If you really do have a "Non-immigration 1 year visa" you have to leave the country every 90 days.
Not "check in".

I was one day late last year due to a Sunday but the IO demanded Bht1000 at a Cambodian crossing at Sisaket. When i tried to talk with him, he just said "No Bht 1000" holding out his hand.
I wasn't aware that you could make 90 day reports at a border crossing.
-
Yes. 30 days for everyone entitled to a Visa Exempt Entry.

You can apply 45 days early at a lot of offices.
-
There is no 30 day Tourist Visa.
You would get a Visa Exempt Entry.
30 days.
-
Yes you can extend at Immigration by 30 days. 1,900 Baht.

Posting in the correct forum might help.

Npe.
10 minutes ago, Kasane said:"The extension of stay based on retirement" will require visa runs to the border every 90 days while the extension is open. Is that right?
Nope. Report to Immigration every 90 days.

Yes you can convert to a Non Imm Visa as part of the process to apply for a 12 month extension.

You might have a problem opening a fixed account.
I have had a savings account at SCB for 14 years.
Also a number of fixed accounts over the years.
When I went last week to open another fixed account they refused unless I returned with my Wife who had to provide her ID card and tabien baan.
Looking on their website it says that you need a Work Permit to open one.

Your record of 11 extensions doesn't mean much if it's done always in the same place, with the same officer, with the same wife, with a short trip to the office which is not an incovenience for either of you and everybody knows each other.
I would rather trust the experiences of 11 different persons with a mix of circumstances.
13 years of marriage extensions at 3 different offices.
Never a problem at any of them.
A really simple process.

Fixed Deposits are accepted by most Immigration Offices.

We need to know what you actually have in your passport.
If it is a 12 month extension of stay you need to report 90 days after you applied for it

Marriage extension is pretty simple to do .
Don't believe all the rubbish spoken on here.
Photos sitting on the bed? Never been asked for one in 13 years.

From three months before a new subsequent “Extension” application, ensure the required amount of Baht in a Thai savings account, as it must remain undiminished for a whole three months till the application.
Wrong. It is 2 months for every application.
Timing as regards applicant’s Passport: Applicant must ensure there is sufficient time validity remaining on their Passport. Applicant must also ensure they have enough unused pages in their Passport.
You will get the extension depending on the months validity left on your passport.
For the Application for Extension and also a “Re-Entry Permit” application, a total of 3 photos of the applicant 4 x 6 cm, are required.
I only every provide one for the application.
However, avoid orange or black clothes
Load of tosh.
I understand a reason for applying to be given by the male applicant is: “To support my Thai wife”
"Thai Wife" is enough.
To be honest I got bored after that.
You are making it to be much more complicated than it actually is.
Anyone reading that will probably not even make the effort to apply.
It really is not that complicated.

You can apply in the US the same as you did last time.
Don't forget that the OA Visa gives you a 2 year stay.
-
You have multiple entries for 12 months.
Each entry has a max stay of 90 days
You have to leave the country every 90 days.
Not report.
It has always been like that.
Your passport will tell you when your 90 day stay is up.

Some wrong information in the OP.

Scamming At Immigration
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Yes. The rule states that it has to be 65k every month and not an average.
Bizzare I know but that is the rule.
Not sure how someone outside an Embassy would be trying to force you down the illegal route.
