That has nothing to do with it! This driver is guilty for not putting a triangle on the road.
Why?

Did he put the reflective triangle behind the truck?
Does the law require it?

This is a new one. If battery kaput just how could any lights function??
By having enough power for the low consumption lights to glow but not enough power o start the engine. Having said that no one has stated that the truck's light were working, have they? Did you see the title?

battery trouble? Really - or another kind of "brake failure" ?
How would it matter?

Sad. Guess what, robbery is a crime of theft.

i hardly see as how that could be the case, he went back for more.
oopsPerhaps he went back for more of the fish that he was actually fishing for and caught more giant catfish inadvertently again due to the water level.
Oops.

Could be possible that Thailand (once again) made up it's own rules as foreign experts have no clue..."Could be possible that Thailand (once again) made up it's own rules as foreign experts have no clue...".
No, it couldn't be that. Thailand, Cambodia and Laos has made it illegal to fish for them so perhaps he was not fishing for them specifically but, due to the circumstances explained in the OP, they were inadvertently caught in the nets. What's he then supposed to do with the dead fish?

Only if you believe that Pattaya is in Cambodia.

Yeah thats what you call a flow! I love the way the Motosai just cruises by.
I love Bangkok 555555
What else would you expect him (and the car driver who also "just cruised by") to do, stop an solve the problem?

They should just make rules that they are all happy with, so everyone knows where they stand.
Yes, flouting, I'm not saying that applies to you necessarily but that's what foreigners trying to live here are doing when they do it on tourist visas.
"...so everyone knows where they stand".
Here's where you stand; if you're a tourist on a tourist visa or VE don't try to live here on it, nor make so many lengthy trips that it appears that you might be!

Oh you again. As I said to you before, your predictably bizarre and uninformed utterances are not worth a reply, so I won't.
You mean that the utterances in your OP was more rational than my comment?

If it aint taxed for well over a year it probably ain't gov insured either....It is off road..Not used....
Why shouldn't it drive, nobody mentioned it was pushed......? ????
"...It is off road..Not used...."
Precisely, so nothing to suggest that it is dying, then, apart from some Thaivisa posters' speculation based on a tax disc and some crusty wheel arches!
"Why shouldn't it drive, nobody mentioned it was pushed......?"
Neither did I suggest that it was pushed, I just asked a question! If it was abandoned and dying the chances are that it wouldn't have been driven, that's why I asked. If it was driven the chances are also that it has an owner with keys, which, again, doesn't point to death and abandonment.

...someone (The juridic person?) in the residence has decided some weeks ago to move it outside, in the corner where are usualy the ''dead'' cars (As you can see on the photo, there are 2 of them beside).
...or, with the 'glass half full' philosophy, it has been moved to a position next to a very obviously not-so-dead Volvo. Did they drive the "dying Merc" to it's parking place or drag/lift it?
I still think it looks far from gasping it's last.

This happened yesterday and again this morning. Sunday, all the really really bad drivers take to the road, driving along at 10 mph and afraid to turn corners, or pull out, or turn left at red lights, where it is permitted and clogging up the roads to the 'attractions'. Monday, all the lunatics who spent Sunday drunk at home, get back on the road, still half cut, drive too fast, still can't turn corners, pull out on approaching traffic and weave all over the road. It is noticeable and happens every week. By Tuesday, they are all back to their normal idiot brain dead selves. Anyone else notice a difference in 'driving standards' on those two days?
Good to see that your bizarre observations at least are of "drivers" and that you're not blaming the situation (that you seem to be almost the one who can see) only on Thais as would be normal practice here.
You have to bear in mind that not every driver is as perfect, accomplished and as fault-free as you seem to assume you are by putting yourself in the position of judging every other driver. We should be grateful that you are there to police us all, I suppose.

22 hours ago, SteveK said:"if we give you 60 days you go to Cambodia, not come back to Thailand?"
Why are they so scared of people spending lots of time (and money) in Thailand?
They're not "scared of tourists spending time here", they're concerned about some flouting the visa system in order to stay here permanently by claiming to be eternal tourists. Those who do this are the ones you should be criticising, not the IOs who are doing the job that they are told to do.

You haven't spotted the rust on the roof, wings, grill and bumper then....Plus the road tax is a little out of date.......????
Yes, I did, but rust appearing on a car that sure doesn't look abandoned, clean whitewalls holding air, and after-market instruments evident on the dash, for example, doesn't mean that it is dying, unless your in-depth analysis of the photo was able to establish the seriousness of the decay.
There is some wheelarch bubbling but no evidence of rotten wings, there is some roof gutter rust but no evidence of a rotten roof. Rusty chrome on the grille and bumper and other bubbling isn't the death knell of any substantial car as you would know having owned one of the most rust-susceptible yank cars on the planet. And an expired road tax sticker means nothing except that sticker is out of date.????
But, of course, the photographer could put us both right!

I don't know if not a single manufacturer offers window tint off the factory.
Window tint film, you know, the same as the subject of this thread, not tinted glass.
I know that no manufacturer will supply a new vehicle from the factory with tint film stuck on the glass, I don't need to show a source, I know it's a fact, if you dispute it you tell me just one that will do that.

There's another one, well done you! Amazing how many Thaivisa members always make the perfect choices, when all the others get it so wrong, isn't it?
How much more land in Thailand does she own than you do in Thailand?

I wonder how many of the indignant, ignorant, hypocrites (and I'm not necessarily referring to Thaivisa posters) who pontificate about alleged significant climate change and humans' ability to change it ever actually do anything about it personally? Apart from whinging about 7-11s, that is.
