Yes it is what used to be required for 90 day reporting and has a place to write your address.
News to me. Think it must be obsolete now.

Never seen a TM47 either.

I was told just do another Tm 90 report, obviously not information to trust. I haven't changed address for over 10 years and back then things were easier!
TM90? 90 day report? Never seen one. When I do my 90 day reports, I just hand my passport over, no forms to fill in, never asked any questions and my passport doesn't have my Thai address in it. Address never mentioned.

At the main entrance or in the TM30 room?
Good information, as we were discussing TM30 requirements with a well known agent and when I asked about TM28s, he looked at me like I was nuts. I got the idea Jomtiem were not handling TM28s.
It has moved around a bit. I used it 12 months ago, it was in a little room to the side of the main entrance, near where they do the photos. Previously it had been upstairs. Not do TM28s? How can they not? How are you supposed to register a change of address?

What's the option here? Move somewhere else? That's hilarious ... ill break my lease and risk a litigation case and lose my security deposit and have all the costs and stress of moving somewhere where i don't even know if the next landlord <deleted> will do his <deleted> job.
You've already stated that the lease isn't in your name so no problem breaking it. If the landlord refuses to transfer the lease to your name and co operate in completing a TM28/TM30, which would solve all your problems, just find somewhere else.
Some landlords appear not to like having anything to do with immigration as the assume that the information may be disseminated to other government departments and they will be prosecuted for tax evasion as many/most don't pay tax on their rental incomes.

Because you have been given incorrect information. If TM30s were not required in Jomtiem, that separate TM30 office would not be packed to the gills daily with people often queuing up outside the door to get a seat.
It is true Jomtiem does not require one for people on long term Extensions who are returning to their own long term residence. They are necessary, for example, for tourists, trying to extend a TV or Visa Exempt stay.
Girl who does TM30s also does TM28's which are required for everyone who changes their permanent residence. I've filed 2 TM28s but never a TM30.

TM30? i have never had to give a TM30 to Jomtien immigration for my retirement extension.
I've never had a TM30 at Jomtien. Not required if you are on a retirement visa and returning to the same address that you have registered with TI.

Pink ID can't be used at DLT. They handed it back to me, saying "no use".
Which office was that?

Surely if it is a hospital you have used before you will have a card from them. I only mention it as I have one and it means I certainly don't need to have my passport to go to the hospital, nor have I ever had a pink card. Still wondering why people covet them when I have never seen the requirement.
No card but I am on the database. I think that they use the ID to find me on the database. In the UK I would give my name and date of birth and they would find my recoeds. However TiT.

You could have also used your driver's licence for ID.
The interesting thing for me was the fact that the receptionist offered me the option of passport or ID card without prompting. Didn't mention DL but I suspect that you are correct.

And, what would have been the difference had you showed your passport?
Absolutely none. However, I don't carry my passport around with me whereas my pink card is always in my wallet. I popped into the hospital without thinking about ID. If I hadn't had my card with me I would probably visited the next day. Not a deal breaker but it worked for me.

I wonder how you ever lived in Thailand. 1. Direct deposit account for SS. 2. Normal every day account and phone banking (not too much in this acount for safety). 3. FD account. 4. Stock trading account. 5. The one where you keep the big bucks. That's 5.
I have only ever had one account in Thailand. It's all I need. Have several accounts in the UK to do all the other stuff.

Where did you renew it? Did you use a pink ID card for ID and yellow book for your address?
Have you got your citizen ID number or passport number printed on you DL?
Didn't have a yellow book or pink card at the time, used my passport. Passport number on DL.
Interestingly, I attended Bangkok Pattaya hospital today as I wanted an x-Ray on my hand.
Receptionist actually asked me, "Do you have your passport or ID card?"
Showed her my pink ID card and I got my X-Ray (clear).
That's the first time I've used it and that's a win for the pink ID card.

On my old licence top half in Thai, bottom half in English, the same as for my Thai wife.
Theres a new format/layout on my new licence. One central section:
Name in Thai
name in English
DOB in Thai
DOB in English
Thai/English ID number
Again the same layout as for a Thai National with a 'recently' renewed licence
Renewed my Thai DL 12 months ago. Top name in English and block capitals. Name below also in English, not block capitals.
Unlike my previous DL, surname first in both instances. When I queried this was told, "New format".

The Pink Card is about the most useful ID a Farang can have.
More useful than a passport? More useful than TDL? More useful than yellow book? How so?

I obtained one today. I visited my local Amphur first to enquire what was needed etc.
Yellow Tabien Bahn + copy
passposrt + copy of ID page
Visa page copy.
Returned with required documents etc and a 10 yr ID card was issued in under 10 minutes.
Cost= 85 baht. Was told next one would be for life.
Hope this acts as a guide to others but please be sure to check with your local office as what they require, as Provincial Offices can and do vary.
Same experience but they also took my photo and measured me up for my coffin. Was told that mine was for life as I am over 60.
Wife was changing hers to her new province, so I decided to get one for something to do as I was waiting for her. Never used it, doubt that I ever will as my TDL seems to do everything it might be useful for.

As many of the streets in Vietnam are unwalkable , you often have to walk on the road and driving standards in Vietnam are much worser than in Thailand and there reason why there are more road fatalities in Thailand is because there are more cars and thus more deaths because car accidents have more facilitates than motorcycle accidents
75% of road fatalities in Thailand involve a motorcycle.
If crossing the road in Saigon, get upwind of a local and stick close to them as they cross the road. Works for me.
I founds the locals keen to take an interest in me in Vietnam. Friendlier than Thailand.
The women are stunning but not as availiable although I never had a problem finding a friend for the night. The guys coming up to you on their motorbikes and offering you a girl are generally straight. Bargains to be had there.
The various noodle dishes were delicious but I also got addicted to the baguettes from the street carts. A legacy from the French colonial days but the Viets do them even better than the French now.

Yes. Must've got you confused with someone else. Whether you stick to the tenet of your lease or not, you always have problems getting your deposit returned. TiT.
