  1. I changed the bars on the Monster 795 for the raised ones and it gives a far more comfortable riding position I think the bars were about 15000 THB from Ducati.

Did you also revove the gas tank to stop your gonads being crushed whenever you ride it?

  2. Honestly, in that C segment, of the Jap brands, Civic was the best car for a "car guy" in the past few years since the change. Everyone knows that the "most fun to drive" mainstream cars of the Japanese are the Mazda, and then the Honda.

People who think of cars as appliances buy Toyota and people who think of cars as very ugly appliances buy Nissan (in Thailand). Strangely, Nissan has some stylish cars in the US, but not here.

The Focus/Mazda 3 are better in every department.

  4. A superb alternative to a Honda City, should upset Hondas Sales a bit. My LIKES ...Everything about it exept Brain Dead Black, Hatcback Model and that Display Ting.thumbsup.gif .

How ever will I sleep at night knowing you do not like my shiney new black hatch.

Hehe, Honda City indeed. I think Ace should read the review in the Bangkok Post about how the new Mazda 3 compares with his dated Civic. rolleyes.gif

No one with a passion for cars would buy a Civic. Dull, dated and cramped.

  5. We are in the market for a second car in Thailand, I looked at all the cars in the 500,000 -600,000 bht range and for the money , IMO the the Honda City S AT with 117 hp at 589,000 bht seems to be the best buy for what you get.. I also like the the new Toyota Yaris but I find the 86 hp engine a bit anemic.

Check out the fuel consumption too. I got my wife a Honda City, the full option, drives OK, not a fast ride, my Vigo goes circles around it. But the biggest shock is at the gas station, it drinks more than I do! On average use, mid distances it we are lucky i it does 11km per liter and that is that is more expensive than my Vigo!

I also found the small Hondas to be pretty inefficient cars compared to the equivalent cars from other manufacturers.

  6. Neeranam if i remember right you're living upcountry.

My main concerns would be the price and availability of spare parts. There's nothing worse than having a car sitting there waiting weeks for spare parts.

    Good point - thanks

and if you are living in hilly area you have no other choice except diesel with high torque.

If your experiences of petrol engined cars are limited to a 1951 VW Beetle I'd agree.

  7. I was in the same lump of traffic as a Benelli today. It looked good from the rear and had a nice triangular exhaust, but the gas tank put it somewhere in the mid eighties.

Always a pleasure to see a variety of bikes around Chiang Mai, even if no one ever acknowledges anyone else on the road up here.

  8. I can never understand why Thais will pay double the price for a Merc or BMW over a Camry for example when in other countries there is not such a great price difference. I think I would resent having to pay huge tax payments to the government.

I cant understand why anone would waste money on a Camry either. Overpriced, gutless sofa on castors with no brakes.

    No brakes?

    How do they stop?

    Very poorly in my experience

  10. While small capacity diesel engined passenger cars sell will in EU, that does not translate to US, South America, SEA, Australasia, or pretty much any of the rest of the world.. including Thailand.

Wonder why that is? Anything to do with vehicle manufacturers in the other regions NOT having decent small diesel engine technology?

Just the usual ignorance outside of Europe.

  11. I saw a billboard advertising the 2014 Toyota Harrier near CNX airport yesterday. I thought the Harrier was a Lexus model?

Sent from my GT-P3100 using Tapatalk

The Lexus version is called the RX - Harrier is the Toyota version.

I presume it'll be an imported, overpriced simile of the Forskinner. Pointless unless you want to advertise that you have more money than sense.
