An interesting point.
Last year I had a farang poster insist undertaking was not illegal here?
Perhaps he was thinking of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic which is in the back of all of our minds as we tried not get mowed down by one of the maniac van drivers.
OTOH, he could just watch this video on hazards of undertaking,

Ring a bell at a bar in Soi 6 and survive that jungle ounslaught !
Better still, head to 2nd floor Patpong bars and then refuse to pay the tab. If you get out in one piece, you are a survivor.

Agreed. I was the person who taught my Thai GF to check her rear vision mirrors. Her driving instructor never did.
What about checking the blind spot behind her over the shoulder not visible with the mirror. Sounds like you may not be a qualified instructor either.

Isn't that overtaking? Undertaker is what you will face if you drive aggressively like this too often.

Everyday I drive I am forced to move to the left lane to drive around a slow car thats in the right lane. Dont these idiots know that slow cars should drive in the left lane? The worse is when theres a slow car in the left and the right and when Im blocked. Its at these times that I will flash the lights.
Maybe you are driving too fast and tailgating. Flashing the lights is aggressive road rage style behaviour.

Tomato flavoured crisps is just so wrong, kind of like wearing socks and sandals or crocs.

Amazing we should aspire to footwear worn by peasants. I suppose that's what is described as minimalism.
C'mon do not "minimize" it. It is existential zen nihilism.

Ha ha! Interesting!
I've always found the weakness with those (and also other 'higher quality' open sandals) is where the straps over the foot are glued/plastic- welded/connected to the base of the shoe.
Countless number times that after a few months I've tried to super-glue the straps back into the base.
Do the Ho Chi Minh sandals suffer the same weakness, I wonder?
Here you go.....note, use snow tires if you plan on using in the winter.

Actually in India, the word for foreigner firangi is believed to originally come from Persian...so you may be a true blue farang

and never bother answering the offensive question
the response to these intrusive "how are you, and you" types is a simple, "Waddup bro'", or better yet, "don't disturb me. I'm busy", and if you really want to wind them up, "glad you ask.." and then launch into a 2 hour War and Peace length explanation of how your day has been.

Pander to my nonsense? Is a simple polite and normal “and you?” too much to expect when you greet someone with a friendly “how are you?” ?
Absolutely. Why are you are intruding on their personal space?

I had a feeling that some people like you would reply in this arrogant and conceited way to my thread before I wrote it, and now it’s confirmed.
what do you even get from being this arrogant? does talking bad to other people make you happy?
You are the one who is arrogant. Why do you go to a foreign land and expect everyone to pander to your nonsense. If you do not like it, go home!

Hello,
So has anyone else noticed this about Thai people?
When you ask them “how are you?” then most Thai people will just answer “fine” or “I’m fine” and that’s it , they don’t reply “and you?” or “im fine how about you?” like everyone else in the world would do , but thai people rarely do it.
Even when you ask them in thai language “Sabai dee mai” they just answer “Sabai dee” but not “Sabai dee, Khun la?”
I asked my friend who’s also living in Thailand if he also noticed this about Thai people , that they rarely reply back with “and you? “ when you ask them “how are you ?” And my friend noticed this exact same phenomenon about Thai people.
ofcourse not all Thai people reply in this rude way when they are asked “how are you” but most Thai people do reply like this rude and carefree , they don’t ask in return like “I’m fine how about you?”
why do you thai people do this? I’m not trying to be mean at all with this thread but I’m genuinely curious as to why thai people answers in this rude manner, just “im fine “ . Where’s the “and you ? “ ???
I hope a Thai person can explain this to me because I find it very strange , I mean all over the world everyone knows that you should answer “and you?” Or “how about you?” but most Thai people don’t understand this basic polite manners.
both me and my friend have lived in Thailand for 2 years and we both noticed this rudeness of not answering “and you?many times , both when we talked to thai people in the line app and in outside in real life.
Whoever wrote this knows nothing about foreign cultures outside his/her own. Why would they expect that a stranger should provide them with an answer to this very personal question. Go back to your country please and do not return!

Top 5 Reasons You Won’t Like Thailand
Sorry, but a slight inconsistency here as the author claims these are reasons "you" won't like Thailand, and then lists the 5 reasons "he" doesn't like it. Everyone is different, so the top 5 would be different for all people. Also do not so the relevance of where the wife is from.

Its been a day now since I challenged all the shxx stirrers to back up their claims that i have thai bashed. So, you have searched all my comment on TV , where is your proof. Put up or shut up. I may have criticized some things thai, as I do about any nationally, country, but, that is not thai bashing.
Don't feel bad or take it personally, but I did not spend any time reviewing your past comments on TVF.

I've worked as an extra many times, mostly in commercials made here and the phrase "Work Permit" has never been uttered within my earshot. The usual rate for a full day, often starting at 4am and ending sometime after 6pm is B2000 "in hand", that is after the 30% agent fee and 7% tax is deducted. With the proliferation of young Russians and Eastern Europeans desperate for any kind of work, if is sometimes as low as B1500. TV soap operas often pay as low as B1000. Thais get paid considerably less.
Extras are always paid at the end of the last working day, in cash. Signed copies of passports are required to be paid.
I wouldn't get of bed for those rates mate? There must be a better way to earn a buck!

You know the translation for Estadounidenses is "American", right? As for being called a norteamericano by a South American makes perfect sense from their perspective. Of course they could be referring to a Canadian or Mexican or Costa Rican if they aren't more specific in their description. Sorry Keithpa. That's it from me. Good luck to you wherever you land.
Wrong again. The translation of estadounidenses is literally "persons of the United States". Norteamericano is NOT used by South Americans to refer to Canadians or Mexicans or Costa Ricans. They would use, canadienses, mexicanos, costarricenses (or ticos). Do you make all this stuff up, or have you bothered to do any research?

Why not go down and check yourself as the other guy has suggested, rather than spitting the dummy and throwing a hissy fit. It may help others if what he said is corroborated by you, and you could become "poster of the day"!
