What are you thinking, what's going through your head, do you understand what you are saying?

    OMG, wake up

He is a foreigner, he is a visitor.

When you're a visitor you should be on your best behavior, did your parents not teach you right from wrong?

Forget your thoughts they mean nothing.

was taught to teach visitors with utmost respect aswell.

The DWP has no access to that data AFAIK. Otherwise 1000s, possibly 100s of 1000s, of expat pensioners would be receiving letters in non-signatory countries if they were appearing to avoid the pension rules, requesting residency details. More scare mongering.

maybe not but for certain benifits they ask for your passport. so yes they can easily check. had this a few years ago on return to the uk, also some hospitals are asking for your passport. Even getting a job requires your new employer to see passport/ birth cert again found this out a few years ago. uk  is not so much the easy pushover as peps beleive. unless your an asylum seeker

The carnage is never going to stop, I don't know what

it's going to take to change the way many Thai's drive.

Maybe have tougher driving tests ,where learners have

to test in real road conditions , not on simple test tracks

at testing stations , that's a long term view ,

    regards Worgeordie

This is one of the reasons the Red Bull guy didn't face an unfair trial. If a drunk rice farmer kills  a motorbike rider the fine/compensation is 50,000 baht; Boss paid millions in compensation to the family of the deceased yet is still hounded by the press just because of his wealth and who his family are.

There were no witnesses in this case, yet people here automatically think the foreigner is the victim.

as normaly in thailand it's always the foreigners fault. due to the small brains and out right xenophobia of 99.9% Thais. which by the sound of it you are 1

When I lived on Samui many years back, it was well known that there was an entire subculture there, that were wanted by the law, all over the world, and they were able to stay in Thailand legally, without any repercussions. That is likely the case all over Thailand. Does immigration turn a blind eye? Are they bought and paid for? Are the Thai databases inadequate? Or are they simply indifferent?

nothing much changed on the rock

It is actually against international law and in violation of several treaties, for a private entity or business to confiscate one's passport.....

    Mighty fine negotiating point.

This is true, even by the police in thailand. As a uk passport holder only a uk official can take my passport.  As I was told years ago by a uk embassy official in thailand the onus is on you not to give it to them ie even to look at. Keep it in your hand and show them, if they snatch it out if your hand yes its illegal. But your in thailand so good luck on proving it. Hence always good to have a thai goverment form of id e.g thai driving licence , it proves who you are and has your passport no on it and the new 1s have your registered address

I only come to read these threads now to see what has been flip flopped again and for my daily laughter medicine. You can not make this stuff up. Talking about being inept. Totally delusional as usual.  I often wonder do they hold meetings and check what they have said previously and how effective it went.

It would seem they just throw 'any item in the hat'.  No accountability or monitoring.  I look forward to the next chuckle installment. Will it be today or tomorrow. ????????

And people are wondering why the uk won't accept the vaccinations from thailand to enter. Come on ex-pats who want to return home. Can you blame the uk you should all know thailand cant organize a pre up in a brewery

And for good reason. Thailand - land of fake watches, handbags and......

Seriously, the AZ manufactured in Thailand is not the same as the AZ manufactured in the UK. Different components.

Then we have Happy Larry playing with the number of doses per bottle as well as injecting the stuff in 'other' places.

Lots of reasons to be concerned.

As soon as they lift the restrictions and start to welcome foreigners one more, the daily new case load will take off again (assuming that the decrease we're currently seeing isn't simply being gerrymandered), regardless of how many people have been vaccinated. The UK, US and Israel all show this and, not least of all, so does Phuket. The Thai government now regards the criterion for reopening to foreign tourists as having 70% of the adult population with one jab, so not in any way fully-protected. This means that the inevitable rise in new cases will result in far more deaths than the advanced economies are seeing and, unless the government is willing to accept many hundreds of deaths every day, they will just end up banging the door shut again and returning to some sort of lockdown. Be patient, get the people properly vaccinated, and then try reopening, because the current plan isn't going to work well.

They accept the the road death figs which have been on the up for years ,so why would they give a flying f$$k about covid

Sitting here, I wonder what people are outraged about Jo Ferrari's actions. People are focussing on his cars.....but for goodness' sake, he murdered someone. Prayut's first reaction was that he was damaging the "image" of the RTP....but for goodness' sake, he murdered a suspect. No-one should  have to worry about getting murdered by the police when they get arrested....

    You do in Thailand

  12. After thailand being added to the uk red list and surely most other euro countries to do the same bye bye to tourist arrivals.  Only returning ex-pats and people returning to families like myself will come. Id rather qurantine (locked up) in a hotel in bkk for 15 days rather than pay the silly sandbox money and risk getting covid from a local
