If you friend waits until early next year they should find 2024 models with a build date of Nov or Dec 2023 and they should be more heavily discounted than a 2024 build date model as while sales people will try and sell at standard retail price from a consumer point of view 2024 model build date 2024 vs 2024 model build date 2023 no one in their right mind is going to pay the same price for a 2023 build date if they can get a 2024 build

I wouldn't say the numbers are dismal these are the domestic car sales figures for Thailand , in addition the auto brands based in Thailand are expected to export 1,100,000 cars the numbers seem to add up the breakdown is only for the top ten brands The total export of fully assembled cars for the 10-month period (January- October 2023) stands at 927,625 units, a notable increase of 15.86% from the corresponding period of the previous year, with an export value of 591.92 billion baht, 19.03% higher than in the same period of 2022. https://www.nationthailand.com/business/automobile/40033167#:~:text=The total export of fully, the same period of 2022.

Here are the numbers for 2023 to date https://www.motorexpo.co.th/bestselling/ and here are the numbers for 2022 https://www.motorexpo.co.th/2022/bestselling/ It should be said these are reservations numbers and numbers may go down when converted to final sales

According to this article sales are down 7.5% compared to the same period last year not a huge drop and mainly due to tighter lending criteria https://www.nationthailand.com/blogs/business/automobile/40033205

vinny41 replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
There is a new EV package that starts when EV 3.0 ends it is EV 3.5 The new “EV3.5” subsidy was signed off by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin this week and is a scaled-down version of the existing subsidy programme, which offers buyers between THB70,000 and THB150,000 per vehicle https://www.just-auto.com/news/thailand-announces-extended-ev-subsidies-for-2024-2027/?cf-view -
Chinese EV's set to disrupt Thai Automarket
vinny41 replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
It does change the bottom line to the buyer if the choose not to register the vehicle before the closure of the EV 3.0 subsidy program they will be asked to either pay the extra or cancel their order I believe EV 3.0 subsidy program has been extended to 31st January 2024 The dealer is on the hook for the EV 3.0 subsidy amount and they get that money refunded once white label registration has taken place. it places an incentive on the dealer to ensure white label registration takes place asap after delivery of vehicle they must complete everything before December 31, 2023, but if not, they must brake. Trading or stopping accepting reservations Or if there will be a reservation There may need to be an agreement with the customer. Regarding the difference in money that occurs in the case of registration in time, who will be responsible? https://www.prachachat.net/motoring/news-1363512 -

I think your missing the point You say you don't want the DWP to have access to your account ( I think the majority of people would agree) Once the law has been passed DWP will have access regardless of your view unless you have an offshore account or an overseas account where they wouldn't have access https://www.moneysupermarket.com/savings/offshore-accounts-guide/# -

If the law is passed the DWP can view anyone UK bank details where dwp payments are sent Speaking for the SNP, Patrick Grady said the Bill would grant the DWP powers to “proactively, regularly, and at scale, and on a speculative basis carry out checks on the bank accounts and finances of claimants”. Labour former minister Sir Stephen meanwhile said: “This measure will give the Government the right to inspect the bank account of anyone who claims a state pension. https://www.independent.co.uk/money/new-data-powers-could-allow-dwp-to-snoop-on-pensioners-bank-accounts-b2455706.html -

I am sure that you read the Government response to the petition This response was given on 4 March 2016 The State Pension is described in legislation as a “benefit” in order to root it within the existing social security framework as a statutory scheme paid out of monies in the National Insurance Fund. https://petition.parliament.uk/archived/petitions/121267 -

Some MP's don't believe the DWP Sir Stephen Timms, the Labour chair of the Work and Pensions Select Committee, suggested its remit would go further, allowing ministers to view the banking details of any state pension recipients, whose payments are administered by the DWP. https://www.independent.co.uk/money/new-data-powers-could-allow-dwp-to-snoop-on-pensioners-bank-accounts-b2455706.html -

Its interesting some brands no price drops other brands B100K price drops have to wait a couple of years to see if price drops affects 2nd resale value it did when Chevrolet reduced their prices by 50% Personally I think you made the right choice with MG with encased Metal battery and Modular batteries Recent case here of EV rear ended damage doesn't look that bad but as total repair cost is over 70% of insurance capital, insurance to refund B1,100,000 https://www.facebook.com/groups/bydthailand/posts/706543461452438/

From the same article In Thailand, the pickup market has been languishing, with sales plunging over 30% this year, largely due to banks stiffening their lending criteria amidst climbing household debt So reduction in sales is due to more rigorous lending program
