  1. UK Bingo call "22 two little ducks" - quack, quack Mister Prayut, I wonder who will ruffle your feathers??
  2. My word, a heck of a journey. 1,438 km via route 2 (the most direct) - a return journey of 2,876 km!! Is this a daily service?? I hope the buses are regularly checked and serviced - especially the tyres!!
  3. A very interesting project involving Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai, but with the greatest respect shouldn't it be named "The Lanna Project"??
  4. The GLO may no longer pay winners in cash, but what about all the gold shops, especially out in the sticks, which, I am sure, will still pay winners in cash. My local gold shop always paid me in cash - for a small fee! So forget "cashless societies" outside Bangkok in country bumpkin land.
  5. ............................... no speculation from me!
  6. Helicopters to drop water to stop flames from reaching the controversial "hi so" residential estate of the local Thai Judiciary adjacent to this National Park?????
  7. With the greatest respect - why should they be wearing masks? I am sure most of the tourists now arriving in Thailand do not wear masks (as here in Cambodia).
  8. So, unfair Thai protectionism in the cinema industry as well. If cinema goers would boycott screenings for just a week, I'm sure the "big 2" would change their minds!
  9. Thank you - you are correct. I was misinformed so I checked with the UK Government website. My apologies.
  10. If he is deported back to the UK, then he will be entitled to all his State OAP back increments and bonus payments that were frozen 11 years ago! (if he was entitled in the first place).
  11. A packet of sunflower seeds????
  12. For reference from link to OP:- A key suspect is Mek Rama, a businessman and the owner of a famous hotel in Phuket who is the husband of actress Yardthip Rajpal. He was arrested during the raid at a luxury house in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi district. The police seized more than one billion baht worth of assets for examination under the Money Laundering Act. https://tna.mcot.net/english-news-1144828 Apologies to Moderators if this is not allowed.
  13. I sincerely hope so - get rid of the yellow anti-democracy and pro-military dinosaurs in Bangkok!!
  14. Are the police pulling out all the stops to prevent this??
  15. Interesting - surely he could have braked and then later restarted with a "hill start". I note hillstarts are not included in Thai driving tests like they are in the UK.
  16. What a laugh, another load of verbal clap trap from the police in Bangkok. It will NEVER be policed up North. During my 20 years of retirement in rural Lanna then Isaan, every Songkran it was the same routine and my duty to drive the family members all packed in the back of my pick-up, along with the iced water drum and water pistols, to join in the water drenching in our local town. As driver and sole occupant of the cab, I always locked the doors and windows to prevent myself from getting wet and covered in white powder. I never drank alcohol doing this so as to keep 100% alert of the many inebriated idiots around me. The windscreen wipers were always active. I relaxed with a beer in our local bar when back home. Such rules coming out of Bangkok some 800 kms away, were usually ignored. I no longer live in Thailand, but I am certain it will be "as usual" this time around.
  17. With respect, not forgetting the blocks/packs of ice and buckets of white powder!
  18. I totally agree - home is Ukraine, admittedly minus the Russian illegally annexed region in Crimea. Hopefully this will be rectified when the Russians are beaten into retreat!
  19. Yes, Cambodia via the FPCS (Foreigners Present in Cambodia System). For reference: The “FPCS” applies to all foreign nationals, including tourists.................record foreigner information when they arrive in Cambodia at any entry point. It will also record their data when they leave Cambodia. The onus for registration on the App or at a police station is not yours, it is the resposibility of your hotel/apartment/house owner/manager. https://ips-cambodia.com/foreigners-present-in-cambodia-system/ My landlord registered me on the App using his smartphone.
  20. Yes indeed. Sulphuric Acid is used in the manufacture of Heroin from opium, Cocaine from Coca leaves and in the process to make metamphetamine (ya ba in Thailand) . https://www.unodc.org/documents/india/ccch2.pdf
