Largely because what the dems didn't realize is that even though Trump is disliked by a lot of people, the only people more universally despised were the dems. I guess I am saying Trump's win is strong enough to be a mandate not because of how big his win was, but because of how nutty and feckless his opponents are. The credibility of the dems is less than nothing at this point.
