Charge respectable prices and would receive respect in return, I mean really 50,000baht for a splinter!!, Russian's will soon open up medical clinics and treat their own, only a matter of time.

You might be right, I know a Thai girl who is a pharmacist and speaks fluent Russian, a lot of Russians go to her because of that, I doubt anyone in that hospital can speak Russian, I can tell you I have been in there a few times and English is not that good, infact once a nurse asking me questions in English was so bad I told her to speak Thai, your English is crap, and she was an arrogant piece of <deleted>,

Are the Russians really that bad here or are people just venting? I don't have any experience with them here, hence the question, but I lived with some Russians in the UK and they were nice straight talking people.

No they are not, I have met many Russians over the years here in Phuket ok some are not but that applies to other nationalities, I had to tell a Russian couple last week, "You Smile" "They Smile"

I thought there were reciprocal treaties where US (for example) licenses were acceptable for a limited time with no IDP required. And Thai licenses are accepted in the USA, for a limited time.

The IDP is a translation of your license into English, under the Geneva convention 1948, years ago I had one and it had a UN stamp on it,

  4. Wait a minute guys this was always the law, just the lazy police never follow it up,

How about when you are on your road blocks stopping bikes and scooters for no helmets, no license so no insurance, why do you fine them and let them ride away? No confiscate the bike or car, make the rental company come and collect it from the cop shop,

Last week I have some Russian guest got the hump with me because I wouldn't rent them a scooter, he didn't have a license, the problem is he's got one from somewhere, but not from me,

  5. They get treated like <deleted> from both sides of the boarder, since covid we have got to know a few of them Burmese and they are a canny bunch of people, In our soi there is a row of rooms I think about 10 there all Burmese looks like hey all work in the hotels one couple we got to know both work in a 5 star hotel, they keep the place clean and tidy no noise of any trouble,

The one girl we know you should see the house she has built, fair play to her, and her husband will come and change light bulbs for us and plumbing issues, he also gave us a load of plants,

Another Burmese woman we know has been here 17 years was telling us she has nothing to go back to, the army ransacked her house and robbed everything. I guess she wont be supporting the junta,

A couple of months ago the wife decided she wanted to sell her scooter, the first to call about it were Burmese, they wanted to come and see it obviously, they turned about 6 of them, One of them seemed to be the boss he was doing all the talking, anyway they wanted the bike they paid the cash, the bike was for one of the other guys, what was happening all these guys donate money to the boss man, maybe every month until they have enough money and they will buy the next guy a scooter, before they went they asked me have I got any more scooters, If I find they will buy, quietly he said we buy from farang is better, 555

  6. I don't know who does the planning of the roads, they really need to bring in some experts, Because this is only going to get worse, It's no fun going for a drive no more, we don't do it.

The circle at Chalong must have had millions spent on it over the years, they have built a tunnel, it hasn't improved it.
