They've simply put too many eggs in one basket, causing them to lose their once famous teflon shield in the process.

Sooner or later that strategy was doomed to fail, not as quickly and spectacularly as with this unexpected virus outbreak, but doomed nevertheless.

Hey people big mistake to gloat at misfortune. This illness may blow over quickly. Who knows. The Thai's have always been doing what they believe is best for THEIR country - not any other reason.

This is pretty bad, even for hotels and holiday rental operators who don't cater exclusively to China.  For just about everyone in Chiang Mai for example, Chinese are about one third of everything.

Plus, other people from other Asian countries are also canceling, from Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, etc.

So now you're down to about 50% .. and everyone is competing for that 50%, driving prices way down, so you end up with revenue that's perhaps 25% of normal.

Can we expect statements from the girls now such as " I love you long time for 500 baht" hmmmmm - if so might be worth going and taking the risk eh guys ??

More of a cat person myself meow. The Melbourne thing was in response to the inhaling of contaminants incase you missed it,I know it's a long bow I draw but when clutching at straws my torment tends to get somewhat twisted like my twisted sister!Get it?Glad to assist in your elevation to your euphoric inducing altitude, just watch out for altitude sickness and be sure to get checked by a professional healthcare worker to make sure it's not the coronavirus.

OMG with such adulation how to I maintain composure. I'm feeling very dizzy, and maybe it's time to search for a working lady that identifies with my feelings about myself. She might even utter those golden words "hello hansum man" - "I love you long time for 2000baht" - I plomis not give you colona vilus :)

Being treated like a dog gives me insight into how a dog feels to be treated by those who think they are superior to others. Please enjoy your feeling of superiority and revel in the knowledge that others are beneath you.Oh and hows the fresh air there in Oz I heard recently Melbourne topped the world with the most polluted air!

Looks like Thailand is in danger of losing the number 1 spot with most coronavirus outside of mainland China.

Thank you, I do enjoy the feeling of superiority when others allow me the luxury of that grandiose feeling. Normally, I'm beneath contempt, but today thanks to you, I have been elevated to dizzying heights. Oz, Melbourne ??? What a tormented, twisted web you weave. :) PS woof woof (the self acknowledged lap do)

It just needs a few more like this, and a few Chinese going home in body bags to really put the exclamation mark on "Tourism is Dead"

Thailand, you have a window to do something meaningful and be a leader...because right now, you aren't even a follower.

    Weak.

Thailand in big trouble now. Only a fool will be visiting in the near future. Just imagine the desolation in Wuhan replicated in BKK.

Looking at these pictures (OP), if the virus doesn't get them, there's a good chance skin cancer will.

Have to agree . Melanomas here we come. And skin like boot leather.

Also, don't like the back side of the one standing  with her a - rse pointing towards the readership. She's probably thinking "Oh please look at me everyone because I'm so beautiful" Yuk.

It won't discourage them it will cut them off, effectively banning Chinese from entering Thailand.

This will not please the governments Chinese masters.

Fffff -(fornicate) their feelings !!- the Chinese would do the same if Thailand had originated this virus. This is a matter of life and death. Not bloody hurting perceived feelings. The Chinese understand this why doesn't the Thai PM.

I'm not "all men", and I don't have to <deleted> every bar girl to find out what she expects from life. Once again: all Thai ladies I met were absolutely honest, whether sex workers or not. You don't have to make false promises to a prostitute. Just pay the fixed salary, and that's it.

OK - I take that back. YOU don't have to **** every bar girl to find out what she expects. In your case, just a few you have associated with wink wink have spilled the beans to you. Congrats - you got it out of them cheaply . Well done !! :)

    1. Many (I didn't count them) . Not every waitress or Thai lady you meet in the streets is a prostitute, but somehow most tourists feel obliged to promise them a rose garden.

    2. I've never met a prostitute that lied to me, and I know dozens. All of them prefer a steady boyfriend (or husband) to a butterfly - and all of them told me that.

All men give false promises to ladies with whose panties they would like to remove. You poor sap. And you are a self acknowledged whore monger as well tsk tsk

Soi 6 every Bar, it seems, is a Brothel been in them all and there is far more than a choice of cold beers, there is many hot Women, or am I day dreaming. Then there is all the other sois and gogo bars are only fronts for Brothels with many people taking a slice of the action. I lived 9 years in Pattaya and the Goverment states prostitution does not exist so that's got to be true for shure.

No doubt about it. The government is correct. Mate they are only cashiers and hostesses serving drinks - much like airline stewardesses. No different for sure.

Make life more attractive for long staying people

Why is there still no real retirement visa and residence permit for those who have given up their lives in their home countries to settle down in Thailand. It is almost unbelievable that Thais let these people stay only on one-year-to-one-year permits while rules are all the time changing. Settle down in Thailand is risky and no possibility to plan the rest of your life. Do you wang to have to leave your new home with 75 just because a moron has changed the immigration rules over night ??

They don't get that expats need security to be able to plan. And they don't get that expats bring money into Thailand and advertise for this country for free if they are treated well.

OH Gawd - don't try to resurrect that old hoary chestnut mate.

That's ridiculous. How do they enforce such laws? By blackmailing the sex workers to testify as crown witnesses against their customers?

Yes, The police track down the sex workers and set up a sting operation. This happens in Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Canada and France. Not sure how men have allowed for this to occur without a fight.  Madness has pervaded those countries.

And sex with condom is also not the same as sex without condom.
Yet people do it with the goal of not having certain consequences.

If a guy has rapist fantasies, bdsm can be a way to act them out in a way that it has no legal consequences. Sure, it's not the same as a real rape, but he might choose not to have the consequences of that, if he can simply go to a legalised bdsm brothel and live the same fantasy.

Look, at the end of the day (much to the chagrin of nasty, entitles, rabid, feminist, non women) just don't bother with any of them. Seek out real women in parts of the world that is not riddled with them. In parts of the world where the infestation of feminism hasn't spread. And there are many.

So what your saying is the woman is exercising power over the man by withdrawing consent during the act with the threat of punishment by legal action if he doesn't withdraw immediately. No wonder blokes come to Thailand and pay for sex when it's now so easy for women to claim rape in Western countries.

Yes, that's just about it - some western women are absolute gluteus maximus holes. Ooooo that feels lovely - a few seconds later - take it out, I don't like any more.
