  1. Here is the link working

    Nice looking Triton

Yes all tritons come with turbo as standard.

By only fitting an intercooler you will improve the performance. You should also do the CDI and here you ve got several options. Ask around in some tuning shops that does Mitsu what is the best in your case.

When you are modyfying the CDI there is several reasons for why you get more power and also will see a fuel save. The balance between fuel and air is optimized and is more accurate than the fixed settings it has got when it comes from the Mitsu factory. With better mixing you get the fuel save and also some more power.

As the CDI is the cars engine management and controls almost everything in your engine,

it is standard when modyfying the CDI to raise the turbo boost/preasure on turbo cars also. Here is where you get the power. It might be possible that you will get more than a 40 hp power increase if doing these mods.

Intercooler (talking about turbo cars with not high power output) on a turbo car VS the same turbo car without intercooler will normally give about a 10% hp power increase. If you look at the triton without the intercooler (116 hp) VS the one with the intercooler ( 140 hp.. just checked) there is a power increase of just over 20 %.

From my opinion there might be a difference in the turbo boost settings on these two models from the factory.

    To make it more clear.

Lets say the (not real numbers!)

Triton 2.5 turbo, had a boost preasure of 0.5 kg giving it 116 hp

Triton 2.5 turbo intercooler, had a boost preasure of 0.6 giving it 140 hp.

A modified Triton 2.5 turbo with a tuning intercooler that is bigger than the standard from Mitsu, a CDI mod that raised the preasure to 0.9 kg. Maybe you will see + 160 hp

I would guess here that you are looking at + 160 hp. Then with a new turbo set up and there you got your +180 hp

When getting an intercooler you should get yourself a big cooler for tuning cars. How big it should be the guys in the shop will advise you in.

The original from Mitsu will not give as much power up as a tuning intercooler and is probably more expensive too.

  2. Definately the Triton 2.5 4 door is the best value for money. It is also the only 4 door with the 2.5 engine offered with auto gearbox. Manuel is always fun but living inside Bkk and on a daily use car it is not so fun.

This model also has a great potensial to give you easy more power for a very low extra cost. In difference to the 2.5 4x4 the non 4x4 comes without an intercooler. This is the only thing in difference on these to models what comes to the engine. The power in difference is some 25-30 hp on these two and you could be looking at an extra 40 hp if mounting a bigger intercooler than the 2.5 4x4 originally comes equiped with. This together with CDI chip or reprogramming of the CDI.

Good big intercolers you can get from 6000-10.000 B + install. There is to many shops doing this kind of work in Bk to start mention. With these mods you will most likely see the use of lesser fuel as the CDI mods is more precise in the balance between air and fuel than the standard settings from Mitsu.

Also not too expensive would be to go for a turbo upgrade. There is a lot of kits available in Thailand and if there is not one yet for this model it is probably just around the corner. Anyway it is easy to have this work done for a turbo workshop from basic if no kit is available. Send a good thai friend to the shop with your girlfriend when checking price.

You could easy see 180 hp on the 2.5 with these mods. If am not wrong the 2.5 4 door has 116 hp and the 2.5 4x4 about 145 hp.

50.000 B and you should have a 4 door with 180 hp. These engines are bullet proof so dont worry.

The original body widening like on the 4x4 cost 9000 B from the Mitsu dealer...660.000

Some nice 20" and you got a very cool car for just over 700.000

+ 40000 and you got the auto.

Most likely you didnt look for all this but I ll still post it to let you and others see the great potensial this car has.

    Price list under "Triton"

    Check this one out

  3. Mods are all ok except for the exhaust. This has been an issue in Bkk many times and right now no shop sell modified exhausts for small bikes. If driver gets caught and speaks where he bought it. Shop closed.

Also your engine number should be in accordance to your book still you dont drive around with your book.

If giving you a problem it should be about your bike being to noisy. Talk with the young guys on modified bikes. They are updated on wether the police will catch you or not.

  4. howdyy!!

does anyone have any idea, how much need to

pay tax (or hopefully not at all )

if i send my 20 yrs old

honda vf 1000 from europe, (finland)?

by the way, i am selling kawasaki boss 175 , 2004 year,

about 25000 kms, just changed oil and filter in kawasaki-service, naklua.

if interested about kawa, call 01 770 47 30, tim. (in pattaya)

    : :D:D:o:D

If it is your 20 year old friend VS a 20 year old bike you bought not long time ago the case might not be the same.

It also depends on your visa status. As a tourist forget it.

My neighbour in Phuket, a german guy imported his 30 year old bike from Germany not long time ago. He had owned the bike for I think 15 years. I dont remember all the details but I do remember one specific thing. He saying something about drilling a big whole in the box so they could see it was parts to this old bike.

He proved his case about long time ownership and said there werent too many problems. He did not pay any big tax on it. I dont know if he registered it.

Cargo is also cheaper from Europe to Asia than the other way. I would check things up before doing this

I would go for checking out bying a bigbike here. Big bikes are fairly priced in Thailand.

  5. I am looking for a company that also has webdesigners, a 1 stop service. A company that can do it all.

    Hi F1 Visa Runner,

Can you supply more details of your exact requirements or are you looking for advice?

Plaroma is a registered Thai company that can supply "a 1 stop service". We "can do it all" and have done for small local businesses, large projects for governmental organisations, private companies, etc and currently competing for a local NGO website update, etc.

Check our website and arrange an appointment to discuss your needs.

Best of luck in your search.

    Plaroma

I am looking for someone to do my site, not only advice. But I want the posts in the forum and not only as private messages. I have seen your message Plaroma and will get in contact with you soon. I want to have some options to choose between before getting started.

Also I think companys that are doing a job like this, which means getting sombodys money should having no problem with posting in a open forum like you are doing right now. This means that more people will contact you, evaluate you, try you out and then able to tell what they think of you.

If comanys are doing a shitty job for these people or dont satisfy according to the standards in this business, be prepared to hear it. Thats what it is about.

I find it quit amazing that in a city with more than 10 millinon people more than this is not coming up.

So this might be the right area to get into then, doing "1 stop service" websites for farangs :o

  6. I have a retired Thai friend who can do a web site from start to finish. Here is the link for one he did for another friend of mine; WWW.highfieldvilla.com

This is just a prime example of what i am not looking for. The house was nice though and I might help the guy out promoting his business in here by saying, Check it out.

And to the guy that made this website, dont worry about the copyrights, no one is gonna steal it. :o

  7. Guys.. I am not looking for a webdesigner.. I am looking for a company that also has webdesigners, a 1 stop service. A company that can do it all.

They should have a good reference list of clients, able to show that sites they make come high in listings.. etc etc. A company with opening hours and not an office location down in Nana Plaza a couple of days a week.

Regarding this issue and internet, this is one of the biggest mistakes about websites and you see a lot of them in Thailand. You have a web designer make a site for you and the client is happy.. “ yeah of course we`re online, we got a nice website!”

This is then exactly what you ve got and nothing more. People can only see this website if you send them a mail or hand out your business card. Pretty useless from a point of global business view

The truth is that to make a good working website from start to finish involves a lot of other things. It might also never be finished.

Even though my best friend for 20 years and who is an extremly skilled Art Director and could do the design for free, I want a 1 stop service involving one company.

There must be more people out there that has made good working websites in Thailand?

  8. I am looking for a thai company that can do a website with the whole package. From registration to design, payment systems and putting it out on the web. They should know how to make it searchable everywhere on the net and things like that too.

This is not a very big site.

I will ONLY be interested in companys recommended and tried out by foreigners.

A good company that always answers the phone, get things done and so on is what I am looking for.

I want to see work done by them and talk with existing clients before starting up.

Not looking for a big professional web company for big clients. Need to be good price on their service also.

    Thx

  9. Living in Bk most of the time, what precautions should we take??

One more thing. What is it with some of the mosquitos in Bk that leaves nasty wounds on your skin after their bite. Red big wounds that last for a week or more and also leaves you with skin that easily peels of when scratching it??

I feel sorry for the guy leaving this world so young and without his family being there..

Also for the family that lost their son so young just living his dream..

    RIP..

  10. Of course my story is true and I did not pay the overstay amount. I only got the receipt.

What would be the point of lying about not have to pay the 12000 B. Its not like I won 12k. It is obvious that the immigration did wrong here and as my friends thai lawer said; There is no way that they would ever get away with this in court. They made wrong and thats it.

My point is that no matter how obvious things are it doesnt matter. They will hazzle you around as they like. As I was lucky to be at Phuket immigration office and that being so far away from Poi Pet its more likely to belive that this is the reason why it was solved this way.

A scenario of me beeing at Ban Leam Daung border facing the same problem, and the case would probably not be solved the way it was. I can tell you guys that this superior officer in Poi Pet is not the guy to mess with. More likely I belive he would have showed up himself if I was not so far away. I think solving my problem with this offcer in Poi Pet myself being there and I would never have gotten away without paying. I just wonder how late in the night hours it could have been in that office before case solved..

I am not taking the trip to Poi Pet for some time. You never know..

About the rookie if he was the one to pay for the misstake (which I dont think is the case as the superior will take that responsability).. so then be it. If you are behind that counter on an international border crossing representing the Kingdom of Thailand and can not issue a simple tourist visa on arrival in the correct way, then you are just not ready for the job. Learn it this way and you will learn.

  11. I would like to share an experience with all you visa runners that I had at the end of last year.

What happened was when I was in Poi Pet to get a new tourist visa on the border. Everything went as usual untill I got back to the thai immigration.

The officer here handling my passport was obvious an officer straight from the school and didn’t understand a to much about this. He needed help 3 times from a superior officer and this only when issuing a tourist visa on arrival.

I didn’t think to much about that and just put my passport in my pocket when finished. When home I checked my passport and saw that the officer had given me a 3 month stay. Every stamp showed that.

In the last years I have had several different tourist visas and due to changes around immigration procedures and other things related my first thought was that this was something also changed. Maybe if from Europe or similar they now issued 3 months on arrival.

I was happy and went on with my daily life.

After Bkk and back in Phuket an some days before the 3 months expiering I talked with some friends and did some checkings. I got certain that something was wrong and to be sure I went to Immigration one day before the expiry date. At the officers desk and in his computer it showed almost 60 days overstay.

What happened then was that they wanted 12000 bath in overstay and to that I said, no way you gonna get that.

I then realised that I had a problem but the stamps in my passport was there as a proof so I deceided to fight back in a way of playing upset and ignorant

    .

What then happened was that they got on the telephone with the superior ranking officer at Poi Pet. First he was nice and urged me to come back to Poi Pet to settle this matter the right way. I had no plans to go all that way to fix this and I also got suspisious about the whole thing.

I told him that it was out of the question and that this thing had to be fixed in Phuket.

He then changed to be very angry and after some time I refused to talk with him. I just gave the mobile phone back to the quiet officer that gave it to me.

We then talked one more time as he promised a higher ranking officer at Phuket to talk good to me.

That didn’t last for about more than one minute as where he changed to threatening me quite bad. He said he knew where I lived and that he would personally come to Phuket to get me and that I would not want that to happen. He then threatened me that the police in Phuket would lock me up from todays afternoon.

I just gave the telphone back one more time and said I refused to ever talk to this man again.

I then just sat inside the immigration for about 2 hours without anything happening. They had actually closed the immigration 1 hour already so when they turned off the light and it was kinda dark inside and only one officer sometimes being there, I figured it was about time to do something about this overstay.

I asked to see the supreior officer at Phuket as they where in the middle of a meeting. 2 minutes later and in I went. I said I was not to happy about how this had turned out. They were nice and said don’t worry we will fix this.

The only thing that I must except is a 60 day overstay in my passport and the rest will be taken care of.

I earlier had mentioned to the officer at the desk that I was not to happy about my passport showing 60 days of breaking the law in Thailand. The superior said that this was no problem and if I could accept the overstay stamp we would settle this matter here and now. If not, he advised me to go to the immigration in Bangkok and settle the matter there. They could not do anything more then.

I said ok so lets do it now.

What then happened was that they got on the telephone with the superior in Poi Pet where he had to transfer the ovstay amount of 12000 B. I heard the officer in Phuket give him the account number after getting the acount number from some Immigration archive.

I received the bill on 12000 B from the same book as all the other bills comes from but didn’t pay a dime.

I then asked the desk officer what was behind this. He said that if one officer is doing something wrong and that triggers something like in my case overstay and an amount to be paid, the officer or the place where the mistakes has been done must pay.

If the system was not like this you could just imagine how many “wrong” stamps that would appear in peoples passport for some money under the table.

Now this is not possible to do as it triggers overstay and the only way to fix this is to pay.

This thing I have tripple checked and it is actually the procedure, belive it or not.

What would happen if I went to Poi Pet to settle this matter I don’t want to know. I just don’t think Poi Pet immigration is the best place to be after sunset and closed border.
