Among the events to be held is the ‘Thong Fah on the Beach & Seafood Festival” on Patong Beach, organised by Patong Municipality together with the Phuket office of the Ministry of Commerce,
On behalf of the few remaining restaurants that are trying to stay open, may I say a big thank you to Patong Municipality and the Ministry of Commerce for taking away what very few customers that are in town. Thanks

Be aware that there is two (2) versions of this game marked ‘T’ & ‘F’
‘T’ is the standard version without add-ons.
’F’ version has property prices double of those in the ‘T’ version. In addition to property prices shown on the board, each property is subject to further payment of ‘key money’. It should be noted that property purchases are only valid for 30 minutes. Following the 30 min period the purchaser loses the property.
The games board designers are still to finalise a number of issues, such as the naming of the railway stations and at what intervals both ‘Water Works’ and ‘Electric Company’ will be out of action during the playing of each game.

Could they please budget an amount out of the B14bn to sort out the roads in Patong, they are an embarrassment

“... it make no difference if Thailand opens its borders or not. Our borders are firmly closed to all outbound travellers except for a very few critical exceptions.”
And that is the crux of the matter. Thailand can do whatever it wants to encourage international tourists (& quote fantastic numbers of expected tourists), but while ever these (potential) tourists have to face restrictions in their own countries, and the airlines transporting them, the tourism industry is kaput.

Here’s a suggestion.... why have more ‘food festivals’ on the beaches? I’m sure the few remaining restaurant proprietors would appreciate it

Was he talking about the cash used to buy the property, or the cash that was used to buy the legal judgement?-

Can the various municipalities come up with other attractions other than food festivals? The festivals may succeed in attracting a few customers to the beaches for cheap food, but the bigger impact is they take away customers from the few existing restaurants that are struggling to survive. Restaurants employ locals, buy produce locally, pay rents, pay taxes and pay utilities. Food festivals offer municipalities a short term supply of small amounts of cash from stall rental only.

Doesn’t really support “local” vendors as most of the vendors aren’t local to Phuket
