Which country in Europe is it? Maybe it's better you contact them (first by email, if they don't reply then call). I'm also not a resident where is my bank account and my company (Hong Kong), I'll wait for some reports first, then I'll ask them before my current visa expires (October) if they accept DTV application by non-residents. I was planning to do it in Kuala Lumpur, but for DTV they require business relationship 'in Malaysia'... Vientiane seems not as good as we thought (one guy was rejected yesterday, they needed original paper from the bank)... There was a positive report from Phnom Penh, maybe you can try there? I'll wait and hope to see more positive reports from these places, not in a hurry.

Sorry to hear that @asia123 , hope the trip wasn't too expensive, probably not. So Vientiane DTV seems it's not so good as we hoped... If they really need 'original' (or stamped? not clear about this) paper from the bank, then it will not be easy for us who are here in the region and our bank is overseas... In Kuala Lumpur embassy they always accepted my printed e-statement PDF files from my HK HSBC or EU OTP bank, for years (last month as well). About the other applicants in embassy which were showing them their mobile phone banking apps - maybe the embassy staff wanted to double-check real-time balance after they got the printed statement first (this happened to me before, can't remember where). Hope we will see more positive reports from Vientiane... Phnom Penh seems better option now, eh? There was positive report from there, and they didn't mention showing 'original' bank paper (it was Chinese couple as I recall, and they were traveling around SEA).

Did you ask them if you can apply for DTV? On their website it seems easy... Did you make an appointment?

Having a child Thai resident does not qualify you for DTV. For DTV, you'll have to either: 1) Be employed in (or own) a foreign company, 2) Prove some sort of 'freelance work' portfolio or whatever that is), 3) Book Thai cooking classes (lol), 4) Have medical appointment (nobody tried this one, yet), 5) Attend some music festival or concert (noone knows how this one works yet). Non-Thai spouses and kids of a DTV holder can get their own DTV visas.

Scenario A: buy cheap $15 onward ticket, or fully refundable ticket to KL, and tell officer you're staying for a month or two, to play it safe & simple. Scenario B: don't buy any return ticket and tell officer you're staying long time, but then be ready to answer questions if they ask where you're staying, etc... Remember that Immigration (those guys who let you enter the country) are completely different department from MFA (who are selling the visas), and this is Thailand, so I'd go with plan A. One thing is sure that check-in staff at the airport will not ask anything when they see 5 years visa validity, all good.

Yep, I was replying to a guy asking about KL embassy DTV info. At the moment Cambodia and Laos are good to go, there are positive reports as well. My current visa is good until October, I'll contact KL and HK to see if non-residents get DTV there, if not then off to Cambodia or Laos (hopefully they will not change it in the meantime).

Unfortunately on KL embassy's website for DTV 'workcation' they require "employment contract / certificate *in Malaysia*", unlike Cambodia and Laos. I was planning to apply in KL, but it looks like Cambodia and Laos are only options left (and Kota Bharu consulate, but I'm not interested in going there). Penang consulate didn't publish their own DTV requirements yet.

Hi @5ilver good catch, I didn't check Kota Bahru, it's interesting that they doesn't require employer contract/certififate "in Malaysia" (unlike KL), but I'm not very interested going there eh... I only checked KL and Penang (which didn't publish their own requirements yet). Yeah KL also needs long-term rental/booking contract as well, which is OK for me as I rent a condo in Phuket, but that catch "employment contract/certificate *in Malaysia*" puts me of... let's see, maybe some positive reports will come in, who knows. If not, then we can do it in other places... But I will not wait long while it lasts, you never know with these guys (remember STV ;-).

This post is for those of us interested in getting DTV "sticker" visa in neighboring countries. Not for those applying for DTV e-visa in their own countries, which is an easy option too. I own a company in Hong Kong, and as a non-resident, I was always applying Thai visas in Kuala Lumpur, it's easy, flights are cheap, and interesting city... Loks like now it will come to an end, and more so since they just announced that from October they will switch to new e-visa system, like many others. I'll wait and see if Thai Consulate in Hong Kong will accept non-resident DTV e-visa application (they didn't for TR e-visas before), if not then I'll apply DTV in Phnom Penh or Vientiane (and hoping for Saigon to join, nice city).

Hi, did anyone replaced lost driving licence in Phuket recently? I wonder if they need a police report? In some provinces they don't need it. It was about the expire in 2 months, so I wonder if I can just get the new one, or must replace the old one first. It's the first issued (temporary) licence (2 years duration), next one will be 5 years. Thanks in advance!

Just to update for those who will search for this topic later - got my TR60 visa, no problems, and no issues for not having an entry Malaysia stamp (since I used electronic gate on arrival) = all good... so far (let's see if they let me in at Phuket airport tomorrow lol)

I thought they will finally show the list of 93 countries, anyone saw it maybe?

OK I called the consular section of the embassy, and they actually answered the phone (to my surprise lol)... They said "if my passport is eligible for electronic gate entry, then the lack of a stamp is not a problem"... Sounds good, and I'll report back here tomorrow, for those who will look for this topic later.

I didn't get an entry stamp into Malaysia yesterday when I entered via KL airport, as I was directed through new e-gates. Does Thai embassy in KL require KLIA entry stamp for Tourist visa application? I hope not, as my appointment is tomorrow... As I passed e-gates at KLIA yesterday, I noticed that they don't issue any paper slip (like in HK or SG), and there was nobody I could ask, no worker in sight.

Ha exactly the same problem last year on my Aerox 155, took it to small Yamaha center, they couldn't figure out, then took it to bug Yamaha center, they tested it and said it's a Stator, replaced new one and it never happened again.

I did it yesterday, just to update for those who might ask later (Phuket immigration - Patong beach office): - Need: passport, visa and stamp copies, filled TM7 form, 1 photo. - No need: TM30 (I had one, just in case), exit flight booking. * Arrive few minutes before they open 10am to queue (application done in 10 minutes), and return 1pm to pick it up (done in 5 minutes). * If you're coming from other area (like me), bring swim shorts & towel - beach is right behind the office 🙂 (mall was not enough to kill 2.5h lol)

Hi, is return flight booking required for 30 days extension? (apart from TM7, TM30 and all the copies) I usually book it few days before leaving... If they need it, then I'd rather pay the agent to do it for me, than OnwardTicket (same price, no requirements, and saves time).
