For reference - the latest published in International media (22 September 2022) "Thailand’s acting prime minister, who earlier this week called for measures to halt the baht’s slide, said the government won’t meddle with the central bank and how it handles the currency. The Finance Minister told to “only talk” to the Bank of Thailand about the baht’s recent slump. That’s a walk back from remarks on Tuesday when he said he wants the baht back at 35 to a dollar. Yes, both the Government and "local" lotteries. When I lived in Thailand, I was a regular punter on both lotteries and I won more on the local village lottery than on the Government one. All my winnings on the Government lottery were paid out by my local gold shop with a commission of 20 baht on 2,000 baht wins. The agent who processed my local "mafia" lottery (numbers based on the relevant Government ones) used to bring my winnings in cash to my house, in one instance 30,000 baht in 100, 50 and 20 baht notes in a plastic bag!)

Pattaya deputy mayor warns beach vendors of placing kites on beach

Very interesting and thanks. With apologies for replying from Cambodia (for which I get criticized), but this is in complete reverse here. It is the low fat and skimmed milk that is disappearing from my local supermarket shelves to be replaced with full cream milk - stacks of it from Australia (Cowshead), New Zealand (Anchor), France (Elle & Vire) and Denmark (Emborg), to name a few. Being a diabetic, full fat milk is not recommended.

Thank you, yes I know. 37% of the World's fruit and vegetables are supplied by China (Wikipedia). I have been eating Makro's frozen Chinese peaches since pre-pandemic days and interestingly, I have never been tested for, or experienced symptoms of Covid-19. 3 of my jabs were Chinese Sinovac.

78-year-old foreigner seriously injured after paragliding fall in Rawai
Burma Bill replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
From link to OP: "Previously, staffers from the Rawai Municipality warned tourists and locals paragliding against doing so due to regulations and rules prohibiting such activities in this area" Need I say more, other than no sympathy from me! -
with respect, to my knowledge the CP group is not a major player in Thailand's sugar industry. Where I lived in Isaan, everything linked to sugar was owned by the Mitr Phol Company, which must now be "rubbing its hands"! Reference Wikipedia: Mitr Phol Sugar Corp is a privately owned group of companies, mainly owned by the Vongkusolkit family..........Mitr Phol is ranked as the world's fifth largest sugar producer,[2] and the largest producer in Asia.......... It is Thailand's largest sugar producer and the second largest in China.......... Mitr Phol has operations and investments in Lao PDR, Cambodia, and most recently Australia. In Thailand, Mitr Phol has six sugar mills, .....................The locations are: Suphan Buri Province (Mitr Phol Danchang mill) Sing Buri Province (Sing Buri mill) Chaiyaphum Province (Mitr Phol Phu Khieo mill) Khon Kaen Province (Mitr Phol Phu Viang mill) Kalasin Province (Mitr Phol Kalasin mill) Loei Province (Mitr Phol Phu Luang mill) Khon Kaen Province (Ban Phai Bio-Hub Industrial Estate) (under construction)

With respect, not where I lived in rural Lanna and Isaan. Maybe the unfortunate situation when purchased from supermarkets/shops in cities, but always fresh from my village market stalls. Some villagers even had a table by their front entrances offering home grown "surplus" for sale.

Another Gigantic Roadside Sign Featuring Prawit Spotted In Buengkarn

A "larger than life" character??? -
For reference: Being a Type 2 diabetic, any canned food in syrup is a "no, no". As other posts have suggested, I buy frozen peaches from MAKRO in Siem Reap (Cambodia) where I now live. I used to live near Phayao and I know you have a MAKRO . Here frozen peaches are sold in 1 KG bags and are currently on special offer. My freezer is now well stocked! I use sweetener on them. FZ HALVES PEACH-ARO-1 KG Code 150183 $2.40 -16% $2.00 (about 74 baht!!)
