Nonthaburi checked very closely at extension time, but never, ever mentioned it during 90 day reports that I ended up doing in person half the time. Rejecting bank letters is the newest game, but second or third try is a charm.

Has anyone here stayed at "Nirun Condo's"?
There are some great monthly rates $300-$400 USD, but seem too good to be true for a central walking location.
I have been fooled by pictures before, some are experts at it.
I just sold my condo, and staying in a branded hotel and got a free room upgrade.. prime BKK location. 400 per night Inc.., with daily maid service and all utils.. 12000 per month.. Believe it... To buy this room as a studio would be 4 million, even now. I would set a budget of 10k per month in Patts, and expect something similarly nice.. Patts is way more overbuilt than Silom, Siam, Sukhumvit, etc.. Land is quite a bit less, too. The boss told me they were getting 1500 per night before the crisis.... Oh, and my deposit is 200 on the key card..

Compared to lots of other things in LOS, CMU is pretty damn good. Most of the students are a step above (if not miles), campus is nice. Superb lettuce at Royal Project (not the outdoor market).

6 plants might not be too far off. There is always a power struggle over, who is going to make most of the money, and a reluctance to let the foreigner do anything.

It's mostly a huge gym, but there are offices as well. All the motorcycle taxi drivers in the area will know the place.
Thanks, again.. You just never know how they name buildings. They even have uni girls living at Sea of Love Mansion.(but don't tell anyone).

Take the BTS to Thonglo. Exit via Exit 1, and walk to the front of Soi 53. Tell one of the motorcycle taxi drivers there that you want to go to "Racquet Club." A few minutes later, you'll be there.
Thanks, Tyler. Is Racquet Club an office building, or what?

Defo quite a few grumpies in there, not sure they're all Ozzies tho.....!n my experience, it's quite a mix of expats there, North Americans, Aussies, Brits etc mostly regulars with high season tourists......the Western food is very good, plentiful and offers excellent value for money IMO. I thoroughly recommend the all inclsuive breakfasts.........................
That may be the longest running bar on Moonmueang..they did seem to dig their heels in and improve, while others were busy translating signs into Mandarin, etc.. There have been some hilarious posts about the place over the years. Is the closure of Johns Place permanent? Actually met some Japanese expats in there, during its self destruction.

I am scheduled for next week, test before 10am, get results in the evening. 2600 all inclusive, which is the best deal I have seen. Anyone have any tips on getting to the clinic? Looks fairly straightforward on a map.

Need to do mine but can't remember what paperwork is required.
just visit the banks that withheld taxes on intetest. Then go to a revenue office. They will do it for you. assuming you have a taxpayer id, if not, you may have to go to your specific location. I had a yellow book...I would think some kind of proof of address would work. I have filed in three different offices, and all of them were po!ite and friendly (IOW, not like IO)Don't incriminate yourself.

yes, you are needed, but they wont admit it. There are almost zero part time gigs. Age becomes a factor, too. Even if you wanted to volunteer, it would be a huge hassle.

i heard it is 1200 at Swamppy....a few said they worked around it, but it is set up so you pay a service fee, Any news on that?

So if they LOSE 8 pounds, they do not need as much water, in fact 4 oz less according to your opening sentence.
What is an ounce/pound in real money?
I already stated that rule did not include extra for sports..

an ounce for every two pounds of body weight, was the rec in arizona..and that was not including extra for sports. Seen guys lose 8 pounds during one football practice. I do unsweetened gree tea, original thai brand, 65 thb for 200 grams.

Strangely, I've met many Americans and Japanese expats but have never met a single Australian and they are supposed to be number 3....
Where do they hangout?
lot more in Patts percentagewise than CM. Phuket, too.

Seriously? I didn't know about that. Why should they get preferences?
I was one of the people who would queue up at 4 am in the morning hoping for a chair to sit.
several years ago Nancy, set up something similar with the CMEC. It only lasted a few sessions, though. Dont recall why. But the complaints about CM Immigration were really piling up. I would say it was more of a reason for me leaving CM than the air pollution.

I noticed Hooters in Patts does not sell from 2-5pm...I wonder what that is all about. Must be 200 bars, still open, selling during those hours, and Hooters is more of a restaurant than nearly all of them. Higher rent, thicker envelopes?

The Dukes sells quality dogs by the box for takeaway..imported from the us....might be quite a bit better deal than rimping.....not sure how hot dog imports have been affected by our favorite virus.
I just checked my local kroger in Wyoming..3.49 for Hebrew National..close to a pound..beef dogs.

On their better days, the tour guides sell river tours for 6-700 THB and put them on a commuter ferry that costs 15 THB. The Japanese had some clout in the North, though. I think Japan Army HQ was in Lampang during WW2.

I am over 60
i own a condo in Thailand and have the chanote
i have a Thai bank account and can put 800,000 baht in it, no problem
buying AXA insurance for a year is no problem
my question is should I apply for the retirement visa while I am in my home country, or while I am in Thailand?
at home..and you will have almost two years to bring in your 800k, quite possibly at a more favorable rate. Of course, every embassy is different, all can seem kind of rude..but I did mine in DC with a lot less grief than queing in the dark for an extension in chiang mai. You also get free Multiple entry during the first year,,that would be 1000 thb per time or 3800 for unlimited right there..a border bounce at the end of your first year gets you another year, and that is easier than any IO i have been to...can be a pleasant trip in better times,,van from Chiang Rai, etc..

I've really no idea what you're getting at. Sorry.
A lot of people, who had airline tickets to BKK last Winter had their flights cancelled, and are still waiting on refunds. My CC would have covered it, but apparently many buy tickets through less full proof channels.

CMULI does certified translations.. was 300 pp. I had to have my passport translated for a yellow book. Make sure the translation of your name is consistent on all documents. Also heard Star Visa was good.
