  1. Sad news. RIP to his wife and best wishes for a swift and full recovery to his child he injured. This is just one extreme example of how Q-addicts lose the plot and destroy relationships around them. There are countless families dealing with family members addicted to Q-Anon and other rightwing lies and fantasy. Mass psychosis at work.
  2. Yes a lot has happened. The UK has transformed from a predominantly white nation ( I won’t say anglo Saxon because that would dismiss the Scott’s, Irish, Welsh and existing immigrants who have always need a part of British society) into a multi cultural society. A large part of that change has occurred after you left. All this has occurred without ‘civil war’ and without any ‘wielding of the whip hand’. The foods better, the musics better, the sports better and there’s some strikingly good looking mixed race people about. Millions of immigrants living peaceably, obeying the law, striving for a better life for themselves and their families, paying their taxes, contributing to the betterment of the nation. And their kids! Their kids doing fantastically in school, college and university and moving into the professions, starting new businesses, providing the highly educated staff British businesses need. Motivated and driven as so often immigrants are. You should go visit sometime, it’s wonderful to see.
  3. The vast majority of immigrants in the UK live peaceably, so obey the law, work hard, paying their taxes, their kids are outpacing white British kids in schools and universities, they are doing well in business and doing well in the jobs they work. They are the new, Britons, integrated and doing very well for themselves and the nation.
  4. I’m not interest in your ripped videos, as I have explained, I have recent first hand experience of being in the UK, seeing the place directly with my own eyes. Does it even occur to you that just as you want to select videos for me, to inform me of what you want me to see, somebody already selected and edited those videos then provided them to you, to manipulate what they want you to see? Visiting the UK personally cuts out the middle man, gives the opportunity to see reality rather than selected and edited images that are not in anyway representative of the peaceable, law abiding lives millions of immigrants in the UK actually live. No ‘civil war’, no ‘wielding the whip hand’. You should make a visit yourself, catch up on face to face reality.
  5. A text book example of grossly exaggerated negatively stereotyping millions of immigrants, and all in you very own words. Oh and you managed to drag the death of Queen Elizabeth in too.
  6. Nonsense. WW2 is a historical fact. Powell’s ‘Civil war’ and ‘wielding the whip hand’ never happened. The vast majority, by millions, of immigrants in the UK live peaceably, obey the laws, strive for a better life for them and their families, contribute to the betterment of the nation. If of course you don’t get to look around the UK and witness that, you could sit in front of a computer screen at the other side of the world and watch videos of the tiny minority of immigrants who engage in violence, law breaking and the even smaller number who engage in terrorism. A rational person would look at the relative numbers, see the millions of peaceful law abiding immigrants and not claim the tiny minority to be representative of the whole. I do though accept, if your only view is through videos someone else fed you, then you might develop a biased view that in no way reflects the overwhelming reality. Go to the UK, look for yourself, you might just be pleasantly surprised.
  7. On the basis of the millions of peaceable, hard working, law abiding, contributing immigrants Powell’s predictions were very wide of the reality of the UK today. The vast majority are not committing crimes, the huge vast majority are not terrorists. There is no ‘civil war’, nobody is ‘wielding the whip hand’.
  8. I’m suggesting you check what the law says before participating in broad generalized derogatory remarks about people. I wouldn’t want you to make a fool of yourself.
  9. I wouldn’t recommend that as a defense in an English court of law. Or least doing some reading on the matter first.
  10. Now you are back to funding of public services and of course blaming immigrants Over twelve years ago the Tory government came to power promising to do something about immigration. They’ve done nothing that can be considered anywhere near effective. The complaint you make here was made then, and yet here we are over twelve years later, nothing done about immigration and nothing done about providing funding to meet the population needs. 12 years of failure. So let’s do an Enoch Powell and blame the immigrants.
  11. It’s always (insert racial group in derogatory context). There’s a name for that.
  12. Yes, I am referring to numbers. Millions of immigrants living peaceably in the UK, obeying the law, striving for a better life for themselves and their families and contributing to the betterment of the nation. I’m not replying on ripped videos fed to me by somebody who wants me to see a very narrow view of the actions of a tiny minority, and certainly not from someone with zero recent experience of life in the UK. Numbers matter, and when the numbers are millions of good, honest, law abiding people versus a tiny minority, I’ll go with the millions. Especially given that the millions of hard working immigrants are raising children who are doing fantastically in school, college and university, moving into and up through the professions. New Britons, studious, hard working, entrepreneurial, law abiding and contributing to the betterment of the UK. Away with you and your ripped videos. Somebody chose them for you to see, I have no desire for you to select my viewing material. I much prefer direct observation by visiting the UK.
  13. Nonsense. People from all backgrounds in the UK are mourning and paying respect to Queen Elizabeth 2, regardless of age, class, race, religion, place of birth. One black man running away from the police and calling them racist is not a detraction from the grief of the nation and it is certainly not a interruption of anything by the ‘Black Community’. Your post is, however, a perfect example of blaming a whole racial community for the actions and words of one individual. There’s a word for that.
  14. There are those who are deciding what images and messages to feed you. There are lots of other images and messages those same people choose not to feed you. Like the fact millions of immigrants, including Muslims and Black people, live peaceably in the UK, obeying the law, striving for a better life for themselves and their family, contributing to the betterment of the nation. Millions of immigrants do this. That’s not ‘cherry picking’ that’s the truth of the vast majority of immigrants. Away with you and your secondhand messages of fear and hatred.
  15. Probably not, given the decades separation between Powell’s racist remarks and the Brixton riots. But since you mention the Brixton riots again (you mention them often), perhaps you’d like to spend some time reading up on what gave rise to those riots. Learning a bit about the history of the Brixton riots will make you better informed the next time you bring the subject up. You will of course bring the subject up again, and again…
  16. Enoch Powell is the only person I have called a racist. I haven’t called anyone else a racist, not a single person.
  17. No you can’t call it what you like’. Powell made some predictions, ‘civil war’, ‘whip hand’. He was wrong. Millions of law abiding immigrants living peaceably in the UK, striving for a better life, outperforming in education and business, contributing to the betterment of the nation. That’s the big, mainstream reality Powell missed, he, were not/are not interested in good news about immigrants, he was a racist. Oddly his latter day admirers and defenders aren’t interested in the positive contribution made by the vast majority of immigrants.
  18. And the Brixton riots were in response to?
  19. I think we already know, then as now, many racists don’t call themselves racists.
  20. It was also a disgraceful example of reversing the historical facts that across the British empire it was the British wielding the whip. Utterly disgraceful, even for a racist like Powell.
  21. That doesn’t make sense, have another go.
  22. If blood is blood and streets are streets, I guess somebody getting punched on the nose in the local market for making a racist remark meets the ‘blood on the streets’, criteria. The ‘Civil war’ and ‘whip hand’ remarks are a little harder to demonstrate as factual predictions. While, like all racists, Powell made no predictions about the millions of immigrants we can see in the UK (if you bother going there) who obey the law, work hard for a better life and contribute for the betterment of the nation. Of course he didn’t, Powell was a racist, he stuck to fear and hate mongering that then, as now, is gladly received by some.
  23. You’ve singled out terrorism by a tiny minority from a particular demographic within society, while, like Powell, ignoring the group that had a history of Terrorism in the UK at the time Powell was speaking. There’s a reason why the thread topic is not ‘Powell predicted terrorism’. Powell knew of terrorism, but never mentioned it as an issue, he wasn’t talking about terrorism. Where’s the civil war he predicted? Where’s the immigrant wielding the whip hand he predicted? Where in his predictions are the millions of law abiding immigrants living peaceably in the UK, working hard for a better life and contributing to the good of the nation? Powell was a racist, his predictions where both racist and wrong. Then, as now, he had his admirers and defenders. The correlation between those who admire and defend Powell in this thread and those who post anti immigrant comments on numerous other threads is there for all to see.
  24. I’m not cherry picking anything. Nobody here can answer for terrorist attacks, but it’s odd how you introduce them into the discussion then selectively ignore the history of terrorism in the UK in order to make some off topic point. Powell was not talking about terrorism, despite the recent history of terrorist attacks in the UK at the time he was speaking. He was directing fear and hatred against immigrants, at the time he did so the vast majority of immigrants where black Caribbeans. Odd too, you yourself have chosen to ignore white terrorist attacks in the UK.
  25. Perhaps rather than asking for explanations from people here you should consult the statements made by those terrorists. Regardless, this terrorist act can nor in any sense be seen as the civil war Powell was predicting not anyone wielding the ‘whip hand’. Powell was very aware of the Terrorist attacks the UK had already suffered at the time of his speaking - he did not mention terrorism. He was not talking about terrorism, he was talking about civil war and black people having the whip hand. He certainly was not talking about millions of immigrants who live peaceably in the UK, obey the law, work hard, study hard, strive for a better life, contribute to the good of the nation - the truth of millions of immigrant lives in the UK. Powell was a racist. Then, as now, he had his admirers and defenders.
