Oh yes? Please explain. AI will translate what it is given to translate. It will not interpret anything into whatever. It does not have that ability or am I missing something?

Yes, AI is being used by news media to translate 'stories' from any source, especially social media, into English for publication.  There is no fact-checking.   Eg: the recent '5m long Cobra' story, repeated across many news sites.

  2. Central to everything including transport - Hotel Eleven on Sukhumvit 11

Or ... Clover Hotel on Suk 16 - actually opposite Asoke/Terminal21.  Quiet, impeccable service and fabulous breakfast!

  3. I replaced an 8 year old HP laptop with a Lenovo NUC and love it.  I already had a 24" monitor and wireless keyboard and so only needed to buy a camera and speakers.  Best part is the NUC fits in a small recess below the desk top.  And oh boy, it is so fast to boot up!

I disagree with your statement. Pinus radiata and slash pines and be pressure treated with Pyrethrum based treatments to resist above ground rot and termites. It can be pressure treated for in-ground use as well.

Pine is used in termite prone areas throughout the world and has been for quite some time.

Disagree all you like except you are not using logic.  Yes, pine can be treated, usually ex sawmill (NZ), but the DoHome 3 metre lengths, in fact none of their stock, is sold as treated.

Having used treated pine framing in Australia I have 1st hand knowledge of termite treatments AND how the little critters may enjoy a meal of previously treated pinewood studs after an elapsed period of exposure to moisture.

I should have been more specific - is sold as framing timber.

Always been available for anything except house framing, eg: condo/office partitioning, and mainly in BKK.  A lot of sawn lengths are used in furniture and cabinet making.

Anyone using for house construction framing would have rocks in their head and termites for friends.

  6. NZ pine wood products have been sold here for many years: t&g sarking, doors, mouldings and ply.

T & G Sarking was used extensively at the Choui Fong Tea Plantation restaurant and tourist area in Chiang Rai - opened in 2015.

Hi name is P Non. They are from China. A very good brand--545W Longi panels. They were not originally earthed independently, and a competitor pointed out that they had no pictures of battery installs on their website. It took them an extra day to figure out how to put the battery in. I wish there were a mad professor involved, as they did a *lot* of installs, but all very basic ones. I'm presently making my way through the circuits as Crossy suggested. I think I identified the bathroom as the problem. The bathroom had just been rewired to add grounds and check the polarity, etc. So, I will ask that guy to come back.

The place is damp for sure!

    Ok, a different company then.

I also have the 550w Longi panels but Earthed independently of both house and Inverter AC side to avoid tripping by small appliances: HW heater, iron, kettle etc.  2 x Earthing rods were driven into the ground specifically.

  8. As an aside, did you deal with Lanna Solar owner, the guy I refer to as the 'mad professor'.  I forget his name, Uwe __ IIRC.  Are your PVCells fully imported or ones he makes locally, and are they Earthed independently of your house circuits?  Dampness entering the PV to Inverter circuit may be enough to trip the breaker.

Crossy is the expert and may elaborate or correct my 2 satangs worth.

  9. Likely washing out from shipwrecks in the Indian Ocean/Andaman sea over last few years.  Severe weather and Andaman currents deliver it to Phuket beaches.

  10. "Chickenhawk" by Robert Mason, described as 'the best book to come out of Vietnam' piqued my interest for 2 reasons.  One, I like Vietnam and will return for another visit in November.  And secondly, I'm an aviation enthusiast.

Whilst usually interested ONLY in historical novels such as those by Robert Harris, Chickenhawk was fascinating as a real look behind the scenes yet with humour, mild sex, and loads of blood and guts.  By Chapter 3, I felt I had learnt the basics of flying a Huey and enjoyed the whole story immensely.

And where is this dry spell at, as we've been N & S since rainy season started, and it's been raining quite a bit.

Along with the weekly 'heavy rain & flooding' warnings ... dry spell, drought ... I think not.  Not in TH.

Despite the current weather conditions likely to persist from October to April of next year

The source article is not clear but one may imagine a drier cool season much like the last.  As to how the RID can guarantee water supply in rural areas is beyond me when most rely on rivers, local dams or artesian supply.  The Mekong and tributaries like the Mun river could easily run dry unless substantial rain falls late in the wet season and China releases the excess.
