  1. I am looking at building a small retirement property . Not a big fan of concrete boxes with rising damp . Occasionally I have seen properties built off the ground. also something that look like prefabricated units. Not so much the small units seen at resort type rental accommodation. But something potentially portable. Anyone considered or looked at these units or maybe owns said items.
  2. Question, is it open.. last time I went up rt 9. ? I saw signs to bang pa in covered in black netting.
  3. I find myself using the tollways in Bkk from time to time. Can someone pls help and tell me where to get an easy pass. My understanding is that it is a physical card. So where to buy and where to top up. Cash is a pain on the tollways also I find myself using route 9. . Am I right that the mway is only on route 9 ?
  4. Ok well gives me a few ideas. Sooooo the next question is editing software. I hear Capcut mentioned but also hear talk about privacy. Also what are old using for storage ? Portable hard drives maybe ?
  5. Maybe a channel. I wonder what some of the big vloggers use. Noel Philips aviation channel is a fav of mine. He suggests gopro 11 . I guess a learning curve. Might try a Akoso
  6. which gopro is the next question
  7. Maybe called action cameras. I am looking a purchasing said item. Most folk i talk to mention gopro . I have seen some negative review s regarding gopro. I am looking at some of the cheapo makes such as Akoso. I am looking at something compact Any thoughts good or bad.
  8. Has anyone tried to obtain any of these types of products in Thailand . I was thinking of products like Ozempic.
  9. There is this place, albeit out of town 88/9 Sueb Siri Rd, ตำบล ในเมือง Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima, Chang Wat Nakhon Ratchasima 30000, Thailand | Instant Street View Also there are bar s drive past la panza away from suranee monument . Most bars are for young thais. Newish bar next to Srivithai hotel not too far from the old bus station. The monkey bar if you want more mature farangs. The monkey bar not far from the catholic school.
  10. There is always the monkey bar. 😇 There are new bars opening in old city . I mean leading down from 5 ways towards the monument. Beware of the ladies around the monument LOL There are establishments that deal with physical needs. Korat is a big place if you look hard enough you can find whatever makes you happy. KK has one advantage in that you can get cheap flights to BKK. The drive from Korat is unpleasant IMHO
  11. I managed to gather a load of miles and have some status. A load are expiring soon. A redemption flight hah hah hardly worth the fuss and bother. I barely get more than a discount on TG. Not only that the luggage allowance in miserable. I paid a little more with eva and got more than double luggage allowance. The extra luggage allowance I could get on TG does not make up the difference. The status extra allowance does not work on Eva. I am left with the impression that short haul redemption flights make better use of the miles. It appears you have to use up all the miles to avoid loosing miles
  12. reduction leaves awful scars
  13. Thanks for that. In general I would say If you want busty women go somewhere apart from the far east. BTW I have been not been anywhere near walking st in years. Is it still there ? . Same applies for soi 6 etc and soi cowboy(BKK). Is Nana Plaza still around ? plenty of silicon there I guess. Actually the saline implants are considered safer but less convincing. (so I am told). My investigations suggest only 2 sizes bigger .
  14. I just wondered how many member have had ladies asking for money for the above. Essentially she is after a large chest. I am trying to point out the risks long term and pointed there maybe issues later on in life. Prices vary a bit . Promos starting from sub 10000 to 20000 plus . Plenty of clinics. Some clinics in BKK look competitive.
  15. I am looking at travelling to the western end of the death railway. I understand the route is possible by bus or van from Kanchanaburi to the border and by various means across no mans land and onto Dawei and travel to Thanbyuzayat . Anyone done this ? Comments appreciated
  16. will we see cheese and butter at sensible prices ??
  17. Noooo they use to do fast speed boats. Crammed in tight with life jackets and helmets. Bags tied to the front . Took about 8 hours for the Boat journey finished at Chiang Kong. Mini bus to Chiang mai. 2 day option available
  18. I did the one day route from Luang Prabang down the mekong and mini bus to Chiang mai. Very small cramped boat. Only did it once.
  19. The gf tells me that direct trains will start soon. She cannot possibly mean the fast trains as the concrete is still being built. I am curious , does this mean that we can get on the fast trains from Vientiane. So a break in Yunan is a possibility. The real pain is getting the laos visa . So a trip to China means 2 laos visas ? 40 USD each way.
  20. Thank you all for your comments about Taiwan. It appears that self drive hire is an option and available via skyscanner. Looking at other countries. Has anyone tried self drive in Laos or Vietnam ? Have looked at Myanmar and found a car hire firm in Yangon I have got so used to cheap car rent in Thailand
  21. self car hire available looks interesting
  22. Colleagues i use Eva sometimes from London and see onward flights to Taipei. Has anyone done it and what did they think of the place. I was thinking of a few days.
  23. Rural life can be so much fun, but your life is never your own. Trust me village gossip is real. You can almost be the only falang. Any comments.
