  1. You're so lucky. MY nearest Bangkok Bank branch is over 35 kilometres away. How often do I go? Once a month when I go to Makro to update my Bank books. Everything else on the online banking or phone app. No problems in over 15 years, except once when I left my card in the machine. Replaced the next day.
  2. Then whoever told you was wrong. You can, and many do, use Fixed Term Accounts, no more in after opening apart from the yearly interest. You can withdraw from them, but lose your interest.
  3. And Man on the Moon. Elon will tell us next week!
  4. There are so many programmes on Sky and History documentaries about Ancient Aliens, and things like Nessie & Big Foot. Very interesting and thought provoking.
  5. I vividly remember seeing this film. Great.
  6. I hope you mean that transferring MONTHLY as opposed to once a year, you get the flexibility.
  7. Sorry but you are wrong. The heat felt from the outside unit is the heat extracted by the refrigerant and dissipated by the radiator and fan in the outside unit. NO air from inside the room where the inner unit is fitted goes outside. Watch the video again, and read lopburi's answer. Portable aircons are, as you say, useless because the heat extracted from the room just stays in the room.
  8. A 'normal' air-con, be it inverter or old style, DO NOT vent any air out of the room. They merely circulate the air whether cooling it, or de-humidifying it. The only thing which goes outside is the water which it extracts.
  9. Super cheap, nice hotel and lovely resort are not compatible.
  10. Do you think I am going to watch this for 45 minutes? No way. Who was videoing it, who paid the taxi?
  11. True, but you still need that one transfer ON TOP of the 800/400, whereas if 65k per month, you can spend every last satang. If the monthly transfer is coming from a regular source eg Pension or house rental, you will not be getting any interest on it in the home country as it is brought here, assuming that the pension is around the 65k mark.
  12. Totally happy Jim. GBP is up, so just converted some into THB and stored in my Wise Account until the auto transfer on 1st of each month kicks in and I get my transfer, as a Foreign Transfer the next day. The conversion from GBP can also be automated to convert at a pre-determined exchange rate. Works perfectly , for me!
  13. Wise is only a DEBIT card, no CREDIT facilities. It is only your own money which is available.
  14. Used it for years in UK, Europe and here. No problems ever.
  15. Just interested in your reply saying that you will never use Wise.
  16. From where did you get that incorrect information? From my past experience transferring money from UK to Bkk Bank via Wise every month for several years, the Immigration have NEVER asked about the source of the funds.
  17. How can it be cheaper if, on top of the 800/400k in the bank, you also need to transfer money to live from?
