We'll have to differ on what motivates young women to want an old body next to them in the morning.

I agree that at it's very basic it's about reproduction, but in today's world of women power they can get pregnant by a rich old man to take care of the financial and then abandon him for a younger model. It's the money and or power/ fame that keeps them there IMO.

Yep, motivation is multivariate though. Such as laziness, wanting all that glitters, Iphones, nice clothes, not wanting to work in a factory for peanuts  - six days a week. The girls we are focused on, already have a husband/boyfriend with a hard body. Most guys are there as optional extras to assist with the above - in exchange for a little  'easy tenderness' - whilst laying on their backs. Nice resourceful girls !!

    Jokin', right?

The only oldies I know of that had young hot women wanting to associate with their sagging bodies were either very rich, or powerful, or famous. Mick Jagger and Hugh Heffner come to mind.

Well you are all partially right. But I tell you what. I'm of the older vintage and have looked after my body. Very little sun, have very fair skin (smooth as a baby's bum ), can pass as a 25 year old (if you bag my head) and a rigatoni that works fine without chemical assistance. Don't take any medication except for Vit D. Yes, it's about money - but if your body is good - all sins are overlooked by the girls.

Tbh I've never really looked at his stuff, I get sent the odd link from friends. Things are changing in the bar scene in BKK, more sports bars and trendy bars like Oskar. What it will be like when these establishments reopen who knows, there will be changes for sure.

OK - well there are sure to be a few changes. Where one bar closes another opens. But there will always be willing 'participants' on the streets to offer tenderness and kindness (for a small fee). It is what it is. Actually, I don't drink that much so don't really like sitting in a bar with loud music blaring away and the prospect of this silly notion of bar fines and out of control prices.

Excellent news. I hope to see this reflected in the reduction of STIs. Hoepefully, this blunts the  growing numbers of HIV infections, Sad to say that much of the sex trade is the country's shameful contributor to despair, drug addiction, debt and deadly disease.

Tsk tsk . Another petty moralist apportioning blame for an act that bought him / her into the world. Dare I utter that shameful word ??? sex !!

Though you are likely correct in a grand sense, sometimes what you think is 'logic' is a belief based on false assumptions.

You might want to look up 'sociobiology', something first brought to prominence by E.O. Wilson.

First, reality: the purpose of life is more life. Boil it down to its basics, and that's it. That means instinct is the driving force of existence. Instinct is geared towards reproducing one's gene pool. 'Selection' of a mate---what we romantics like to call "attraction"---is really just instinct: What sexual partner is most likely to produce a superior being who will carry my genetic contribution forward? Dress it up however you want, but that's what attraction is all about. Good looks, nice body....what they really say is: superior gene pool.

Yes, a man is unlikely to be attracted to a 60-70 year old woman. The reason is less aesthetic than it is biological. At that age the woman is past the age of fertility. Mating with her is biologically useless. Men, OTOH, can pass on their gene pool until death. That does not make them an attractive partner, but a man slightly long in the tooth, who is in shape, handsome, and shows minimal effects of aging, is a genetic marvel and much in demand, because his gene pool is clearly of a strong and superior nature. Scientific studies bear this out. Lots of 20 year old women would be attracted to Brad Pitt or George Clooney, or Richard Gere until recently, despite two being 50+ and Gere almost 70. Toss in Ken Watanabe to add some ethnic diversity. The women may not understand why (it's genetic), they just know they are attracted. Perhaps not all women, but a good many.

Attraction in a biological sense has many oddities, not just age-related. Depending on where a woman is in her monthly menstrual cycle, she will be drawn to a different type of man. At some points in the cycle she will be attracted to cute; at other times she'll be drawn toward uber virile. Remember that Donna Summer song 'Hot Stuff'? "Wanna bring a wild man back home"? A sociobiologist, hearing that, would be able to tell you where a woman is in her monthly cycle. She doesn't want 16-year old Leonardo di Caprio, she wants the 40 year old version because she's feeling freaky.

At what age does a man become 'too old' to attract a 20 year old looking for a fit gene pool contribution?  45? 50? 60? It probably depends on---the man's gene pool and how well he has taken care of himself.

Studies have shown the trait women find most attractive in a man is a high shoulder-to-waist ratio. The least attractive is a protruding belly. These preferences were measured not by poll but by measuring eye movement and brain wave activity. Notice that 50+ Brad Pitt is still 'cut' or 'ripped'.

So....for the older gents out there.....hit the gym. Eat right. Use good cleansers and face creams to minimize wrinkles. Avoid the aging sun. Do that and you maximize your chance of having a 20 year old get all hot and bothered over you into your Golden Years. Even if all these efforts fail in the quest for bedding the woman of your dreams, at the very least you'll be healthy and fit. As for young guys---get started now keeping yourself fit, because your urge to merge isn't going to ebb at 40.

OR .... don't bother with  any of that and just go with a real roughy - same, same result and cheaper >>> you choose. PS actually true. I am older but have avoided the sun always. School friends used to tan whereas I avoided the sun. I have very fair skin, the body could pass as 25 and a fully functioning tool without any chemical help. Head could use some help as it's always exposed. Look after your body and keep out of the sun.

Not sure I would be bragging about holding hands with a sexy young woman because I pay for it. Does it never occur to you that she would rather be with a young, handsome guy but she suffers your "special company" because she wants your cash..????

I reckon a little self delusion can go a long way. Not bragging. Most Johns go way beyond holding hands. It's all a game and cash is in the equation. Easy, expedient temporary love transaction. She will go with anyone with a healthy wallet.

Thailand's image as a sex tourist destination is damaging for the country. Many tourists stay away, especially from Bangkok. How much more family orientated tourism would Thailand attract if those places were closed down?...

I can find a women myself without having to pay her ????

Oh I see 'hansum man' that doesn't pay. 'Many tourists stay away because of a few women dancing in a bar'. Now, how many are staying away 20, 100, 150, 500, 10 million? >>>>>'damaging to the country' Now how do you know? special insight ? Maybe your crystal ball is broken ? I would say 30+ million people coming to Thailand are talking with their feet and cash.  (more likely you are talking through your hat) Bye now.

No, just making a point that successful assignations can be done in Thailand as easily as in Japan. I knew an old western geezer in Malaysia who had to fight then off with a stick. I know another one in Thailand who's quite obese, but has a very good personality and hence has an amazing gf.

Was it him or his wallet that was obese ??

Yes, totally agree. They also want to close all the bars on Sukhumvit soi 4 and 6 and elsewhere in BKK.

Wow really - They will create a booze drought, thousands of unoccupied hotel rooms and few eateries. Mum, granny and the kids will enjoy that atmosphere (not). Plus bankrupt all the vendors along lower Sukhumvit. I suppose everyone will travel across the world for that - the highlight will be going to the cinema in BKK hahah.

    ...thanks for the advise

Few 'entertainment' areas in 1st world countries that match the openness of Patpong, Nana and Cowboy, why? Because the world has moved on.

Difficult for one of the major tourist destinations in the world like Thailand with changing attitudes to reconcile sex tourism with main stream tourism. The reputation of the former effects the later, which attracts far more money.

I got too old to watch a bored girl dancing around a pole a long time ago! ????

Thanks for your truthfulness. Just what I thought - too old to watch a bored girl dancing around a pole and most likely too bored to have her bouncing on your lap (or more). I would say you are logically in error. Thirty million + tourists are testimony to  the popularity of Thailand  - as it is. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm ok if you don't go. Plenty of other boring places for you to visit where the 'world has moved on' :<)

It's just a matter of time before Patpong, Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy cease to exist. Thailand needs to move into the 21st century, sensibilities are changing. Thailand's reputation as a destination that welcomes sex tourists looks completely out of date...

Oh really ??? Ok let's press to get rid of all the red light districts in all the 1 st world countries hahahah.

Out of date for you maybe not the millions of others. Are you too old to enjoy the said atmosphere ?? My advice to you is to hide under the bed else you mind & sensibilities will be sullied :<)

Thailand has been looking for a way to shut down the bar and gogo scene for a long time. Congrats guys you found it, i would have thought by now you would have realized just how much you need it but .....nope

So are you saying that Thailand has no desire to attract 30+ million visitors annually ?? I guess if that happens, there is always the opportunity to bring families to swim at Pattaya beach and visit a few temples instead.

This tells it all. At 79, he cmes to Thailand to find a bride with his meagre pension. Who on earth does that? And I still dont not understand why he loves Thailand. Temples and beaches? Give me a break!

Sad story !! But let this be a lesson to all the imbeciles that want to come to settle in Thailand - period !! Yeh, yeh I love her, she loves me. All you're in love with is the moist spot between her legs. Sadly there are many idiots like this  sad, deluded man. By all means come on holidays regularly, enjoy yourselves, return home and delete her number on your phone.

Temples. You came here for them, right?

If you take away nightlife and the tourist attractions away from Pattaya, it does become fairly boring. Not many hobby clubs around for non-mongery stuff. I especially miss a healthy DIY scene with maker spaces and like minded folks.

Too right Doctor. Well I guess some can dream of trying to make Pattaya family friendly (smirk). All those faeces riddled beaches can be an attraction globally. Nah on second thoughts - leave well enough alone. With the slightly weakening baht - good times ahead. They need 30+million tourists to return to refill the Thai coffers. Anyone thinking of returning to swim at Pattaya beach, golf, hobby clubs and visiting temple??
