Quite possible it’s not something taught in school and probably didn’t think she’d ever need to. Here there may be different requirements in every province 

OP renewed my 2 year to 5 years in Udon Thani yesterday. Two Year 

license nearest office to my home. Immigration letter issued at same location. 

 

All paperwork ready went to same location as before and was told I needed to go to Udon Thani which was another 60 km away. They

pointed to one portion of immigration letter which I assume it said Udon Thani location. 

 

A bit bit of a drive but in and out in 20 minutes. Hand over paperwork, pay,perception test, picture and off I go. 

 

Only guessing three staff members station I went to were all ok 

with English. The other location no one speaks English. Maybe they

send foreigners to Udon Thani because of better service for English 

speaking.

 

Needed two letters from Immigration. Immigration Officer asked three times moto and car. 

 

 

 

 

Hard to say maybe it was a language barrier and a bit of a greedy driver. 

 

Similar happens everywhere in the Workd sometime. Worked for a company 20+ years at the time of the incident. Worked out of California office headquarters in Dallas TX suburb.

 

Went to the headquarters at least 40 times. It’s always been the same place and still is 30 years later. 

 

First St time I went to office by taxi usually rented a car. This time there were several company cars so they said taxi in and use one of the cars. 

 

Taxi stops in front of a building and says ok youve arrived. I told him this is not the right place. He wanted to argue and I wouldn’t 

bait him. Finally I used GPS and showed him the location. 

 

West Divison street where the headquarters where was 3 or 4 miles of titty bars and used cars. They’ve cleaned it up a bit now .

 

 

I’ve been stopped quite a few times funny thing before I only had US license stopped maybe twice got my license and a couple times a day in a small town. 

 

All have beeen friendly three had to pay fine or whatever yiu want to call it. All three were justified. 

 

I don’t think I’d want to live in pattaya unless on the outskirts... hate wal to Wall cars

Was in Chichen Itza. .. (Chicken pizza )  Mexico visiting Mayan ruins. Had a simple tripod wanted to take a picture for me my scrapbook. Was asked if I have a license which I didn’t they were nice about it and the rules are there for a reason.

Renewed my 2 year temporary license to 5 years yesterday.

Followed the information on forum smooth sailing.

 

- Passport and cooy

- Health Certidicate (weight,height,blood pressure,questions about existing or prior health issues)  80 baht

- Immigration:  proof of address? Two one each Car and Moto 

- House book blue that I’m registered living. 

 

First temporary 2 year license I got was in Kumphawapi nearest my

home. 

 

Took all the items above to Kumphawapi office and told I needed to go to Udon Thani branch which is KM further, Had to do with 

something on the letter from Immigration maybe it said Udon Thani.

 

Arrived Udon Thani second floor gave all the paperwork. Had to write full name and sign on a couple of papers. 

 

Pay fee fee I think it was total 750 for both moto and car.

 

Over to the testing area given the depth perception test only. Given

a remote control box two buttons red and green. Explained remote

How it works up back and stop. 

 

She told me look at the box (example pictured) asked if I see it? No. Put her hand in box. Yes I see your hand. Still didn’t see anything in the bid. 

 

Got up and took a look inside. Two upright sticks you need to go 

up and back and then stop one next to other. Ok went back standing I could see the sticks. You can’t stand must sit. 

 

Finally i I figured out what the test was and what to do. The confusion was I didn’t understand the test. Passed.

 

Over next stop picture then given both moto and car 5 years. 

 

In and out in 20 minutes. Very helpful and kind staff. Excellent!

 

 

 

 

 

What days do children go to school....? Up here in the NE it seems like every other day there’s so School.

Unfortunately I see far to often Children with no behavior and at times rewarded for it. My two nephews are at the top of the list...

 

Their @ 8 and 10.... spray painted new bicycles someone bought (not me) and while they were at it spray painted two of the motos 

which were both like new.

 

The reward when I saw it... in Laws laughed. Everyday seems like

they wake up especially the older one. What are we going to get into today or break today.... and that’s before going to school in the morning.

 

I don’t understand and I tell the adults you wonder why everything 

is broken. Oh well I don’t buy anything unless it’s needed and put it locked up ..

I’m not sure if this is in the proper forum. Numbness  left index and middle finger More of a constant now. Sometimesa like a slight shock feeling. 

 

Example  piece of toast left hand reading and peck typing with right. toast gone didn’t think It deopled  on

floor never felt it. Three times this week had a cigarette left finger. Twice someone told me I dropped it.

Once I just lit a cigarette never felt it. 

 

Right hand my dominant hand has what I think is Dupuytren’s Contracture. I went to Hospital

in BKK four years ago and the only thing offered was operate and cut tendons ( not sure what they’re 

called) a few months after Thailand hospital.

 

Trip to Los Angeles CA a facility specializes in ha d and fingers,  problems. They numb the area use small

needles To break  up the tendon (whatever there called) was able to flatten hand. Dr said they may grow 

Grow back and a year started again now the fingers are almost closed. One of the strings or? They did 

not try to break it because to close to a nerve.

 

Left hand what I’ve read on Internet suggests see a Orthopedist. Anyone suggestioms doe a Orthopedist in Kumphawapi ideally  or Udon Thani.

I’m One World Started with AA American Airlines 1,500,000+ miles.

i don’t travel for business much anymore so not enough miles to buy a hamburger.

 

I did Gold status for life for going over a million miles. Is traveling Intl with a One World member you to use lounge at airports which 

nice so you can work or just relax. I’ve noticed the last couple years in Business Class area of lounges are standing room early. 

 

I was AA and when flew US to usually Hong Kong or China trying 

to make sure it was an AA flight which most the time was on Cathay Pacific and upgraded from economy 90% of the time. 

 

American Airlines bless their hearts their trying. But need to 

improve on Int’l flights. Once when I had to take AA flight 

LAX to Shanghai I asked for red wine for dinner and they told 

me the price what ever it was money wasn’t the point.

 

i said not a problem I will pay but for reference any flights 

I’ve taken Int’l except AA never paid for any alcohol. They

came back later and said yiu don’t need to pay.

 

Once I got a little angry well a lot. A friend asked me to pick up

a bottle of what/was fairly expensive whisky from duty free.

bought it straight across from the gates. Loading I’m told you

can’t take that on this flight not allowed. I politely said then why

don’t you tell those folks at Duty free shop just across the aisle

i understand a rule is a rule.

 

Asked for the AA Manager. After a discussion she said OK we will check it with our bags and give to you as you disembark. 

 

Last story for the day, Boarding Shanghai to LAX bought a water

a few step from gate, They check all carey on water unopened.

air yiu need to throw that out,,,, it’s unopen and I bought it there

and it was like $5 USD. Sorry Sir drink before you board or 

throw it out. 

 

Had my hands full I said I’ll throw it out but I’ve my hand 

a full why don’t yiu reach in my pants get my wallet and take 

some money the same difference.... and then here came the attitude...

 

The airport in Taichung you can carry water water on board BUT 

do not stand up after landing unroll being told to.... 

 

As my oldest sister of 70says I’ve lived a colorful life..

Reminds me arrived a little bedore midnight New Years Eve luggage 

was damaged and sent to file a claim. Walk in office just after midnight and was New Year 2018.

 

Everyone of the staff had drinks (alcohol) in their hands. I think quite a few had more prior. Good for them they were having fun

 

I’m hoping to hideout somewhere but home. Last two years with

extended family beers flow when they wake up until knock out.

 

i’m all for a couple of days but before - during - and after 7-8 days

can’t I hang. When in US 2-3 dayc ok but that think called work kept calling me back or was the the debt collectors.. a little humor.

 

i think in 3 days last year 46 boxes of beer.....and that’s just family

Flew into China from Taiwan walked up to thee counter he looked 

at the water bottle (from Taiwan) and that’s when the attitude started....

 

Flew into LAX just before landing the airlines gave

out sandwiches so I took with me... Sir you and your sandwich go over there...  searched everything.. pretty wasteful of food. 

Up here in the NE they stop foreigners and Thai same.. same laws 

no breaks for certain nationalities....

3 years never stopped and asked for passport. USA has regular 

passport and for an extra few a drivers license size card with

paaport details picture etc. No valid other than US, Mexico,Canada 

 

i don’t carry passport for 10+ years in APAC it tends to ruin it. 

US TSA or Customs heading out complained about condition of

passport (had the papers added) a lot of traveling. Told him its

you guys dragging through the scanner and not being careful.

 

the plastic on main page was delaminating. He got an attitude

but it was the truth my passport is in a passport type wallet
