  1. Bottom line is that your actions here, point to the inevitable end of your marriage, and you want a damage limitation exercise.

Take everything you can but don't try and cheat or play games for some money you may or may not get back.

Life is for living so start new, and just enjoy. Commitment is fine, but unless there are kids, why bother?

You may store potential issues that do far more damage than just finances.

  2. If you don't trust someone you will never be happy. Feeling at ease is what makes us happy. Yes we can get it wrong sometimes, but creeping around setting traps and getting detectives ect..is a sign that you will never be comfortable with this lady.

Better to trust but not leave yourself too vulnerable.

  3. One mans meat etc. I live in the Cotswolds in UK and a few ,months of the year love Pattaya.

Seedy shithole? or fun in a GoGo / bar, taking the odd trip, chilling in a nice eatery, taking an attractive woman out ( Don't have to marry her) Saunas, Fishing trip,

Life is what YOU make it!

  4. People who like to chat with strangers, assume a friendly " hello" will be returned. Less likely to happen than say the UK as many more issues affecting those who live in Thailand.

Health, money worries, relationships, Visa overstay?, wary of the Farang duping people etc. etc.

For some who retire in Thailand it's a simple life. For many it's not.

  5. How is this overrated, overpaid , fat drunkard so popular . I for one cannot stand him . His idea of funny is based on mickey taking & sarcasm . The show him & his two drunken mates did supposedly building a bridge over the river Kwai sums up the scandalous waste of the license fee by the BBC .

Not everyone wants to watch repeats of the Morecombe and Wise show.smile.png

  6. Just came back from a visit to Nan. Not really a town that lives, some nice Wats 2-3 decent restaurants and that's it. But the surroundings are very nice, some villages with pottery history and beautiful natural sceneries. We also visit Phayao and that is a more living town with many restaurants, small shops and accomodations.Around the lake a beach like scenery where many people picnic every day.

Hmm maybe Phayao a better bet given I will be on my own.

  7. Wow, in all my years (10+) traveling to Vientiane, and going out quite late at night, I've never had an experience like that...and believe me, I look like most Asians' stereotypical image of a Western drug user, haha!

It's true that Vientiane is not really a late-night town for food. There are all-night jok places, but you have to know where to find them. I've had women I've met in discos take me to them on their motorbikes on several occasions.

Can happen anywhere in the world. Called luck..shit happens.

  8. After a certain age there is no reason to blow money on Thai families. Walk away, plenty who will not insist on this.

The obsession some Thais have for making their parents rich, " for giving them life" means they will justify doing anything to a Farang if a result is achieved.

Is this post is serious? I doubt, as seen too many like this.
