Vietnam? Have you met any Aussies from Vietnamese descent? They have East Asian mentality, very little in common with Thailand or Cambodia. They value education and hard work, apparently they think allowing low class westerners to live there is not going to contribute much for their development. As they get richer those were going to drop out anyway, why the westerners don't retire in Singapore or South Korea? Because they can't afford it.

This isnt true lmao.. You cant even smoke a cigarette in the streets of singapore, and both singa + malaysia doesnt have a nice nightlife so theres no point going there unless you just wanna take pictures LOL

When your 2x90 day extensions have been used, if 60 day covid extensions are still available then you would apply for one. You would apply prior to expiry of permit to stay. Cost 1900 baht.

As for the agent option you mention...  the agent would obtain a non O (volunteering) with a 12 month extension. That is possible if you had entered Thailand on visa exempt or tourist visa. Not possible having a STV.

You could talk with an agent to assess your options.

Thinking 'covid extensions' is your only option.

Ok thank you, could you tell me what this covid extension is for? it sounds a bit weird to be able to continue to be able to use an extension just because its called "covid extension" and why on the last day of my STV expiry date? thats worrying me a bit ...

That will not work. You may be referring to a visa together with a 12 month extension arranged by an agent.

That is not possible since you entered on a STV.

Obtain a 60 day covid extension prior to expiry of your permission of stay.

Hi, i can only apply 2x90 day extensions on an STV, so how exactly can i apply for a 60 day extension on top of my complete 9 month stay?

-Is there no way at all to apply for a chiang mai 12 month volunteer visa while im on an STV?

    Hi guys,

Getting my STV sorted and excited about things finally sorting out. It's quite cumbersome...

Safetywing have a quite decent policy all in all and reading the details it seems to cover C19 up to 250k $.

Have anyone used it? Why I'm asking is because I'm a bit worried the coverage will be "hard to find" (or how I should put it) making my embassy decline my STV application. So, you who bought it - is the coverage part more "clear" on the final confirmation letter?

(I have another insurance policy for the 400/40k requirement).

Yes use LMG for the 40k/400k requirment

and safety wings for the 100k$ insurance

    it works well

To apply for the certificate of entry you need the $100,000 (3.2 million baht) insurance for the certificate of entry. That could also be from LMG or any other insurance company that provides it.

For the STV visa application you need the 40/400k baht medical insurance from LMG.

Ok i understand now. The only thing i dont seem to get right now is that when im making the certificate of entry on the website you showed me yesterday, it asks me for which visa im already applying for. And i choose STV, as the 2 pictures shown above. So this kinda means that im applying for CoE + STV at the same time

I was thinking about buying the LMG insurance that only cost 3900 baht for 1 year which is the 40/400k insurance that would allow me a STV

And then i wanted to buy the safetywing insurance that covers the 100k$ insurance.. So my question is that as your saying, i should be using the safety wing insurance on the 1 picture as shown above on my first post.. What should i then do with the 40/400k baht insurance paper? whom do i give it to?

You only need the 40/400k baht insurance to apply for the visa. It is not required for the certificate of entry. Only the covid 19 insurance is needed for the certificate of entry.

40/400k baht insurance to apply to the visa is the LMG one? so i dont need the safetywing insurance at all or only regarding applying for the STV that i dont need?

The problem is that the requirements can vary from embassy or official consulate to another one.

There have already been topics that have discussed the basic requirements.

If you need info you should go to the embassy or consulate website for the one you will be applying at. All embassies and official consulates are listed here. https://www.thaiembassy.org/

Most countries are using this site for the COE application. https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/

So i assume in order to get the STV CoE, i would only need the health insurance from safetywings? I wouldnt need the regular LMG Insurance to be CoE? approved

What I was attempting to say is that once you have purchased the insurance, you have one facet of what is required to overcome the COE blessing.

If you should get sick in Thailand, the insurance policy will not pay out a dime until you have paid out-of-pocket 100K (or 200K) baht.

Lol okay that doesnt seem to make sense in my ears, so in theory we're just paying the insurance fee to be allowed to get into the country, if we get really sick and are dying, they would let us die if we cant pay that 100-200k, then whats the point by this rule

  9. The title says it all, this is the biggest thai visa forum on the internet. Why is there no guide on how to get the STV and SETV from scratch?

How can i get that thing, what is the requriments? are all countries + ages allowed to get in? I know that i need a fit to fly certificate, and COE, blah blah blah, but where do i obtain them?

This forum needs a thread that should be updated regulary explaining the changes so people as of today and tomorrow knows on what to do step by step

    It's not a deduction... but a deductible.

Essentially what it means is that you would have to pay out of pocket 100k (or 200k, depending on coverage)  before benefits kick in. It's a crappy insurance policy. Let's hope that whoever buys it never has to use it.

Which benefits? I would be categorized as an outpatient and very healthy person, i know that corona virus wont bring me down or anything so if deductible has benefits besides the insurance thing, can i then avoid paying it? I dont need any benefits besides the insurance so i can get visa approved. Im expecting to be vaccinated before going thailand again so im sure i wont need any benefits

The LMG policy is for 1 year. The price depends on your age, starting at 3.900 baht for a 41 - 50 years old and a policy with a 200.000 baht deduction. You can find the various prices in this PDF:

https://www.lmginsurance.co.th/en/Products/Documents/Universal - Long Stay VISA OA with Deductible Feb 2020.pdf

Thanks, ive read the link you sent me, though im wondering what deductible means.. As i understand the price starts at 3900 baht for 1 year. But what about the 100k or 200k baht deduction? do i have to pay that as well?

DEDUCTIBLE refers to the first fixed amount of eligible medical expenses per visit or per disability for which the covered person is responsible for paying as stated in the policy schedule.

    I dont quite understand this.
