaha wants to try for Thailand only the 155 given the previous fiasco with the 125 cc.
Personally I would like to drive a 250 cc instead of the 155 cc.

4 wheels is too expensive buy

Defies the purpose of riding a MC being able to squeeze in and get away with tight places as a 2 wheeler can do but a wide 3 wheeler?...

From the photos it does not seem to me that it is much more bulky and should have a double stability

  8. On May 20 Yamaha officially put on sale the new 155 cc 2020 tricycle capable of stopping without putting his foot on the ground (about this possibility i am not sure for the model Thailand, waiting and see) I contacted Yamaha Thailand and they told me that it will be available in two or three months

  9. Now Minister Anutin what are you waiting to free the economy before everything collapses, after two weeks that there is no C19 and how to have put the whole country in quarantine then the virus is gone, but since you do not understand anything about economics then yes you understands that your power is at the end of the epidemic and you don't want to lose it so you decides for another month and better for another year.
