Went to hua hin for a weekend last year during closed season and experienced that rude behaviour from most shops etc but I noticed in 711 they were not even greeting anyone as they walked into shop. Went to PKK a week later what a difference a few km makes. Beautiful everything.

The government and the BMA have already made many street vendors disappear, and now they are going for the few that remain ? Most tourists don't even use those street vendors anyway. I wish they stopped harassing these people. Before you know it every Thai on minimum wage needs to use the junk sold at 7-11 because all the cheap street vendors are gone !

There is surprisingly a big difference between cities . Pattaya bar flies are really guarded and not into accepting new friends where Bangkok and Chiang mai expats are more than willing to engage in conversation
