  1. In Australia, Sikhs have been taking over the trucking, delivery, taxi and medical industry for years. As your Arabic language skills have come in handy in later life so did my Hindi and Urdu skills for greeting my doctors and delivery drivers. Though Punjabi would have been better. The Sikhs are a diaspora due to a raw deal in India in the past and lately from right wing Modi. Nikki Haley's parents are Sikh.
  2. The ATO says that 'if you've given the financial institution your overseas address, the tax will be withheld at the rate of 10%. Without your overseas address, tax is withheld at 47%.'. Strangely the ATO also states that: 'You don't include this interest as income on your Australian tax return'. If that is the case how do you claim SAPTO to offset any bank interest? 3. History, it seems, is not your friend. The Steele dossier was only one of many sources in the Trump-Russia investigation, and the investigation was predicated by the Downer report, not the dossier. Therefore, the dossier was not the sole basis for the Trump-Russia investigation and the validity of the investigation did not only hinge on its veracity. The Mueller investigation was released in 2019, a full four years before the Durham report was released in 2023. The Durham investigation was intended to review the origins of the FBI’s investigation, not to discredit Mueller’s findings. It has been criticized as a politically motivated witch hunt by Trump, which ultimately failed to achieve its objectives. Therefore, the release of the Durham report could not have led to the Mueller investigation being dropped, as the Mueller investigation had already concluded by the time the Durham report was released. IMHO
  4. Trump is mentioned at least half a dozen times in the OP source. I am sure there must a logical reason for your comment.
  5. Curious, I was watching NBC over the weekend, and it was reported that although Trump Tower was mortgaged, Trump still had some equity.
  6. Trump will likely have to put Trump Tower on the market . Karma would be served if George Soros bought it for a fire-sale price and then put up a placard calling it 'Soros Square'.
  7. Yeah, just a cheap rip-off, who would have thought anything more of a proven fraudster.
  8. Along with the sneakers, 'Trump fragrances are also being sold by the company, including “Victory47 Cologne” with a bottle capped with a gold version of Trump’s own head'. I wonder if Trump has tested the sneakers and cologne with his problematic bone-spurs and body odour yet? https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/trump-booed-drops-399-official-025257497.html
  9. There is no time limit for the IRS to enforce civil fraud penalties. Judge Engoron received a report from the monitor about Donald Trump’s tax dealings with his Chicago property when he defaulted on bank loans in 2010: 1. The court-appointed monitor found inconsistencies and errors in Trump’s financial disclosures. 2. The monitor reported that a $48 million loan for Trump’s Chicago property may not have existed. 3. Trump’s tax returns showed that creditors canceled $287 million in debt related to the Chicago project after Trump defaulted on loans. 4. Trump may not have declared the canceled debt as income, which is typically required. 5. These findings are part of an ongoing investigation by the New York Attorney General. 6. Trump’s legal team has stated they will address these issues with the court. 11. My two cents worth .... The main problem here is KH, I suggest firstly strict adherence to rule 'Don't feed the Troll' or we will end back where we are now. As the current issue is Taxation on the AAP in Thailand, I suggest someone be designated with just opening a new topic with this heading. The heading should include a rider that no repetitive posts from the same person or deviation from the topic will be allowed. This may help to exclude the usual rubbish from KH and his latest obsessions of the DTA for Germany and Article 19, and possibly give us focus on the issue at hand. NB Possibly everyone blocking KH may also help.
  12. Seems you have the advantage over most of the critical thinkers here, we never went to Dunning-Kruger University.
  13. You are preaching to the choir. There is no official Commander-in-Chief of Propaganda in Russia. However, as the official spokesman for Putin in Russia, Dmitry Peskov plays a major role in his propaganda and disinformation campaigns. This is why I have taken some ‘poetic license’ in my analysis here. For example, Peskov has been involved in covering up the Kremlin’s links to various incidents. These include the poisonings of Alexander Litvinenko, a former officer of the Russian Federal Security Service, Sergei Skripal, a former Russian military officer and double agent for the UK’s intelligence services, and Alexei Navalny, a Russian opposition leader. 14. Putin's Commander in Chief of Propaganda Russia-side Dmitry Peskov is keeping a low profile on this, why should stateside be any different.... https://x.com/Gerashchenko_en/status/1758459553992056894?s=20
  15. I coincidentally watched Julia Ioffe today, for such a young person she has a remarkable and comprehensive insight into Putin. I was particularly interested in her personal eyewitness account of the Maidan Revolution and the real events as they happened. Obviously, this video would be anathema to the Putin fanboys here.
  16. Facts don't seem to be your friend. 'From the 1970s until he was elected president in 2016, Donald Trump and his businesses were involved in over 4,000 legal cases in U.S. federal and state courts, including battles with casino patrons, million-dollar real estate lawsuits, personal defamation lawsuits, and over 100 business tax disputes'. 19. If you don't have any evidence with links to credible sources to support your opinions, I am done. Unless of course you want to again discuss 'Unlike guns in modern society, automobiles that can cause death and injury are existential for modern life'? 🙂
  20. It is again noted that you are unable to support any of your opinions with facts. 1. The parts of my original post that were omitted were relevant. Their absence suggests that you were unable to address anything beyond your NRA trope. One rule states that we need to maintain the context of the original post in our responses, and another allows us to truncate the original post to the part we are addressing. Following one rule doesn’t mean we can disregard the others. Compliance isn’t an ‘either-or’ situation. Just like in logic, where a conjunction is true only if all its components are true, compliance with forum rules requires us to adhere to all the rules, not just select ones. 2. Your support of the NRA is not the issue at hand; rather, it’s your support of their trope that is being discussed. 3. Your assortment of logical fallacies from your first post: a) False Dilemma (or False Dichotomy): This fallacy occurs when an argument presents only two options or sides when there may be more. For example, the statement “Only Thing That Stops A Bad Guy With A Gun Is A Good Guy With A Gun” presents only two possibilities when there may be other solutions to stop a bad guy with a gun, such as a gun ban, better law enforcement, mental health support, etc. b) Slippery Slope: This fallacy occurs when an argument suggests that one step will inevitably lead to more, negative steps. For example, the argument that a total ban on firearm sales & ownership in the USA wouldn’t stop criminals from having firearms because you can’t stop drug trafficking or human trafficking is a slippery slope. It assumes that because we can’t completely stop some crimes, we won’t be able to stop any crimes. c) Hasty Generalization: This fallacy occurs when an argument makes a generalization based on insufficient evidence. For example, the statement “Police rarely stop crime, and simply take a report after the fact” is a hasty generalization. It may not be true for all police departments or all types of crime. d) Appeal to Fear: This fallacy occurs when fear is used to influence the audience’s opinion. The scenario of waking up and realizing there is someone in your house with a gun is an example of this, as it uses fear to argue for owning a firearm. 4. I agree that not all gun owners are ‘idiots’, as you put it, and no one except you has stated that. Many are responsible and law-abiding citizens. However, the issues I have highlighted are significant and worth considering in any discussion about gun control. It’s not about labeling all gun owners but about understanding the potential risks and consequences of widespread gun ownership. 5. You complain about my links and sources, yet your ability to support your opinions with similar evidence is noticeably absent.
  21. It is noted that you deleted most of my post and therefore its context, in your response which seemly contravenes Forum rules. If you are suggesting that the NRA trope's accuracy is a fact you need to include evidence from a credible source with a link. Here is a summary of the deleted factual evidence that disproves the 'fantasy' that is your opinion: 1. Idealized Image vs Reality: Most gun enthusiasts don’t live up to the idealized image of a steady, righteous, and accurate shooter. 2. Increased Chaos and Violence: Research indicates that the presence of guns often leads to more chaos and violence than acts of heroism. 3. Right-to-Carry Laws and Violent Crime: A 2017 study by the National Bureau of Economic Research found that right-to-carry laws increase violent crime rather than decrease it. 4. Correlation between Gun Ownership and Homicide Rates: Higher rates of gun ownership are associated with higher homicide rates. 5. Road Rage and Gun Possession: Gun possession is linked to increased instances of road rage. 6. Rare Instances of Successful Intervention: While there have been instances where an armed civilian has successfully intervened in a shooting, these cases are rare. 7. Risk of Guns Being Used Against Owners: People who carry guns often have their own guns used against them. 8. Risk to Civilians with Guns: A civilian with a gun is more likely to be killed than to kill an attacker. How the ‘good guy with a gun’ became a deadly American fantasy | PBS NewsHour
  22. You have not supported any of your fanciful claims with any reasoning or logic, having used a fruit salad of logical fallacies. The fallacies of hasty generalization, false dilemma, and ad hominem, in no way contribute to your 'argument'. If you wish to claim your 'opinion' as fact I suggest post some evidence from a credible source with a link.
  23. Yeah right! 'There are also no restrictions on gun ownership for people who have been convicted of violent crimes, and firearms are not required to be locked up to prevent children from accessing them'. 'In 2021, Missouri enacted a law called the "Second Amendment Preservation Act," which made federal gun regulations illegal statewide, and prohibited law enforcement from enforcing any federal laws that “infringe on the people’s right to keep and bear arms.” Kansas City shooting: The gun laws in the state of Missouri | The Independent
  24. There were 800 likely armed police officers at the event. 'Wednesday's shooting outside Union Station happened despite the presence of more than 800 police officers who were in the building and nearby'. NRA: 'Only Thing That Stops A Bad Guy With A Gun Is A Good Guy With A Gun'. Obviously, the gun huggers will not be insulting our intelligence again with this NRA propaganda. Instead of logically addressing this daily American tragedy, there will just be the usual bunkum of 'hearts and prayers' and 'guns don't kill people'.
