Possible because he couldn't get any alcohol, they do say some people act strange when they can't get a drink.

They brought the virus on the 20 January 2020, and have paid no compensation for the billion of baht that the people have lost and are still losing,

So that big 'ol nanny state aint working for ya.
So you're going to put your trust in Thailand after all?
I'm glad that's over.
Australia recommended that AstraZeneca's Covid-19 jab should not be given to people under 60 as after effects and deaths have increased.

The only disturbing news I am getting from friends in Bangkok is that they are coming up against a wall of " Thais first " which I find ridiculous.
If that is the case it is because of the trickle down effect of xenophobic and nationalistic verbal assaults on TV from certain people in government.
It needs reporting to Embassies if this is the case, as this will be taken very seriously and passed on up the chain to Western leaders, who are supplying South East Asia with technology, science and surplus vaccines.
All other countries are only vaccinating their own citizens first, if you are a non citizen you can still receive an injection if you are willing to pay for it.

Oh boy another one. Those "Chinese vaccines" so many were endlessly dumping on now don't look so bad.
AstraZeneca supplies are coming from the US not China.

As this addressed to English speaking foreigners, could someone please tell me how many of these people have been tested positive to covid19 in Phuket?

Oh dear......the "hang 'em high" brigade are still over on the American killing his Thai wife thread. Wonder how they'll react to this. Probably with hypocrisy.
Two different scenarios, this one sounds of a possible abusive husband who had a girlfriend outside the marriage, the other a foreigner who had been previously accused of attempted murder and possibly entered Thailand illegally via Cambodia.

A foreigner stands out like dogs balls in some of these more non-tourist areas. Even in larger Isaan Cities. You may think you are invisible, but you are not.
He was caught in Hang Dong in Chiang Mai where many western foreigners live, maybe it was one of them that notified the police of his whereabouts.

There is no background check if you get a Non-Imm O for reason of marriage, whether at an embassy, or upgrade from a tourist visa in Thailand. This seems like a requirement for Non-Imm OA only.
The only visa that does not require a police clearance is a tourist visa which he may have had to get into Thailand as an early report said that he had arrived via Cambodia.

so he was arrested in 2019 in the usa for murder and in the same year he came to thailand.
For those charges he should't be bailed. If bailed his passport should be revoked.
the body of his wife was found rather by tracing his SIM location, rather than by dogs. Maybe dogs were used to find the spot, within few hundred meter radius
In shows how Incompetent the American criminal law is and how lacks a daisy the Thailand Immigration can be at times.

Personally, I wished they'd use their energy to effect change here in Thailand instead of leaving.
Alas the ones who have led the way to change the way of Thailand are now either exiled or in prison and refused bail.

Great to see how up to date WHO are as they are now releasing their news and opinions on 2019 figures as Thailand it self are using the 2020 data

Just as other countries have halted AstraZeneca vaccine because of problems that have occurred in Europe.

Thai PM postpones vaccine jab indefinitely due to technical problem
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s planned injection of AstraZeneca vaccine, scheduled for 7.30am on Sunday, has been postponed indefinitely due to a technical problem.
An official, attached to Government House’s spokesman’s office, said today that the Disease Control Department of the Ministry of Public Health had notified Government House of the postponement, which is due to the lack of letter of certification from the British pharmaceutical Company, AstraZeneca, covering the first shipment of 117,600 doses to Thailand.
He explained that this particular shipment came from South Korea. Although there is a letter of certification from AstraZeneca, but it was intended for South Korea, it will need a documentation from AstraZeneca specific to Thailand.

He didn't catch it in Tanzania. We know this because Tanzania, along with Thailand's neighbors Lao and Cambodia, have no deaths and very few cases of Covid.
In the event anyone tries to claim Tanzania or Lao or Cambodia are fudging their covid numbers don't bother. Just as in previous months when some accused Thailand of unrecorded covid cases, the "if Thailand has more covid cases then why aren't the hospitals full and why aren't there dead bodies in the streets" crowd quickly shouted them down. Don't temp the same fate from this crowd since there are also no full hospitals or bodies in the streets in Tanzania, Cambodia or Lao, so their covid numbers must be correct.
Therefore he caught it in Ethiopia.
No one stated where he caught it it was only said he traveled from Tanzania to Ethiopia he may have caught on the way he travelled airplane, car, taxi or bus it doesn't really matter. He was returning from the African continent and now diagnosed with the South African strain.

Bow down to China and sign any agreement they give you and become filthy rich as other Army Generals in the past have done in the past Ed Amin comes to mind as he was one the first of many unsuccessful coup which have failed in the past, as in time another General will successfully rid you of your glory and exile you .

I haven’t seen a shred of evidence from anywhere that alcohol bans reduce Covid
Right now I can be in close consort with a (boran) masseuse for an hour or a tattoo artist for half a day, but am not allowed a beer even at an outdoor table. How does that make sense?
No one has blamed beer for causing covid19 only the ones who after a few to many refuse to use masks and disobey social distancing.

Thai cops struggling under debt totalling Bt270bn, says police chief
By THE NATION
Suwat Jangyodsuk
Thai police officers owe a total of Bt270 billion in debts, national police chief Suwat Jangyodsuk revealed on Friday.
Suwat told Thansettakij newspaper that around 209,000 officers had taken loans to support their family or to purchase large items such as cars or houses.
The police chief said he has asked Krungthai Bank and the Government Savings Bank to suspend debt payments.
He is also seeking ways of generating more revenue for his subordinates. One idea is to set up a market for police spouses to run businesses. Another is to look at assets confiscated by the Anti-Money Laundering Office.
He added that he has contacted corporations to request scholarships for police officers’ children.
Suwat also pledged to give a live internet broadcast explaining the police force’s mission and allow members of the public to question him in real time.
“I will not hide anything and am ready for all questions,” he said.

A friend of mine in Texas sent this message today, he had his covid shot on the first day of its release. "We’re doing okay mate, survived the COVID. Everyone is back on deck, The 2nd shot made me very tired, the day after I couldn’t stay awake. Went home & to bed at 1.30, didn’t get up until 6.00 the next morning. I did hear of some not quite nice stories about it. Our ER doctor is in a hospital in Plano "city in Texas" with COVID after getting the first shot, He’s not travelling to well, some good days, some bad, he has a tracheotomy fitted, has real issues with his breathing."

I don't care how many times the PM heard this. You could have had a vaccine by now and nothing has been done. To me this is dereliction of duty. A vaccine now would have the country fully open in less then a year. But to keep hoping cases go down on their own is not going to work. I think Thailand needs new leadership.
Thailand like many other countries are holding off to see if there are any major side effects, Australia will be starting vaccinating March 1 st.
