After you have opened a Paypal account……

At Kasikorn you need to have online access (K-cyber account) – This is different to just having a normal bank account.

To do this you need to go into Kasikorn bank to get K-cyber access - There you will need to sign a second form (in Thai) that lists name, account number, and email address.

You will then get the login info via email (normally within 24 hours) - This is Kasikorn telling you that your K-cyber account is set up and they will also provide you with a log in and password.

When you follow instructions and log in with the password provided – This initial login will then also require the password and user name to be changed from the ones send by email.

They also require a 2nd password - This 2nd password is only used for when transactions occur (You can get access to your account by using the login and password you get by email and subsequently change, but if you want to do anything more than check information such as change contact details or add payees etc you will be required to use this second password than).

You can create a simple (never changes) second password or this can be alternatively done via uniquely generated password via SMS and this is where Kasikorn will not use the never changing password, but rather will send on every transaction a OTC to your mobile for each transaction - Either way this is required prior to more sensative access to your online account such as making payments after you have done the initial login and have gained simpler access to your online activity.

Now go to the Kasikorn web site and from the drop down select "K-Cyber Banking. A new window will open. Choose ENG for your language.

In order to make online purchases or transactions – You now have to create a K-web shopping virtual credit card. This is an example where you are requiring the 2nd password. Once the application is completed within 24 hours of making the application you will have a virtual credit card.

What this means is you will be emailed a 16-digit number (same as a Visa card), expiration date, and a CCV (the 3 digits on the back of the card). But one important difference is that there is no actual card and all of this is virtual. But the bank uses this like a real card that you might normally use to make payments to / from any bank account.

Once this has been done now go to your Thai PayPal account and log in and then add the virtual account now linked to your Kasikorn account. Once this card is accepted then PayPal will then require a verification process (available to begin in this same session) that will allow Paypal check that this is actually your account at Kasikorn.

They will deduct an amount from the account and the transaction will be listed as something like PAYPAL1234 (the structure might be slightly different now) on your Kasikorn bank statement. These four digits will then have to be posted into your PayPal account to verify - So you do need to go back to Paypal and enter this verification after you see the transaction on your Kasikorn account.

The way that this actually occurs is that once you receive the email confirmation that PayPal has actually deducted money (from your Kasikorn account) this is when you will be able to collect and provide the 4 digits that you need - to confirm your Paypal account – Hence as I said previously just go into Paypal account and enter the 4 digits - In a new field that has been created on your paypal account that is awaiting this four digit code.

(Once you have been verified then PayPal will reimburse the amount taken in the verification process.)

You can now shop online and transfer money, etc.

Note: Bank account must be entered without the dashes.

Do you think that we can use a Kasikorn debit card on paypal without access to kasikorn online statement ?

  2. In the past the process was:

Applications for Internet Shopping by K-Debit Card and changes of information can be made at any K-ATM across the country, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

How to apply for the service

    1) Select menu option " Mutual Fund/Apply for Service/K-Mobile Banking/Others "

    2) Select menu option “Internet Shopping by K-Debit Card”

    3) Select menu option “Apply”

    4) Enter your 10-digit mobile phone number to obtain an OTP VbV: One Time Password Verified by VISA,

and to receive K-mAlert Debit Card Spending. Then press “Submit”

    5) Read the terms and conditions of the service and press “Agree”

    6) Get a transaction record together with an SMS to confirm that the application is complete.

You then go here to register the card

    https://rt03.kasikornbank.com/enroll/cardNumber.aspx

You then go into your kasikorn branch and pay 200 baht to have the name changed on your card from "priveliged member" to your own name.

I went to a large wholesale retail super market in Thailand,  in Hue Hin near the airport the other day to buy 1 kilo of peeled  ready to eat frozen prawns.  To get a card, so that I could buy from this very large food store. I had to fill out a form with all my personal details where I was born  Sydney Australia,  my present address, my internet address, my address in Cha-am, my age, lots of personal details in English.  This took about 10 mins.  The young lady attending me also insisted I provide a photocopy of my passport and sign that copy.   She then had to find a supervisor to come a see me to see if all was OK.  The Supervisor explained to me that I had filled in all the spaces correctly using black ink when it must be in blue ink.  I was allowed sign the now already copy of my pass port with blue ink as well as the black ink but I had to rewrite the entire application form which took another 10 min in blue ink (they gave me the blue pen).  I was then asked to go and shop and come back in 20 min when I would get a card which would allow me to buy thing from this shop...I don't really need 1kg of cooked peeled ready to eat frozen prawns, so I just left.  Haven't been back since.  I really do love Thai people but this must be one of the silliest things in Thailand or in the World even...nearly as bad as applying for a visa at Immigration in Thailand...yes I only wanted 1 KG of peeled cooked ready to eat frozen prawns.

So you are a genius who went to makro without even knowing that you can buy anything without any personal car ?

You just need to ask them a one time use bar code and then you go...

OK that could be. In any case, I saw dozens of Thai cars in Prom (the Cambodian border town opposite Ban Pakkard) as well as in Pailin, which means they were allowed to enter there. Perhaps foreigners driving Thai cars aren't allowed to, but Thais are. In a sense it's a bit odd though, because there is no distinction between Thais and foreigners driving cars into Cambodia at O'Smach and Koh Kong.

As for the new border crossing at Ban Khao Din it's written บ้านเขาดิน in Thai. The GPS coordinates are

    13°25'56.3"N 102°21'30.6"E

Thank you, here is the link:

About crossing at Banpakard or Banlaem, it might have changed, but few months ago they said no.

In case people are confused, BAN PAKARD is the $hithole looking border:

    https://goo.gl/9KvGeJ

Ban Laem is where there is a clean market.

Cambodia entry is OK at Koh Kong and O'Smach. Ban Pakkard is a maybe (seen many Thai vehicles cross there, but they are likely told not to drive further than Pailin). Exiting is OK pretty much everywhere, though I wouldn't attempt exiting at Ban Laem as the Cambodians might block you (that border doesn't allow cars to cross in either direction).

Another border to try is the brand new international border crossing at Ban Khao Din/Phnom Dai (Sampov Lun). This border supposedly opened on March 30, but according to the Phnom Penh post will only open on May 18. I suggest heading there after May 18 to see if they will let cars through. So far, only Thai trucks have been allowed across there.

Wrong, not Ban Pakkard, only people working in hotels or close area business.

    At least not for foreigners.

And do you have google map location of new border ? Thank you for the info.

Arrived in Cambodia. No problem with Phnom Penh airport immigration. Silently stamped me in.

Not black. White from Turks & Caicos Islands but with US passport as I was born on US soil (Miami).

And no, before anyone assumes anything, I don't have the hippie or disheveled look. Didn't arrive barefoot if that's what you're thinking too.

Cambodia is a lot more welcoming that Thailand.

Good, so what is your next plan?

Complaining changes habits and situations in most cases. The English will bear that out. They have one of the most admirable systems in the world from complaining. Most Thai people do not complain and the system stays the same.

Sent from my SM-G935F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Because of Thai everything stays the same.

Street sellers are not even interested to work in a clean environment, for example look at their dirty chairs and tables, just because Thai are too stupid to think and tell something.

If everybody was complaining the whole country would be cleaner.

And it applies to everything. Every time Thai do not complain when they should, I push them to do it !

How can you say women is cheap? You mean easy to get, or cheap like not expensive? A Falang women from my country would be hellalot more cheap than any Thai woman I have met. A falang woman pay her bills, pay for her food, her housing, her clothes, even pay the bill a good night out! It is a great misunderstanding, the Thai ladys are cheap, if not you are a cheap charlie, and like to abuse your thai gf/wife.

Be a man and suck it up

They are cheap or even free because I use them and send them back where they belong.
