Well, I just hope that the immigration officer at Survanabhumi airport does his job as he does with everyone who enters the Kingdom. There's an Interpol alert for the arrest of Vladimir Putin, that's the main reason that he's been avoiding traveling since the start of the war.

I had the same feeling as I once stayed for about 2 weeks in a condominium in Jomtien that had mostly Russian families as customers. Many of them actually owned units there, I can say that I didn't have any issues with them, except that their English was almost non existent.

Your point of view is from a western perspective, Thais are not exactly western and most of them could care less about the Ukraine war plus in their minds Russ are just " farangs" like all the other light skinned people who visit Thailand.

Whats happening now is only a discussion, when they sit down and look at the numbers, the small businesses that contracted debt and will go bust, the big investors that supply high quality cannabis to this market, either by producing it locally or by importing. The stakes are just too high for a sudden reversal at this point. What I can see is more and more regulations will be implemented, as to whom is of legal age to buy and smoke, how to behave in public, so kids don't get the impression that pot is trivial. Whoever chooses to get high will continue to be able to, there will be more regulations only.

I think that pot & alcohol just cannot be compared. All the latest medical research points to alcohol simply destroying completely someones liver (plus many other negative consequences). Pot is a completely different animal.

I believe many Ukranians that end up in Thailand have mental health issues, last January I was in a small apartment in Bangkok that I rented through Booking.com and the Ukrainian who was renting the unit next to mine started to make some really weird and loud noises in the middle of the night, I had to contact the building manager who kicked him out. This war is taking a toll on many people, I hope it's soon over, really!
