    If the crypto is in a device such as a pendrive, in an accessible folder in the computer. There are some external devices such as the so called Trezor that encrypt and protect this data. The best is to have everything encrypted with a password that only exists in your mind.

    Diving is a self regulated activity. The instructor or the divemaster knows the ability level of each member of a group. Koh Tao mostly offers easy/intermediate level of difficulty, it's impossible to just guess what the cause of his death was. Maybe he did something very stupid, most probably he didn't.

    Actually, renting a motorbike in Phuket is pretty stupid, even with a license and insurance.

    These elephants from sanctuaries are not domesticated at all. Many come from abusive situations or are orphans. I was once in an elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka, the same bathing tourist attraction in order to get some revenues.

    What I do is to notify first the host, if he can fix the problem, that's perfect. If it doesn't work then I will notify Airbnb.

    The demographics of the typical Pattaya tourist have also changed. Now you see a lot of groups of Chinese and Indians. Most people seem to stay short term, too short to notice the total fakeness of Pattaya.

    This is a different situation, the lady purposely poisoned his drink to knock him down and then steal his belongings. This is a well known tatic among criminal whores.

    Definitely. These people are so evil that many times they have a few mules arriving in the same flight, so they tip the customs about one of them so they get very busy, so the others can pass through without being detected.

    I'm sorry to inform you that the taxi mafias most probably pay "tea money" to the police. So basically they work together. In Thailand, many times when there's a dispute between a foreigner and a local business, if the police is called, they are already sided with the business, that's where their "tea money" comes from.

    Phuket does have many nice, good value resorts, hotels, bungalows. Phuket town can be a very interesting experience, there are many nice, clean, crystal clear beaches as well. Unfortunately there are also many crooks targeting tourists. I am usually an independent visitor, so I dodge pretty well the dark side of Phuket, for some newcomers it's a error and learn experience, I guess.
