Tourism may be down but it still took me an hour to drive into Pattaya from Phoenix Golf Course last Saturday evening. The roads were chocker with tour buses, I had to fight my way through mobs of Chinese and Russians strolling around and I couldn't get a table in the Beer Garden at the end of Walking Street. If you want to eat there these days, I'd advise you to get there before 6.30pm. I also did my 90 report at Jomtien a couple of weeks back and you couldn't move in the office. Arrived at about 10am and I was there for about 45 mins, everyone in front of me seemed to have problems, what's up with them? My report took about 30 secs as usual.
go sign in at the time I do, which is about 3.45 in afternoons. I went a few days ago.....job all done in less than 3 minutes......

how serious a problem do you think it is ?
want to compare it to foreigners injured on the roads and public transport - doesn't seem that serious to me, in fact quite insignificant
correct....

No mention of pedestrian crossings that aren't controlled by lights.
these are called PELICAN CROSSINGS.....ones that are cotrolled by lights, that is.....
I would have thought that the whole write up is about crossings without lights.....

Thai ID cards have a machine readable microchip. The pink ID cards for foreigners do not.
I can't say specific to Tesco, but for most transactions there is a work around for entering a passport number or Foriegner ID card number.
However staff sometimes don't know how.
"Cannot" is the default response in Thailand to anything someone does not know how to do, or does not feel like doing. Next time politely but firmly ask for a supervisor.
IF THEY speak english....I ASSUME YOUR ENGLISH

I am sure having someone slowly dying in your home is quite a stressful thing, but to dump them on the street is hard.
if they had proper Social Services this action would NOT be required.......
