Is it possible to go to the border at Kanchanaburi, Ban Phu Nam ron and get a visa exempt?

My visa runs out next week, and I live close to there.

yep, my issue is that I have extended my non-o for 60 days, so I just plan on going to get a visa exempt and coming back then going back out to get a non-o again.

I don't really want to go all the way laos again at the moment.

As the title says, I am planning to go to laos to get a non-o again in a couple of months, but at the moment I just want to go and get visa exempt for 30 days.

where is the best place near to hua hin to go out and come back the same day?

and do I need to show anything, like proof of funds etc....

you need a page for the laos visa, a page for the tourist visa and a page for the 4 stamps from thaland and laos, I did this the a few months ago with 4 pages left. so you should be fine. the immigration officers actually stamped in spaces on previous pages. so I wouldn't worry too much. when you return get a new passport as soon as possible.

just buy it the day before, but the 5th is fathers day ( rama 9's birthday) so its not a dry day.

When I was teaching, I never even showed my original, just a copy of my degree and transcript. Then my school took everything to Bangkok and 2 weeks later I got the letter for my teaching licence and then went to the labour department to get my work permit.

I suppose it depends where you teach as well.

If you have an extension of stay issued by immigration you should get the stamps transferred. At most immigration offices it does not take long and is easy to get done.

Until that is done you need to have both passports available to show if needed since your new passport does not have any permit to stay in Thailand in it and your old one with your permit stay in it.

If you have a valid multiple entry visa you show both passport the first time you leave the country and then both passport to use your visa in the old one for entry. After your first entry with the new passport it has your valid permit to stay in it and you only need to show your old passport when you enter the country.

 

was just about to ask the same question, I just got my 2 month extension on my non-o and am now about to get a new passport, would I need to go to immigration? or is it just ok to go to the border when its time and show both passports?

it was in nong khai. 

I had this situation today when I went to immigration, last time I just showed them the house contract and that was fine, this time they wanted my landlords id card copied and housebook copied.

so I will go back tmrw and hopefully this will be the end of it.

Btw my landlord has said she reported that I was staying there as there are a few foreigners who are teachers that live in these apartments.

If your landlord hasn't reported you, they will be fined, but it will be you who ends up footing the bill as immigration will charge you there and then and tell you to claim it back of your landlord so I was told.

I was sat between two big blokes in the middle seats, it was a nightmare, im glad it was only the last leg of the flight that this happened to me.

I don't see how this problem is going to be fixed, they would have to remodel the plane lay out for people of a bigger size. and I cant see that happening.

Yes im from the uk, my extension is due on the 21st next week, its only a 2 month extension. I thought the emergency passport was only for if you are travelling.

I did retrace my steps and checked everywhere I went that day.

still no luck.

as I was getting all my documents ready for my visa extension next week, I came to realize my passport is missing, the last time I used was to transfer money at the bank.

the only thing I can think of what has happened is that it fell out of pocket at somepoint.

now I have a few days until I have to go to immigration to get my extension.

what should I do?

Is this ok, I know I should of checked the stamp in my passport, but its only on my tm6 card.

I due for an extension soon, and on top of that I need a new passport.

what country are you from btw? this might be a reason they denied you and suspect you are working in Thailand. how many tourist visa have you had? (in reality there is no limit to the amount of tourist visa's you can have) its down to the IO at the end of the day.

Just a quick check I was recently stopped by police on my motor bike, first time ever. He asked for my licence which is a u.k one, I showed him he looked and just said "U.K" "U.K" to which I replied "yes", then sent me on my way. I know I need to get a Thai driving licence eventually, but im planning on driving from isaan to Bangkok in a Car. Will I encounter a lot of problems, fines …… etc..
