  1. The Government moving swiftly to pay compensation in response to the previous Government’s instigated inquiry, rather than stringing it out for years as those deserving compensation die off is a positive development. https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cdp-2024-0171/
  2. Excellent news. Justice at last for some awful abuses of people who signed up to serve in the military. Read some of the personal accounts of the treatment these members of the military were subjected to, utterly shameful institutionalized abuse.
  3. Given the British Royal families history of hiding children with ‘health issues’ from the public, any answer would be a guess: Nevertheless, first cousin marriage within the British Royal family is a historical fact.
  4. Maybe the reason for my comment had something to do with the history of first cousin marriage with the British Royal family. A point you might have missed in your urgency to respond.
  5. Not the first person to arm themselves travel to another State and then go gun down someone who hasn’t committed any crime against themselves personally. Heroes have in the past been made of such killers.
  6. As I said earlier, Thompson was no honest Joe good guy. And make a note of the importance here of ‘Anti-Trust’ law it plays an essential role in protecting consumers and the wider public against corporate malfeasance.
  7. No you didn’t quote Brian, quotations are presented in quotation marks. You do very often correctly structure quotes within your posts, and we can only understand what you have posted on the basis of what you have written and how it is structured. Clearly Warren does not ‘sympathize’ with the killer. Understanding ‘people can only be pushed too far’ is not sympathizing, it’s a factual observation.
  8. Brian already did, quoting you directly. You do know how to quote don’t you? Here’s how to do it “this is a quote” it sits within parentheses, often helpfully referred to as quotation marks. Since you make much of honesty and honest debate, I take it you agree we can only understand your posts on the basis of the words you yourself post and the structure of the sentences you post them in.
  9. You’ll therefore have no problem providing a quote from the link focused on the precise comment where she expresses sympathy for the alleged murderer.
  10. A very good question. Don’t hold your breath waiting for an answer that does just that.
  11. That’s the thing with ‘might not’.
  12. If there are three Jews in Syria then it is not a lie to say there are Jews in Syria.
  13. Such a law might not receive Royal Assent.
  14. Once again you resort to personal attacks, simply because you can’t provide any credible evidence to back the baseless claims you make. Which kind of demolishes the veracity of every statement you make, including your personal attacks.
  15. More than that, how many times have you read statements in this forum from right wingers espousing vigilante justice or foretelling the coming ‘uprising’ amongst the guys in the ‘we’ve got all the guns’ camp? Even the idea that this killer was a hero to the left omits the obvious fact that people across the political spectrum responded ‘positively’ to his act of vigilante justice.
  16. And yet you can’t produce any credible evidence that the killer is a left winger.
  17. I don’t know if you are aware, but the presumption of innocence and the right to a trial are reserved for living people.
  18. Are you suggesting the decisions made by corporate managers don’t ever result in deaths amongst customers of their goods and services? In the event that they do, ‘fiduciary responsibility’ is no defense.
  19. Even the rightwing press have reported it. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14157793/unitedhealthcare-ceo-brian-thompson-doj-investigation-shot-dead.html
  20. Somebody else with a vivid imagination. There’s no shortage of future novelists around here.
  21. That’s a rather vivid imagination you have there. You should take up wring fiction, you have a talent for it.
  22. A bit of background for you: https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/2008/feb/24/race
