How big an issue is coolant mixing with oil, garage has just sent me an itemized bill estimate that looks like it came from a stay at a tier 1 hospital, estimated around 60k with 35k deposit.

It seems okay to drive, but when replacing the oil locally told the young guy to give it a little check for leaks as some sticky fluid on driveway usually, they just do oil, tires and brakes usually, but took a look and he thinks that that head gasket cover was leaking and that coolant was mixing with oil. Turns out the young lad was correct I think, and a week later another garage knocked down a tree to print me an itemized estimate..

Tempted to just keep as a run around, and if it dies, then literally bin it, as long as won't explode on me until i run it to the ground..   They are only guaranteeing the work for 6 months and with other exclusions so really at point probably more prudent and quickly cheaper to get a new yaris or something similar

Cheap solution. Chem-i-weld. Follow instructions. After a few days change coolant and oil. I had a 10 taxis in Australia and used many times. Always worked unless very serious like water pouring out exhaust. Minor problems always lasted st least 10,000kms.  Head gasket replacement here shouldn't be expensive anything over 5000bht look for different mechanic. Get your Thai wife take car or they see farang $. Forget dealerships unless you like part your money quickly.

There was a cracking little Thai restaurant in soi21, off soi Buakhao in Pattaya, that sold packs muffins and cookies at 100 Baht each.

Sadly, the owner has closed up and returned Chiang Mai.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a similar edibles shop.

Easy just make your own, much better quality.

More than half of the riders in Pattaya are foreigners, young and all and couples, many of them are women,

that probably its the only times they ride a motorbike in their life, how many are insured in case of a mishaps?

not many, if at all, i would venture a guess...

No proper motorcycle license would void the insurance even if motorbike riding is included in policy. Insurance companies don't like paying if they don't need. About time motorbike hire is not allowed without a motorcycle endorsed license.  Come to Thailand have fun throw out all sensibility and die. Try hiring a motorcycle in Australia without a license, more chance of winning lotto.:vampire:

The rental bike business booms there in Pattaya without any checks to see if the driver actually knows how to drive a motorcycle. Then these same drivers become overconfident and drive stupidly and fast or recklessly causing accidents. They deserve their injuries and the hefty fines they will soon have to pay for the damage they caused. In other countries you actually need a special license to drive or rent motorbikes. Thailand should adopt a safer attitude towards this. Perhaps change all the motorbike rentals to bicycles. Pattaya is not that big of a city that you could not get anywhere on a bicycle easily enough.

A large percentage of local riders here and 90% of tourist riders here would never pass the riding course required to get a motorcycle license in South Australia.  Mind you if same policy was adapted here cycle renters and RTP incomes would take a massive hit. So keep on riding, killing and injuring people. I have rode bikes since I was 17,  20 years ago I had to do course after letting my Australian license lapse for 5 years while working in PNG. Thought I was a good rider was hard to accept at 50 I still had somethings to learn. I will stop riding  when I feel no longer safe to myself or others. 73 now so probably within next 5 years to keep wife happy.

What happens if you die in Thailand, especially if you have no insurance to transport the body, remains, or ashes back home?

I am particularly interested in if it matters what country you are from and the cause of death.  We are always reading articles about drunk foreigners falling off balconies (I get it.  The last hotel I stayed in had a balcony that I could rest my testicles on if I wanted), motorcycle or other road deaths, suicuide, murder, just natural causes, whatever.

I’m just always reading about these deaths and they never include a post-mortem plan or follow up, and I giess I shouldn’t expect them to as maybe it is common knowledge that I am ignorant of.  I suppose it is a sensitive subject.

What if I was to jump off some high balcony with a suicide note?  I am American.  Does it depend on the embassy?

p.s.  I am just curious and in no way implying that I plan to commit suicide or die unexpectedly in any way.

You will be just as dead as in Australia, USA, UK ect

Depends maybe higher price due to higher alcohol content, if so I'm in favour of that, too many at or below 5% now

It be higher price because the fermenting from 100% grain not part sugar like the super wealthy who make as we say in Aussie. "Gin's pi$$"   Come on more real beer.  After you drink real quality beer the 3 crappy beers will not pass your lips again.

I drank Chang and others for a long time. Then I  had a Pliney the Elder and I will not the current swill even if free.

    Come on Micro brewery.

Many of these venue were illegally staying  open well past the 2am closing time... how will a 4am close time boost revenue by 30% ?

Hospital revenue will increase 30% probably.  It will all make great  entertaining reading  the next day.

I be safe  at home waiting on  morning  news of road deaths and accidental falls from the balconies  of condos.

30% revenue increase what a joke.About 80 % people in Thailand  asleep.  If you said 1% of people awake were in an entertainment venue which is unlikely.

Would seem the only people who would have a chance of making a 30% increase on the days trading would  be prostitutes. Mind you they would look 30% better to bar flies after 2am.🤣
