  1. Sorry for those unfortunate to be on this VR and hope that the injured recover well. One would think that these vans would be kitted out with seat belts....and unfortunately nothing will ever be done about these drivers driving at breakneck speed. Nobody cares!

  2. I am terrified of snakes and am constantly being presented with these gifts (especially cobras) from my cats. Sad thing is when I call for help from the locals the snakes get killed. How did you manage to catch the snake? I guess I need to face my worst nemesis and try and save these creatures in the future.

  3. To the Wine Connection group.....thank you so much for your extremely generous open party celebrating the opening of your new branch in Kata last night. The delicious free food and drinks flowed freely for hours on end for hundreds of people. Your generosity was unbelievable and your professional organization from parking to true hospitality with great entertainment was at its total best!!! Congratulations to you and your wonderful staff and I wish you all the very best with your latest venture in Kata.

IMO this is just what Kata needs and you deserve to succeed big time! You can be assured that we will be back on a regular basis to enjoy your lovely restaurant.

  4. I agree with Misterman - the tacos at Rick n Rolls are great. A company called Ben's Deli runs the kitchen at Rick n Rolls. They are open every Monday to Saturday from 9:00am - until 6:00pm and Saturday evenings until 11:00pm.

Ben also delivers take away Mexcian food and delicious sandwiches at affordable prices to the Kata and Karon areas only.

  5. Yes her husband died and she had to move. She is opposite Don's Gym on Ket Kwan Rd. The one that goes to Big C.

There is also a new used books shop in Nai Harn called Book Cafe. Just past Sinbi Muay Thai coming from Kata. Right by that tiny litte gas fill up pump.

Her name is Julie, I think. She closed down the book-store in Kata, that was called The Good Earth, due to a hike in rent. At the time, her husband Pan (used to own Pan's Lighthouse on the site of Jimmy's Lighthouse before it was built) was definitely alive at the time she moved.

She then went into partnership with another lady and they opened up a cafe cum western food store in the shop-houses in front of the Patak estate close to Hayaek circle. That went out of business in a year and I haven't heard of her since.

If Pan has died, that is sad news indeed.

Hi KarenBravo different lady and different book shop. :) Julie closed her shop years ago and as far as I know she teaches yoga in Rawai now.

  6. Hi Thaigerd

Quite agree with Steven about the daytrip dive sites. During the low season months the divers tend to see more marine life on the daytrip dive sites (Koh Rachas/Sharkpoint/King Cruiser Wreck areas and around Phi Phi)due to the less amount of divers and less boat surface traffic as during the high season months.

    Hope this helps your friend.
