Commissions charged are to owners / Hosts are nothing to ask about as Agoda are open with what they charge .

I avoid using Agoda as they are slow to pay out money owing . Airbnb send payment within 24 hours of the guest arrival . . Agoda pay out at least a week and often longer after the guest has checked out .

Airbnb are a better company to deal with regarding all aspects of hosting guests in my opinion .

That said the price that Airbnb is charging for there service to the guests has increased considerably the last 18 months .

Yet we still have a good occupancy rate thanks to Airbnb .

I think booking.com has to be the worst, 10 days after the guest has checked out,

Good morning and happy new year.

Owner has the right to cancel a reservation (deposit with invoice of it provided by him) just three days before the check in date? There was no written deal, just whatsapp texts between us. Thank you.

Did you book through the owner direct or through a online platform like booking.com?

  3. It's a big problem with the OTA industry the price advertised is not always the price you pay, most of these sites allow the Host to add additional fee's and you as the guest are not aware until you book, To some of the major hotel groups it's what they call up selling check out some of the mad things they will charge extra for like Valet parking,

In the last 12 months Airbnb have tried to address this problem so before you book you are aware of any additional fee's not added afterwards,

The biggest problem I have seen over the year many guest do not read the full listing and what additional cost, such as cleaning fee, pet fee, electricity not included,

Yesterday I booked an hotel room with booking.com. Paid with my Bkk Bank debit card for a better rate, and received a confirmation email in minutes. The payment had been taken from my bank, as I had expected.

Later I got an email, pretending to be from booking.com, saying that my card had been declined and I should click on a link showing. It was in my junk box and showed a fictitious sending address. I deleted it immediately.

NEVER open an attachment or open a link in ANY email you do not know is 100% kosher, or they will be emptying your bank account with your card details.

Got similar emails this morning from Amazon? and PayPal? I wonder if booking.com has got a leak.

A few months back BDC had major problems with their payment system many host were not getting paid, they owed us about 5000 baht eventually we got paid and they sent us $55 cash gift,

  5. Agoda has a global audience but focuses on Asia, with a great response in Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

    • Founded: 2005 (Thailand)
    • Short term rental properties: 2 million+
    • Commission: 15% per booking
    • Booking.com have various rates if they collect payments for you in Thailand it's 17.2% you can choose to pay more commission for more exposure,

Like some others I have no idea what you are talking about, despite reading the post. I have no idea what a 'stack' is or where to find one.

Several times I have tried to extend an AGODA booking while staying at the hotel, it has always been cheaper to use AGODA again for the extra days.

ALL I care about is that what I pay is a good price. By the way, booking.com is owned by the same company!

The way I understand it "stack" as a host if you are offering different discounts they all stack up

Do you think because so small amount of Russians speak any English, and the only news source in Russia is state controlled, that from an early age this is all they see and hear? That it is almost a brainwashing they get all their lives?

Most of the Russians I meet speak good English and I've met a few especially if they come from Moscow, it's the older ones who don't speak much, I guess from the days of the USSR,

  8. I spent many years working around airports, many shopping centers, night clubs and department stores also 5 star hotels, my first thought would be in a high traffic area especially near the toilets, would be a suspicious package, don't touch it, my mind goes back to many years ago in a shopping center in England where they were leaving incendiary devices inside shops.

Best to inform the authorities let them remove it.
