  1. If people are in quarantine for 14 days how does this help.  It will only find people who have caught COVID at the quarantine hotel. And there are better ways to stop people catching it in the hotels. Like not letting people mix. And it will put tourists off for sure. The only tourists who would accept this will be Chinese. Since they are monitored by their government anyway. Tourists from normal countries will not accept it.

  2. 39 tourists from China come to Thailand for 9 months. The whole thing is weird.

I hope its just a pilot proof of concept demo by TAT or another Ministry to prove to PM minuscule-brain scaredy-cat control-freak dictator that it is possible and feasible, and that there are ways for foreigners to enter the kingdom without COVID getting out of control. I hope it's not the Thai government thinking that 39 Chinese tourists plus a few more planes full in future, is going to help the economy.

They will undergo the 14-day quarantine in alterative state facilities, and if they are clear of infection, they will be allowed to travel around the country. However, each tourist will be required to have a tracker app.

If they are clear of the virus after 14 days, why do they need a tracker App?  What is the purpose of that?

  4. So many people want to be victims in this "me too" world.

What about all the people who were stranded in Thailand when the lockdown started? They were desperate to get back to their home countries but were stranded. Headlines were full of stories about people stranded in Thailand and Cambodia and New Zealand and .....and their governments weren't laying on flights to get them home. So governments laid on flights to get their stranded citizens back home.

And now the headlines are full of people stranded at home who cant get back to Thailand.

Are they the same people? Some people want to be victims all their lives.

  5. Depends. If you are a poor person, it's always a stupid thing to buy a condo in Thailand. If you are a rich person then its usually a good idea.

Discounts are to be had now. Sellers, especially those that want/need to sell relatively soon will be very happy to find a buyer, so make sure to go in low and see how they respond.

But if it were me, I'd wait a bit longer. The market might go down even more. Especially if the vaccine takes a long time to come and the political side gets out of control. Even if those two things don't happen, there will still be good discounts to be had for a few months ...or more. In my opinion.

  6. I hope we aren't going to get a series of articles about people in different categories who can't get into Thailand because the borders are closed. Teachers, retirees, girlfriends, bar owners, education visa holders, investment visa holders, elite visa holders. This story was boring first time around.

This is how the story goes so nobody has to read it every day.

"Those poor entitled people thought they could go to Thailand but after corona virus came they couldn't go there any more and have to wait in their own crappy country - normally a western country like the UK - a bit longer" end of story.

  7. With an investment of over 10M people can get an investment visa that can be renewed every year indefinitely anyway.

The Elite visa just gives a few other bits on top like fast-track immigration, car from the airport and a few massages.

So will that encourage another 1000 people to invest 10M in property if they were not going to do it in the first place? Not sure about that.
