  1. I have just encountered one of the biggest jokes in Thailand................the Annual Vehicle Test. Checked that the VIN number was correct. Tested the brakes on rollers doing about 15 kph. Checked the headlights were dipping correctly, and checked the exhaust gases. That's it. Never looked at the tyres, lights, winkers, wipers, washers. My vehicle passed the test!
  2. And less money in the bank required. Which does seem a bit silly. Married = two people, retired usually means one, but twice as much dosh needed.
  3. Yes, I just had an ultrasound down below. Bht 850, plus Bht 400 because it was after 'office hours' Still had to wait around for a couple of hours.
  4. TransUretheral Resection of the Prostate. Basically cutting part of the prostate away.
  5. You mean you did the work but didn't like the result?
  6. BBC News is free and available, as are most US news channels.
  7. And someone I know got a TURP for Bht60k at the local hospital with no problems whatsoever.
  8. Sorry mate, same real girl for 12 years.
  9. Still looks a 4ing mess whatever it cost.
  10. Was that to compensate for 4Your Ego. Where do you expect your loving wife would get the money to compensate for aforesaid 20-30k Bhts worth of food. Must be a big 4ing freezer. Sorry Lacessit, didn't mean you.
  11. Not according to the Thai Immigration requirements.
  12. Well you DID respond, and I am sure your little girls NEVER go on F'book or Tik Tok or similar. But if they get frustrated having to wait 3 - 5 minutes for the power to come back on, or the router to re-boot, then I feel sorry for them, and you. I am NOT Mr Know it All, I simply think logically. Sorry if it upset you.
  13. If the power is OFF, your PC will not work via Ethernet. or WiFI from your router. Get yourself a data package SIM from your phone supplier so that when WIFI goes down, your phone automatically switches to Mobile Data. Bht 150 a month with dtac, if you are that desparate to stay connected to the 4ing internet.
  14. 44S, can your little darlings not wait 3 - 5 minutes without internet, usually F'book or TikTok rubbish anyway. Tell them to do something else USEFUL.
  15. Agreed, but why not have a bit of time off and forget the internet for a while or turn the PC off when the router is down. Go make a cuppa..........ooops the kettle doesn't work. Have a beer before they get too warm in the fridge. And usually you can connect your phone via mobile data if you really must.
  16. Why not have ONE which both PC & Router/modem are plugged into. One is no good without the other.
  17. Does your last sentence not reiterate what I said,...................................... guaranteed money in the bank before they will lend you some. (of your own money) I applied for an interest free credit card from a UK Bank (the one which has never had sex), and it came with a £1200 limit. I needed more so asked, online, and was immediately granted a £6500 limit..........even though I am only on State Pension. Thanks Richard!
  18. I reviewed my family medical history to find that neither my Mum nor my Sister had Enlarged Prostate. ! 555
  19. My UK Bank just sent me a replacement Mastercard to my address here in Thailand, and a new card reader. Took about two weeks to get here. It is the bank and NOT Mastercard who issue the cards. A debit card is good for up to how much you have in your connected account. A Thai CREDIT card seems pretty useless to me as you must have as much dosh deposited to cover whatever limit you want, so it is basically the same as a debit card, which is used to spend money which you already have, YOUR money in the bank. A CREDIT card is just that, giving you Credit ie borrowing money which you do not have, which you can either pay off or pay interest on the balance. Would a retailer know whether it was a Debit or Credit Card....I doubt it, they get their money whatever card is used.
  20. Strange that a previous post by JDangle asks if he MUST bring currency into the country.
  21. Totally wrong. It must be in CASH of one denomination or another, depending on the exchange rate. A bank book, statement or credit card is no good. Don't ask me why, TIT. The OP was not talking about applying for anything, simply entering the country. As others say, they have never had it or seen it being used, but the IO could refuse entry if he did not like your looks and needed an excuse to deny entry.
  22. They seem to be getting marijuana, hemp & cannabis mixed up in the same sentences.
  23. What a mess the first photo is, looks like you used left over tiles. Do ceramic tiles expand & contract? You suggest a 3mm gap, but that is filled with grout. Is grout comressible?
  24. I guess, in hindsight, you should/could have gone to the right of the motorcycle.
  25. But that doesn't make it right that he is in the wrong!
