I got a Fractal from Invade a few years back with room for 8 x 3.5 HDDs, plus room for 2 x SSDs behind the mobo, a 128 for the OS and a Samsung 2TB for data, also backed up onto One Drive. The HHDs are empty apart from one 1TB for Aomei Backupper.

You obviously need a VERY hi-end machine. The OP does not. My i5 NUC with 16GB RAM, 128 M2 and 1TB SSD does everything I need including fairly intensive music production. And looks a lot better than your fairground concoctions. IMO.

Low end processors? Same as used in many powerful laptops. Low memory? YOU decided how much memory you want. SSDs? You can put an M2 and a SSD whatever capacity you want/need. Put the 'spinners' in a caddy..

Strange that in my 'home-built- i5 PC 10 years ago, I have never had a fan or PSU go tits up, but rwo Western Digital 5400 HDDs and two Corsair SSDs have failed.
