I used a notary/lawyer for a friend and it was 1,000b, (prove of life for a French guy) funny thing was the lawyer could understand and speak English very well, but he couldn't read it, he really had no idea what he was signing and it was all in French.

Depends where you live, trying to find bank staff that can understand English is not always easy. They phone their center then you have to use them to translate.

Its the same old question init Rent or buy what type of accommodation are you happy to put up with, power, Wi-Fi, water and drinking water, service charges, alcohol at home or out in bars or restaurant, you want eat Thai food or western food, transport, 'entertainment'. Stay home eat at home, drink at home, no rent, 20k a month. 60 k a month easy peasy 10k a month rent and off you go.

Usual driving standards here init. When I was taught to drive never sit in stationary traffic with your vehicle in gear with your foot on the clutch, and apply the hand brake. I still do this even with an automatic in N and handbrake on.
