  1. The principles of consent are not “rules” written in 2019. They are fundamental human rights that have been recognized and upheld for decades, if not centuries. The year of Trump’s comments does not change the fact that they describe actions that are non-consensual by today’s standards and by the standards of 2005. It’s not about being “lefty” or “righty”, it’s about respecting basic human rights and dignity.
  2. The phrase “they let you do it” does not necessarily imply consent, as it could be interpreted as a lack of resistance or protest, which should not be mistaken for consent. Consent cannot be assumed or implied, and it cannot be given under pressure, intimidation, or influence. Based on the context and the nature of the comments, the actions Trump described in his 2005 conversation do not align with the principles of consent. 3. A new Quinnipac Poll was released today, possibly this trial may have broken the past trend. Trump is now trailing both Biden and Haley. 'The gender demographic tells a story to keep an eye on. Propelled by female voters in just the past few weeks, the head-to-head tie with Trump morphs into a modest lead for Biden'. said Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy. 2024 Matchups: Biden Opens Up Lead Over Trump In Head-To-Head, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Haley Leads Biden 1 On 1, But Trails When Third Party Candidates Are Added | Quinnipiac University Poll

  6. I don't know who the usual suspect is. No, you stated 'since the 2014 Maiden coup'. As I have already explained it wasn't a coup. Maidan finished in February 2014 when Yanukovych was ousted. Putin invaded later in April 2014 and Kyiv started attacking after that.
  7. It seems you might have some misunderstanding about the events that unfolded in Ukraine in 2014, After the Ukrainian parliament voted to sign up to the EU, protests erupted when President Yanukovych rejected the deal under pressure from Putin. The Maidan was not a coup, but an uprising of the people. In fact, the Ukrainian parliament voted to remove Yanukovych from office by 328 to 0, which is about 73% of the parliament’s 450 members. Following these events, Putin’s invaded both Crimea and the Donbas. Kyiv did not take kindly to the invasion and shelled Putin's forces in the Donbas. Revolution of Dignity - Wikipedia

  9. No, I don't know. But I suggest that Tucker Carlson is not a 'credible source'. Even his own legal defence says so. Fox's Lawyers: You Literally Can't Believe The Facts Tucker Carlson Tells You. The Legal Defense For Fox's Tucker Carlson: He Can't Be Literally Believed : NPR
  10. Tucker now has his own News website called The Daily Caller. I saw it recently on AN a couple of days ago. One of regulars posted the link to support some conspiracy theory. I had to have a chuckle questioning myself if it would comply with the 'approved credible source' rule.

  15. I watched Episode 1 of Mission of the Air over the weekend, my thanks to @Will27 and straight away noticed a familiar sounding music score from Band of Brothers, and I thought it would be as good. It was a magnificent production don't get me wrong, but I had problem staying focused for the duration, in fact I was glad it ended. The User Reviews seem to be bringing down the IMDB Rating and not that many are that positive. Perhaps some others and those who have watched Episode 2, may have an opinion to share. I would like to stay with it, if it is worthwhile continuing.
  16. The world you describe seems to be based solely on your assumptions, which may not align with the facts. From my viewpoint, the jury’s decision to award $83 million in damages suggests a different reality. This decision was made in a court of law by a jury of Trump’s peers. They evaluated the evidence presented to them and made a judgment based on those facts. I understand that it might be difficult for you to accept that Trump has been brought to his knees and held accountable for his false rhetoric by ‘a broke 80 yo woman on her last leg (sic)’. However, I’m confident that with time, you will come to terms with the verdict.
  17. I find it's poetic justice that an 80 year old woman has made Trump accountable for his false rhetoric. Something that no-one else has been able to do, not only once but twice.
  18. You have been on this forum a 'long time' yet your current login is less than 2 days old? Your 'word' based on your current reputation, would one of the lowest I have ever seen. None of my posts to you included personal attacks towards Trump so why do they warrant off topic responses? I do respond to others' posts, if you had been here 'long time' you should have noticed. You post was not 'legitimate' as it was off topic, post a legitimate one and I will respond accordingly.
  19. And what about the likely backlash of vile name-calling and victim-blaming, that you have demonstrated here and that from your family, friends and the community with a similar penchant? Could you show enough empathy, compassion and restraint to accept their deeply personal decision which can be influenced by many factors, including fear of not being believed, shame, and trauma. Sadly, any empathy, compassion and restraint has not been evident here.
  20. Will you give your loved one your advice about a speedy report along with your opinion that perpetrators are 'victimised', as you have done in your response here? Saying the assailant is a victim, is a blatant form of victim-blaming and I would suggest that your loved one may then never report the attack as brave E. Jean Carroll did.
  21. If someone you care about, like your mother, wife, or daughter, was sexually assaulted, would you advise her to report it and bring accountability to the perpetrator? Reporting could potentially prevent another person from becoming a victim. Or, would you discourage her from reporting due to the likely backlash of vile name-calling and victim-blaming, that you have demonstrated? Perhaps your attitude could influence the length of time it takes for the victim to muster enough courage to disregard individuals who share your viewpoint.
  22. It could be seen as contradictory to say a court case is 'water under the bridge' and in the same breath that the case is under appeal. You seem to have invested a lot in an appeal especially for the Rule of Law 'right to alibi'. Civil cases generally have a ‘lower bar’ in terms of the standard of proof required (‘preponderance of the evidence’ rather than ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’). This could potentially make an appeal less likely to succeed, especially if there’s strong evidence supporting the original verdict. Do you have links to both dockets for NY Federal 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal Due Date 16 Feb 2024 as mentioned previously and the First Level NY State Court of Appeals?
  23. It’s important to note that memory, especially in the context of traumatic events or events that happened a long time ago, can be complex and is not always precise. This applies to everyone, including Trump, Carroll, Carol Martin, Lisa Birnbach, and Christine Blasey Ford. Trump had difficulty remembering details about his first two marriages. Similarly, Carroll, Carol Martin, and Lisa Birnbach could not remember the exact date of the incident involving Trump. This doesn’t necessarily indicate trauma on the part of Martin and Birnbach, but rather the natural fallibility of human memory. As for Christine Blasey Ford, it’s been noted that Trump made a series of false statements about her testimony. Experts have stated that Ford’s account of memory during the event was accurate.
  24. From yesterday's court case it seems Trump cannot remember when he was married to his first wife, Ivana. She was the one who in their divorce case brought a "rape" charge against him. He also cannot remember what years he was married to his second wife Marla, along with what she looks like, after mistaking Carroll for Marla in a photograph. Seems paradoxical that one of his main defence arguments is that Carroll cannot remember the exact date of the 'rape'. He himself cannot recall long past events yet he continuously attacks Carroll for the same reason. Moreover, it’s not uncommon for people to forget, especially when it comes to traumatic events like rape. Previously, Trump had also attacked Christine Blasey Ford after she could not remember certain details when she was a witness in the Senate hearing against Brett Kavanaugh for his alleged sexual assault. An expert talking about PTSD or trauma 'cautions against dismissing a sexual assault survivor’s credibility because they can’t remember every single detail of an alleged attack.' 'Would you say this about a soldier who is having difficulty reporting what happened when his buddy got killed in that firefight?' Donald Trump Messes Up His Marriage Details in Testimony (newsweek.com) Trump’s Attack Against Christine Blasey Ford Mischaracterizes How Memory Works, Experts Say
  25. Trump usually weaponizes his big mouth against his opponents and the law, but in this case, it seems he has shot himself in the foot. A video with his statement from the NY Fraud case about the value of 'Mar a Lardo's billions' was entered as evidence into the E Jean Carroll defamation. Defamation damages can be determined on the defendant's ability to pay and now it seems the sky may be the limit. Trump also stated in court that he has no intention of stopping his defamation. I suggest the Judge Kaplin may set significant punitive damages to stop him from doing so. Trump's abusive rhetoric has been his sword, yet he continually falls on it.
