I live in Ratchaburi. The government hospitals here charge me 50 baht to see a doctor. Bangkok hospital here charges about 350 baht for a GP and 500 baht for a specialist.
My Thai wife is charged the same as me. So the dual pricing is not everywhere.
wow....and can you claim these costs back from any insurance, you might have??

Farang should pay now at least double. It means insurance will go up in price.
It is discriminating and in fact you pay for the Thai.
Also you have to see if insurance will pay out eventually.
Maybe healthcare in Thailand is good , but it has some creepy thoughts
in 2012 i claimed from Muang Thai insurance they would not pay out.....sum was about 40k baht !!!
My advice would be NEVER USE a THAI insurance company

This attitude doesn't only exist at HBSC. Sadly, unless you are super rich and you want to borrow big money, the banks couldn't care less about you nowadays.
yeah they have you by the goolies !!!!

You’re a Premier client so you have plenty of dosh so the loss of interest should be of little consequence.
I had 4 Premier accounts spread over 4 countries including annuities in Hkg. They started asking me all kinds of questions as to where my funds were coming from. When I refused to answer, they threatened closure of my accounts. I thought sod it and closed all of them myself. I have never walked into a HSBC branch since then and would not shed a tear if they were to collapse.
they WILL NOT collapse....HSBC is worth around 5.2 billion quid (british pounds) !!!

is there not a body, LIKE RSPCA in this country??

You can be out there doing nothing wrong when fate comes along and rubs you out.
That truck must clearly have been going too fast for the road conditions and the driver must have been closer than the safe distance or else he must not have been paying attention to the road in front.
typical driving here.....see it everyday, even if i do less than 1km in my truck !!!

I have made a written complaint on the UK government website. I actually wrote 3 emails (now up to 5) to clarify exactly what documents I need. The VFS requirements don't match the requirements written on the UK Gov website.
Yesterday, for the first time, I was informed that I need a colour photocopy of every page of my passport. I have to show my current passport, but not hand it in and I cannot travel on it. This was new information and contradictory to the UK gov website.
Another little point is that the English they use in the emails can be a little difficult to understand.
they copy all the pages of passport, in colour at TRENDY HOUSE...everything is done there.

THE other day I went to my local Family Mart, to pay my T O T internet bill.
WAS ASKED FOR MY PASSPORT (which I did NOT have with me, i never carry passport with me). so was then asked if I have driving licence... I showed it and eventually paid my T O T bill !!
Just what is this place coming to.. ??

I am thinking of doing this. Surely an application can't take many minutes - especially if I have all documents with me.
you have to print off then fill in all relevant forms/paperwork see website for what is required....people at Trendy will help/advise, that is if you there in person...

if no upto date passport NO EXTENTION....its as simple as this

I don't want to be critical of the OP but when I renewed my UK passport at Trendy I thought it was a simple and courteous procedure. To blame Trendy for his shortcomings is a bit rich. Having to travel to Bangkok twice is the main drawback. As already mentioned if no booking you can not even get on the lift.
i stayed overhight in a cheapish hotel.....also gave me a break from seeing Koh Larn and the sea everyday !!!
Trendy were very helpfull, so I have no complaints what so ever

You're talking about a British passport ("HMPO")? A friend of mine handed in his paperwork at the VfS office in Bangkok and got his new passport back inside three weeks. He certainly wasn't subject to a 14-day waiting list
same for me when I renewed my passport....had my new one within 3 weeks....UK PASSPORT....poster does not state which countries passport he/she is talking about !!
