  4. Three Thais planning to travel to Malaysia .............were in for a surprise. The travellers had been crossing a checkpoint into Malaysia .................................... When Malaysian authorities took urine samples from the three, they were found to have traces of marijuana in their bodies. The tourists were fined 50,000 baht, and jailed for three days. https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/drugs/3-thais-detained-and-fined-in-malaysia-following-drug-tests
  5. For reference: (IMO read Burma instead of Myanmar) https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/3/14/myanmar-major-ethnic-groups-and-where-they-live

  8. With a little help from their friends??? "Falcon Strike", running from Aug 14 to Aug 25 in the northeast of the country, was meant to "strengthen relations and understanding" with China. .......................................... contingent will include fighter jets, bombers and airborne early-warning (AEW) planes...................................... drills will involve training for "air support, strikes on ground targets, and small- and large-scale troop deployment". https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/thailand-china-joint-air-force-exercise-falcon-strike-military-drill-2879881 (IMO forget a "General" Election, Generals will be in charge again!!)
  9. Oh dear! Not another substance that can affect Thai drivers like alcohol, marijuana and Ya Ba. The roads could be even more dangerous. Personally, I will no longer use Passenger Vans when visiting Thailand.
  10. The prawn farmers will be happy!!!

  14. I wonder if this joint military exercise will be affected by adverse weather????? (from today's Yahoo News 13 August 2022): "The Chinese air force is sending fighter jets and bombers to Thailand for a joint exercise with the Thai military on Sunday. The training will include air support, strikes on ground targets and small and large-scale troop deployment ..........................................The Falcon Strike exercise will be held at the Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base in northern Thailand near the border with Laos. Thai fighter jets and airborne early warning aircraft from both countries will also take part" https://uk.yahoo.com/news/china-sending-fighter-jets-thailand-041808182.html
  15. If this was the case (and I personally believe so) then an utter disgrace Bangkok Hospital. In the first instance you should be providing sympathy, care and treatment to victims of this very tragic disaster. Medical expenses can be finalized much later. I shall never recommend Bangkok Hospital to anyone, and the fees - rip offs!!! If you want to sue me for defamation, for reference I do not live in Thailand, so stuff your Thai Law.
  16. During my latter years in Thailand, I lived in Chumphae (Khon Kaen Province) and both KK and Udon Thani were within easy reach. I preferred KK as I personally found Udon a sprawl and less convenient. From Central Plaza in KK it was a short drive south on route 2 to the area where Tesco Lotus, MAKRO and Big C were conveniently located near each other. Opposite Central Plaza in KK is a park where you can relax or stroll with your children. In the attached photo, the park is to the left near the ornate arch across the road. I appreciate there will be others who favor Udon - it is a matter of personal choice. The OP does not mention "bars" so no comment.
  17. With the greatest respect, surely these sixteen victims are clinging onto life with the use of respiratory machines??? I wish them all a speedy recovery.
  18. using monkey wrenches???????
  19. During pre-Covid-19 days when I was a Tourist Police Volunteer in Khon Kaen, Bus Station Terminal 3 had no prominent Information Office, just a small office window for general information and not bus companies and their services. Each bus company had its own office with its own telephone number. I have found this on the internet, but offer my sincere apologies if it is not relevant: KHON KAEN BUS TERMINAL 3 Address: ถ.เลี่ยงเมือง Mueang Kao Sub-district, Mueang Khon Kaen District, Khon Kaen 40000, Thailand Phone: +66 43 471 563 Regarding Kalasin: Phetprasert Tour has 3 daily buses from Khon Kaen to Kalasin
  20. After a 6,000 mile journey, perhaps the toad needed a leek!!!!
