I've worked on some sort of rotation, mostly 28/28 my working life, so myself and colleagues and their wives from the west would be without each other for 4 weeks or more.

Sadly, I've heard the horror stories over the many years, seen grown men crying, it can destroy a good person, it's just a crime, some of these women doing the wild thing while their spouse is working in the most dangerous, hostile environment.

Anyway, disregard partying with Thai men, it happenes occasionally but if you got the right chick don't be concerned.

This feature is standard on all Australian phones. 

 

I don't know if Thailand offers this option. 

Wi-Fi calling relies on a technology called SIP/IMS that sends your phone call through the internet instead of routing to a cell tower. Since you're not using a cell tower to place the call, you don't need a cellular service in order to make a call.

Aussie's offers this as a safety feature.

You'll find its not available in Thailand

I like the area, it's close to town and beaches, my children's friends live locally, it's the best place to live.

I just wanted to reply to a couple of issues you made comment, another point to note. 

My employer sent me to Thailand for work.
I worked Songkla (so lucky, great experience), offshore for a few years. I met a lot of Thai's, very smart people (high IQ) but sadly, most of the guys I Supervised had very little education, because of poverty, coming from a poor family's. 
I was working on the rig as their Supervisor and our company had put in place incentives for the intelligent, hard working employees, my company employed mostly western foreigners to work as supervision/management duties and were always looking for locals to employ as it's so much more cost effective. 
Over the years I recommended 8 of my juniors for internal traineeships, this created opportunity for the locals to go up the ladder.
It's a win, win for everyone, great in the day when oil was over $100 a barrel but when things got quiet the locals were given jobs over foreigners due to the reduced wages paid. 

Over the many years I've worked in mostly Asia and Africa, I found lots of the local guys working offshore were hard working and very clever without very little education. It's quite common in poorer countries people having a high IQ with little or no education. 

BTW, I've worked, holidayed and traveled to more than 40 countries and 

Thai girls are the most beautiful.

I don't like enhancements, her natural features are ideal for me, NO makeup or lipstick (her lips are naturally colored), NO fake nails, breast implants, nose jobs, curled hair (her lovely long flowing straight black hair is awesome), she is so beautiful when she wears her hair up in a scrunch, this shows off her beautiful face and neck lines, my girlfriend is natural, inside and out, not a fake molecule.

 

I prefer she keeps shoes simple, I like her to wear small, flat shoes (to show off her beautiful small perfect feet). I like her to wear plain clothes, keep it simple, I'm excited when she wears the clothes she buys from her village market, basic skimpy shorts, amazingly small tops to show off her perfect small breasts and no makeup. When I see her dressed like this it's just wonderful, pure pleasure to be with, bloody beautiful.

 

It's even better, when she wakes up next to me, naked and natural, I'm in heaven.

There are lots of Stunners with model looks in the world but most are enhanced with plastic surgery, botox etc, take away the packed on makeup and the expensive clothing you'll find what's left is just a boring shell, no personality or character. I've been with a few Barbie Doll types over the years, most love themselves and are up themselves. 

My gf is fun to be with, has a great personality and laughs at the same silly stuff I laugh at, she's such a pleasure to be with 24/7, I miss her so much when she's not there with me. 

Shes from a poor family, has little education but has common sense and a high IQ. Last year we had to travel to BKK during lock down, medical reasons, instantly she came up with a solution, she always amazes me how she's able to solve problems, she's much smarter than me. 

I just woke up, she's laying there next to me, she always smells like flowers, we've been asleep for 7 hours and she smells like she's just come out of the shower. When she wakes up she'll look beautiful, she has natural model looks, first thing in the morning she could step straight onto the catwalk. 

She is a Stunner, ticks all my boxes, beautiful, intelligent, amazing personality, petite, even drinks the same beer.

I'm sure she has Aussie DNA, what a girl, fun and loving.
