What <deleted> up argument is this even, the op wouldnt have a problem with the CCTV itself, if he would control is.

But it's controlled by some creepy old dude who doesn't live there, like a psychopath...

i would just replace the NVR (recording unit) with my own so only i have acccess to the CCTV....

If it's a sophisticated Huawei-type system it may be either hard-wired or wifi.  If the former, multiple camera connections will be on rear of the NVR, simply unplug the ethernet to modem cable and it still records but doesn't broadcast via the 'net.  If totally wifi, use the vaseline on camera lens trick.

  2. As with the Tesco takeover, Makro is going thu a reformation by Mr CPs company to create more shelf space which includes, you guessed it, more CPALL product and far far less imports.

Maehia Makro started by moving the eggs.... hiding them between freezers and escalator, next the veggie section got turned 90 degrees and one can barely fit a trolley between the aisles.

A reduction in imported product will send more of us to Rimping or Central.  No big deal.

Barwang. The Wall, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon; The Wall Cab Sauvignon 750ml

JJ McWilliams range of reds;2016 McWilliam's Cabernet - Merlot JJ McWilliam | Vivino

Hopes End (one of my favourites);Hopes End Red Blend | Vivino

1848 reds; Salisbury 1848 Cabernet Sauvignon | Vivino

The prices seem to vary between 399 and 450 baht a bottle, depending on where I find them. For instance the Barwang was recently on sale for 399 baht in Big C, then the price went up by about 50 baht, the same with JJ McWilliams, which I was buying for 395 baht.

I don't know where you're situated but we have a place here in Phuket called Supercheap, and it has a wine section, with two or three of these wines in it, outside of that couple of small supermarkets which have a great selection of wines keep coming to my rescue with some good prices.

I hunt around, and it keeps me occupied in these days of covid.

Thai missus loves a good red and we always hunt for a reasonable Aussie or Chilean cabsav or merlot blend.  Went off the McW wines when price shot up from 399 and now enjoying Tagua CabSav, Merlot not bad either.

Now I cough up and I deliver my Passport then collect, a couple of days later, for the 90 day and I produce one live body at immigration, meet their man, (apologies for not being correct in your modern manner ), from the agency and then see the Thai Official who signs my Visa

    Drive thru quicker and easier.

My sympathy to folks having problems with Thai Immigration. They drove me round the Twist (Old British saying ) years ago.

For many years now I have used the services of a Professional Visa Agent here in Chiang Mai.

Not expensive but takes the hassle off my shoulders, at my advanced years I do not need *&^*ing about and prefer to let a Pro do the business for me.

Years ago an agent was a worthwhile expense for persons in your situation.  Nowadays it's a waste of money as CM Immi is so much more streamlined, friendly, and with fewer clients - For the duration of Covid travel restrictions anyway.

Presently, the Old Zoo days are in the revision mirror????

From my experience renewing my NON O retirement visa last month, a  Walk  In , at 8am was only needed and completed  by  10 am.

No need for a visa agent,or the hassle, of booking a time slot appointment etc etc.

and since my renewal ,my above feedback has been confirmed by several friends

Choose a day ,and roll the dice????and do a Walk In.

Went after lunch and was all done 90 minutes later.  Didn't bother with RE permit this time.  Can't see any point in appointment system at present.

Arrived 8 am at C/Mai Immgr Dept, to morning, for renewal of  my Non O retirement visa, and left  with my Stamp before  10 am.

Excellent friendly helpful service provided by Farung worker,s at front door which continued inside, by all Immgr Officers processing my application.

Please note no further additional information  needed  to the list above, and from my experience , absoulately no need for any Visa Agent, to renew a Non O Retirement, visa   in my view a waste of good Baht, better spent elswhere.

I wholeheartedly concur with your assessment and also found the renewal expeditious.

If you redact any detail that would point to the outlet why not, even if it only makes you feel better.

I feel fine thanks Crossy ???? given Thai laws it would not be prudent to publish even a redacted copy of that company's 'summer sale' promo sheet.  Thankfully they are not a nation-wide company, so it's only CNX BMs who may succumb to the scam.

i'll bet there's a Thai equivalent of E&OE (Errors & Omissions Excepted) buried in the small microscopic print ????

Nope.   The whole  double fold A3 flyer and instore promo signage is total codswallop.  Want a copy posted here ?

    1. Hire an agent

    2. Provide the above ONLY

Less than 1000 THB a month, includes all 90 day reports

    No Brainer

Complete waste of money old mate!!!!  You have no brain(urr).  555

I was in and out in 90 minutes, all done, easy as.  And if the online system gets up again I'll continue 90 days online, easy peasy, otherwise a drive-thru whilst passing the airport is a minor diversion in my busy retirement schedule.

People are living in Chang mai mostly ( not all) because of the cheap living and because they couldn’t afford the clean life where they left, came to Thailand for cheap sex, and look at them now, no plan B, stuck in that polluted coffin, the grass didn’t turn out to be greener on this side of the pond!

but I’m waiting to hear their reply, how they left the UK because of the dreary cold rainy weather, enjoy their life here, and then you’ll hear them again next year, same time bitching about the air pollution .

enjoy your chicken and rice and your Chang boys????????????????

    living the dream!

    haha, you're just jealous.

Bush fire smoke was far worse in Australia and pales in significance to the enjoyment of living in Thailand.

I was not talking about farmers, i said hill tribe men, should have said they were burning the forest.

We had to travel to our home 32 ks along forest tracks, and we were on my mc trying to reach MHS, track was impassable due to them burning both sides of the track.

Aussies know how to handle bush fires ... they send all the smoke and ash across to New Zealand.  555

And, each year of devastating fires in NSW or Victoria, the then government (state and federal) appoint royal commissions to study and solve the problem ... and guess what happens?  SFA.

Reason being, drought+heat+fuel makes for a good fire season and it only takes a fire-bug, lightning strike or dodgy electricity pole to create a spark.

But Aussies are fortunate to have a HUGE ocean to which the smoke carries ....

Not dumb mate, been there seen it, few years ago when we lived in the mountains around Mai Hong Son, asked some hill tribe men why do you burn when you have been asked to stop, because we can was the answer, we live here we do what we want.

Have you any experience living in the mountains?  Probably not, just spouting off not knowing the situation.

Oh I'm well aware of the situation Colin.  And the errant MHS farmers are not really a concern IMHO.  It's the reckless burning of scrubland or forest, and waste like plastic, old tyres, etc, that's needlessly contributing to the haze which crosses over from neighbouring countries each year.

Therefore all efforts to control indiscriminate burning are welcome.

Personally, bush fire smoke doesn't bother me but I get a tad <deleted> off when fragments  of burned waste cardboard or cement sacks land in my pool.  55
