  1. It’s also a contributor to inequality. The Labour Government are very rightly focused on providing equal opportunity for all in education. If people wish to buy privilege they still can, they simply have to pay VAT on it.
  2. Go back and read the post I responded to, and then see if you can spot the point I was making.
  3. Workers in trade unions are now the elite. Have you lost all touch with reality or do you simply not understand the term ‘elite’ in the context of British society?
  4. Oh so Train drivers are not working class all of a sudden because they manage to negotiate a decent wage. ‘My side of the pond’? I’m in Thailand and can still spot a cap doffer, even at this distance.
  5. I think you've got some bad news coming to you on Social Security. It will arrive while you are being distracted on immigration.
  6. You make an interesting observation here, but not one in favor of the position you take. You’ve argued in favor of people using their money to buy a leg up in education and healthcare. And yet you object to other working people using their collective bargaining power through unions to obtain good wages. Moreover you feign concern for working class but are clearly incensed that train drivers receive a decent wage. You support the privilege and power of wealth while objecting to working people using their collective bargaining to get something for themselves and their fellow union members. Methinks your a cap doffer.
  7. Investing billions in state schools to improve the life opportunities of the millions of children who’s parents can’t afford to buy privilege.
  8. You do realise you are feeding your own angst?! Calm down and look where Labour have refocused public spending. They’ve ended austerity and are redirecting public spending to where it will directly improve the lives of working people, be they working class or middle class, white, black and all shades between.
  9. A bit difficult if the family is a mixture of I immigrants and Americans. Details matter!
  10. Let’s see what people are willing to support, but for sure it will be done in their name.
  11. It’s all about the performative cruelty, never mind the consequences, feed his baying supporters, both foreign and domestic, the cruelty to others they are baying for.
  12. Odd how plain truth speaking, so admired by some on this forum, isn’t accepted from some people. Tell me again, ‘hurty words’, ‘obvious truths’, ‘no right not to be offended’, ‘snowflake’.
  13. Oxfordshire is replete with superb state schools. The former students of this odor profit business will have plenty of very good state school options.
  14. I don’t hold the view that those in private education are all Tarquin/Peregrine and Privileged, nor do I hold the view that the ‘common man’ who does not send his children to private school ‘smoke and drink their way through life’.
  15. I think it’s safe to say the utilization is not proportional to representation in the ranks.
  16. The budget has increased spending on state schools by £Billions. Purchasing access to privilege through private schools is now subject to VAT.
  17. I frequently moved more than 3 or four hundred miles while my children were in school. I have different view to you of how the real world works.
