This is ridiculous that so many don't know the basic fundamentals of being on the road.
This is why I think it will take at least 2 generations to change anything properly, and thats only if and when they start proper drivers ED etc.

We're going to Chainat from Samui via Bangkok on the 8th Feb. Someone said we need a negative test result to go to Chainat? Is this true, I don't believe it is but maybe I'm wrong?

Didn't they give you a record document after getting each shot?
After the first dose they gave me a little slip about the next dose etc. But after the 2nd they didn't give me anything. I didn't think about it at the time and just left after the jab. But nobody told me different.

Hello
I've had 2 doses of Phizer now, my last was on the 12th last week, both done at Central, Samui.
I'm not sure what to do now to get my certificate. I rang the helpline and they said to download the Mor Chana App. I've done that, filled in my details and it just gives me a page with my profile pic and a QR code.
I see nothing about vaccinations etc
Does anybody have any info please

Hi
I want to upgrade our internet to a 1Gbps package. I saw 3BB first and its about 600 baht a month which I think is a really good price - but a lot of people don't seem happy with them or get anywhere near advertised speeds etc? Is there much truth to this, anyone on Samui have 3BB with correct speeds etc?
What are the alternatives. I saw CAT Internet recommended, but I think the most they do is a 500Mbps package?
Thanks for the help

As the title says, if I was applying for a new visa, and had sent my passport to immigration, if there was some delay and the my current visa expired while the passport was with immigration, what would happen?
Thanks

I don't get these people that create a part-time Thai family. I know a few people who are married and only see their wives 2 or 3 times a year which is weird enough. But to have kids as well and only see them when you fancy a holiday is ridiculous. Two year's he's not been over. Probably blames Covid. If I had kids I know I would do absolutely everything to make sure they are in my life at all times. They're probably better off without him...

As title suggests I'm looking to get a euro type carp fishing setup together. I've found this one site - https://fishingsuppliesthailand.com/ - which is pretty decent but doesn't have a huge selection.
Does anyone know of anymore?Specifically I'm after;
2 x Shimano Baitrunner XTB Ci4+ Longcast (14000 Spools) or 2 x Shimano Big Baitrunner XTB LC (10000 Spools)
2 x Heavy Duty Carp/Catfish Rods (e.g Free Spirit Carp Tamer, Catmaster Dominator etc)
Rod Pod
Spod Rod & Reel
Thanks in advance

Tried a mates helmet and was fine with that one - so ordered myself a better Shark Evo-ES instead haha. Cheers

Bit strange this one. I've got a decent Index helmet with visor. Fit nice and snug but when I've got the visor down my vision seems slightly distorted, almost very slightly magnified or something. It makes me feel very uncomfortable when riding so I just put it straight back up again. I tested it by putting the visor half way down so I could look through the visor and then underneath - and theres a definite change between what I'm seeing through the visor and without. I've give it a google but can't find anything about this etc. Anyone ever experienced something like this before or got any advice? Thanks

Came to Samui in 2017 for the fishing at Topcats. Instantly fell in love with the island and its atmosphere. While we were on holiday I said to my mate "as soon as I can I'm gonna move here", So I then spent the next 12 months sorting out my financials and passive income etc - and then moved here Feb 2019.
Even with everything going on with Covid etc I still 100% enjoy living here. It beats Stockport any day of the week. For me its all the greenery, the beaches, the freedom, the people. When I'm driving around I can't help but feel elated just knowing and seeing where I now live. I'm now engaged, we've got a cat and for me, this is it. Viva La Thailand!

Update to the situation - I've found a much nicer place, sea view, more modern and a good price. Locked in 1 year contract (hopefully they honor it) via a proper agent (Remax).
So from the bad comes some good. Start packing - again and move out 1st December. And hopefully this place will sit empty and the tw@t will learn a lesson - but probably not.Anyhoo, thanks for all the advice chaps. Onwards and upwards!

I hope you get this sorted mate.
Like others have said. Might just be best to pack up yer baws and leave. After the last 14 months? Who really needs more stress. ????
Take it easy man.
Yeah that's what I'm gonna do, you're right the stress just isn't worth it. This post if anything has helped me relax a bit anyway so appreciate all the advice etc

No its actually in the contract, the guys a tool. But ahh well, f^&k him!

Hello guys
I'm in a really frustrating situation with my landlord. We've been in this place since 1st September, with a contract for 6 months that also includes a promise for renewal of another 6 months if we wanted. So effectively 12 months.
The owner is a French guy who I've never met and I've been dealing with his Thai agents. 2 days ago I get an ominous message about the agent coming to see me about the contract. I ask him if its anything to worry about and he says no not really, just need to talk about something.
The agent gets here and takes a deep breath - and proceeds to tell me what is happening and what the owner is planning on doing. That the owner wants to break our contract and needs me to leave within 2 months. The agent gives me a bit more info then he maybe should of and I respect him for that as he is a genuinely nice guy. He tells me that the reason for breaking the contract is so that he can put the price up another 20,000 baht but what we will be told is that the villa has been sold. The agent says that he has a get out in the contract relating to if the villa is sold. The contract does not mention anything like this anywhere.
And as well as that we know that the villa hasn't been sold and is already being advertised at the higher rate on Facebook etc- BY THE SAME FRENCH OWNER NO LESS!!!! No ones ever even give us a chance to pay more (I wouldn't). - all we've been given is the ultimatum to leave.
Now I know this is Thailand and money talks and the owner has probably got a louder voice than me - and there probably isn't much I can do. But I would like to know where I stand with this so I can consider what to do. Its a completely dodgy situation full of lies and deceit and I hate getting f@^&ed over like this.
Any advice would be very much appreciated - even if its just "tuck your tail and leave"
Thanks
A Very Disheartened, Sean

All good on Samui - bars are legally open and the cocktails are flowing once again. So happy to actually have something to do in the evenings etc again.

So what are the alcohol rules right now? On Samui we've been able to get a drink for a few days now, everywhere seems to be opening up/getting ready. One of the beach clubs even has a DJ event on today.

No one wants to visit Thailand if you can't have a cocktail...

That's the dream for Thailand.
It almost certainly won't happen due to the presence of a certain Beta (South Africa) variant in Thailand - that's what I heard.
It's happened, as of Monday, Thailand is no longer on the red list.
