  1. They have already returned, people left bangkok last week. Then the government told no one to leave after they had left. Too little too late. Already someone travelled from bangkok to nong khai that has it.

Those 'thousands' that flooded the bus station earlier in the week were mostly the foreigners going BEYOND Thailand's borders. They announced stopping bus ticket sales AFTER they called the travel restriction under the State of Emergency which has definitely eased the mad rush to the provinces. Otherwise it would be total madness. The SRT is still unrestricted apart from probably being very busy and enforcing the face mask rule.

It should of been stopped when the first case in bkk was reported.

  3. At a time like this, you will be lucky.

I went to the bank today, wouldnt even let me until i said what i needed. Then i was let in after the last person left.

You can try, but a digital work permit would probably not cut it.

Here they like to see the real thing, put into their hands so they can "look" at it.

Ah... OK. So you maybe should have posted "I suppose it was bound to happen with the amount of tourists travelling that used to travel over the friendship bridge.

Less alarmist. Otherwise you risk the less informed member jumping in with irrelevant comments on hordes of Chinese tourists and insisting they are still being allowed into the country.

Very true, we are in strange times.

I cant even believe they let everyone leave from mochit bus station last week, then after that said no one should travel from bkk.

    Slowly slowly, like everything.

In most western countries a marriage doesn't give you the right to stay in that country by default.

Can someone not get perminent residence if married to someone from the u.s and u.k and not make constant border runs or report to immigration every 90 days?

Can someone not get a visit visa and stay for 6 months with out going to see immigration every 90 days, with out having to pay  everytime they want to extend.

Given the money is alot higher needed for this. They point is the immigration laws here are redundant. Id rather apply for my visa , get it granted and stay without ever going to immigration in the time im here.

Even doing a 90 day report is hit and miss online sometimes.

local requirement in Chumphon office.  the question before this request was "Does he have ID card".   Not every office will ask for it.   And maybe another person may go to the same office and this is not needed.   Go to the thread for more info:

Ive never been asked, maybe because of my kids age he is 4 years old.

Will probably be asked when he gets older.

Because technically you have 2 flight bookings although they are on the same booking reference I suspect the computer system only deals with the affected flight. Plus they have your money.

Agreed it will be probably an automated response for the affected flight. So your other half of the trip will not be mentioned. I believe what this means is they want you to contact them to arrange another flight. Which will not happen. You probably wont even get a response or a response anytime soon.

They will hold on to your money like all airlines do.

It's just about as easy as the marriage one.  And in my case (and some others I've talked to), no legitimization was necessary.  At least for the 60 day one.

In my case the local immigration office requested some letter from the school showing my name (in English), mother's name, and everything else was in Thai.  And I believe this was because he was over 7 years old, but without an ID card.     I was concerned that school was out during this Corona virus, and what could have been a country-wide lockdown. Turns out the teacher was contacted by the mother that day and the letter was ready the same day or the next day.

Mother was not present for the immigration interview.  But my son was.  And it was 1 minute interview.  He was asked if he could speak Thai, what school he went to, and what grade he was in.   Everyone smiled and then I completed the application.

Thats a new one asking for a letter from school, where was this?

  10. Im in the same boat, my exempt is up on april 3rd, but i have kids here so hopefully i can apply for 60 days extention. Then after that get the embassy letter if there is one and get another 30 days. Im hoping at least a couple borders will open in a few months,if i not i will try another embassy letter then. Or do something i dont want to really do.
